  1. Fair points mate as usual. But we can't honestly say Pedersen would have answered the problem either. Lets hope (pray) De Pedro becomes a success and in 2 seasons time who knows what sort of left sided options we'll have open to us? We may be in a position to pluck one from our own academy or maybe there'll be a new kid on the block? Keep the faith
  2. A little town north of Toronto.. I am not an ex-pat. Just a fan who needed a squad to pull for and I liked Blackburn back when the Premier League was founded and they finally gave us European footy on the TV here Ahhhhh Toronto, lovely place. I once fell down the stairs on a plane there en-route to Vancouver. Not quite up there with Hudsons Bay in Vancouver but nice all the same. If we could re-locate Ewood in Canada I'd move there tomorrow
  3. Just veering off topic again Whereabouts in Canada you from?
  4. De Pedro OOOoooooooooooooOOOOOOOooooooooo De Pedro OOOooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOooooooo He comes from sunny Spain More tricks than David Blaine De Pedro OOOOOOooooooooooooOOOOOOOOooooooooooo Tune the tune of that irritating Paddy Vieira song Arsenal sing. Actually no that's @#/?
  5. I couldn't possibly comment because I've barely seen him play. I'm just pleased to have a left winger though, one with a god track record makes it that bit sweeter. Will be interesting to see what happens to MGP now. I wonder what Revidge will think?
  6. Correct. Souness shows no interest in cup matches. Anyone who saw the players going through the motions at St Andrew's last season will know that. The bottom line for Souness is that his job and overinflated salary depends on survival the Premiership. Anything that may jeopardise that, such as cup ties, are regarded by him as irrelevant. How do we explain the worthy cup win then and SF at Old trafford?!? The Arsenal side weren't exactly ram packed with first teamers, the Boro game was a drab and rather fortunate affair, and the rest were non-prem opposition.........ditto the other season where the biggest side we played was Wigan before Man U Even poor sides can sometimes stumble through rounds........lookm at Bolton this season odds, Souey really looked like he didn't give a toss at the final whistle too Anyway, did I mention the tinpot trophy? I was referring to the UEFA Cup. I was replying to Jim in the first instance. Hey thats right that tinpot cup that gives you a place in the incredibly important UEFA cup! Souey's comments are constantly blown out of context on here. He keeps saying the premiership is our number one priority, it has to be! No cup (including the super important UEFA cup) will EVER take priority over the premiership.
  7. Yet we won the final against all odds, Souey really looked like he didn't give a toss at the final whistle too

  9. The way some people are harping on you'd think we'd ASKED the LET to publish this report!!!! If Souness is asked the question about how much money he's got, do you want him to lie?!? That'd ###### me off a LOT more than him telling the truth.
  10. An unbelievably selfish attitude that is. But it probably reflects the feelings of a lot of our supporters - oh I will bugger off now that the Walker money has dried up. It is time for fans to repay Jack Walker at the time when the club needs our support more than ever. Absolute nail on the head style post there mate Makes you sick.
  11. We got told this a few weeks before we signed Andy Cole too Really not sure what to believe when we make statements like this anymore. Hopefully it IS a smokescreen, but I won't be overly surprised if we don't have any cash, it's just a sign of the times.....
  12. I can understand why there was a spot of bother in Birmingham, perhaps it hit home what a useless dollop they've signed in Heskey
  13. We use to be a laughing stock when we got ripped off with the likes of Dailly, gone ar them days thank God. Think back over the past few seasons, players we've been linked with (I mean firm, official interest) - 90% have signed....
