  1. I think in the back of their minds they always felt they could score a few more if required, attacking play seemed to be the main focus tonight
  2. There's always excuses with our fans really. Can't help but feel the followings last season helped the players go that extra mile at times too.
  3. Normal service resumed on that one then, always knew away followings would die off again after some decent ones last season. Shame really but we're back to being mocked for our away followings again this season now the hangers on have gone.
  4. Looking forward to it, first away of the season for me. We could do with converting draws to wins sooner rather than later and from what I've seen of Hull so far there's nothing to fear, 2-1 Rovers
  5. Slight side issue but Fulham have pulled off a real signing in Luciano Vietto?
  6. And you're basing this on what exactly? Did you even watch any championship football last season? We would EASILY have stayed up last season had we been in it, there's many weak teams. Lots of clubs will be grumbling about their signings or lack of, Swansea have ONE senior centre half and have failed to strengthen. I know who's shoes I'd rather be in. So as it stands theres scope for a couple of strong loan signings and a pot of cash should in theory be there in Jan if required. This season is about consolidation as a championship team, we're never going to be challenging for promotion. We wouldn't be next season either if we'd pissed money away and entered an embargo. I'd like an RS6. My finances COULD stretch to one but then I'd probably be hampering future plans a bit, sometimes having a bit of sense is better than being spontaneous. In Tony we trust.
  7. Makes 2 of us then. Thank Christ Tony is in charge and not most of this message board.
  8. Well On a plus note we've not been ripped off or spent beyond our means....
  9. I'm not hurling insults, a blind man could see why we were relegated though and who's to blame
  10. Ridiculous comparison. We all know who's responsible for our relegation, I'm not having it that you're THAT stupid....
  11. 1) in recent experience yes most definitely 2) on the whole yes we'd be looking at youngsters but an average prem player who's out of favour can easily slot in as the best player in a championship team as well 3) well that's at the managers discretion really 4) true and that's the only real downside, but with our finances how they are it's not always plausible to throw money about on permanent signings Some of our better players recently have been loan players, same for other clubs too it's a recurring theme
  12. Not sure why there's negativity about loan deals. There's so much strength in depth across most prem squads the youngsters really are up against it trying to make the breakthrough. Even teams like Everton now have quality in most positions. I do however think we'll land a couple of permanent moves tomorrow, quite possibly players that haven't really been discussed on here....
  13. 1-0 Rovers, Palmer to come off the bench last 20 and slot one in. I hope he does get a run out, despite not being match fit he should be more than capable of half an hours football
  14. Interesting one by Villa that, Luke adorned by casuals for years now dipping their toe in kit manufacturing - it works.
  15. Palmer needs to get on the blower and convince Tammy Abraham to come in on loan. Well we can dream.............. ?
  16. Otzumer was poor in both games against us to be honest, don't get the hype at all
  17. That's actually decent King Kenny is magic still gets sung at away days usually on a train home absolutely bladdered
  18. Actually really difficult to pick someone this year for once, so than in itself is a good sign. Dack is the obvious one, Graham and Mulgrew too. Benno has completely won me over and its impossible not to like the guy. Finally I think Raya can't be overlooked either because some of his outstanding saves have racked up points for us too. If I had to pick one it'd have to be Dack.
  19