  14. Not so sure about this one, very much dependant on price. Ok so he had what Leeds are classing as a good season, playing next to the likes of Roque Junior (sp) though it's hardly a surprise. He was one of the best from an awful bunch. Under 1m I'd say yep pretty good signing, any more and I'd be a bit narked. Think we'll blow the remainding funds on MGP too if this comes off..... Matteo/Dickov/Pedersen Not a bad set of signings if they all come off. Add to that Fergie and Thommo who'll be like new signings too, can't wait for the new season to get underway
  15. Could the same not be said for Jonny Douglas, Steven Reid and even Jemal Johnson. Sometimes it's better the devil you know... On the subject of Pedersen, this proposed deal gets more alarming as time goes by. His club holding out for more money and no-one actually witnessing him having a good game. Then there's the supposed interest from Villa and Man U that has suddenly disappeared. From the original cries of 'sign him' and 'just buy him' bets are being hedged and the talk is now, 'give him time, he'll take time to adjust to the PL'. Keep the powder dry Souey, he's patently not good enough. There is the small fact that Douglas and Reid aren't left wingers though? I don't understand how writing a few lines in the LET gives you this in depth knowledge on Pedersen an the fact he'll be a flop?! Your arguement regarding united and villa is pretty lightweight too. Think about it logically. United - They've got Giggs to play there and he's still one of the best left wingers in the prem. Alan Smith can also do a good job there. I'm guessing they also have a few decent youth team lads who could do a job too. Even the likes of United have a transfer budget and they clearly have bigger priorities than a left winger. Left face it they could afford to let him play for us for a season and snatch him off us if he does well - sad but true...... Villa - I suspect their interest was mainly due to the Gareth Barry contract situation, however the fact that that seems to have been cleared up means they don't need Pedersen right now either. Then there's the fact they have Whittingham to play there too. Villa have made it quite clear they're working with a tight budget..... Very good. Firstly, I have no in depth knowledge but I go off the fact that Norwegian attacking players very rarely are anything more than functional. If you can name one other than Solskjaer who isn't then I'll doff my cap in your direction. Your argument about United and the left wing situation is flawed too. With Keane, Scholes and Butt to play central midfield (arguably the best trio in the prem) why did they then go out and buy Kleberson and Djemba Djemba for big bucks? I understand that left wing is probably not a huge concern but then again I wouldn't have central midfield as being so for them either. I'll be leaving the fray on this particular topic and I'll refrain from posting I told you so if and when he fails to deliver because it would appear he will be signing. Conversely if he surprises me and turns out to be the new wing sensation of the prem I will gladly admit I was wrong...and quite possibly show my backside in the Ewood club too. Carews a decent striker is he not? Keane (by his own admission cannot play a full season in the premiership anymore and has accepted he won't. Kleberson was highly rated and has been a big let down to be fair. Djemba Djemba I'm not entirely sure about but didn't it bag an agent a nice little fee? Make of that what you will. Butt is surplus to requirements..... Fair enough, I just can't see how you can write a player off because he's norweigan and you haven't seen him play!
  16. With the expert guidance of Dean Saunders, Pedersen can easily become BETTER than Duff
  17. I can't believe you got beat off a team with Craig Fisher playing for them? (He's the big gangly bugger stood next to the keeper on the team pic)

  19. EXACTLY! You'd think we'd paid a few million for him the way some people are bleating! Doubt theres many 100K strikers who scored more than 13 in the prem last year
  20. What's all this twaddle about 'inspiring the fans'? This is Blackburn Rovers! I doubt even Zidane would fill our ground! Signing Andy Cole (a Massive signing at the time) hardly added thousands to the gates did it?
  21. If Dickov's as bad as some people are making out it doesn't say much for our current strikers, on the basis he scored more than them all last season (Stead apart). If he comes in, scores say 10 goals from sub appearances and filling in for injuries then it's a damn fine bit of business, no 2 ways about it. I'll be leading the standing ovation come the first day of the season and anyone round me not partaking will receive a swift clip round the ear
  22. If it was up to you we'd field the bloody youth team next season. Your clueless ramblings are fast becoming tiresome. Fair enough not everyone will agree with the Dickov signing but you're just being petty and slating everything Souness does.
  23. Yep that's the wonderful world of the Blackburn Rovers 'supporter' for you..... The same people who were probably masturbating into a sock when we signed Emerton, that now slate him at every opportunity.
  24. We just can't afford to let him slip through our fingers here. We NEED him! United and Villa don't as they have decent left siders
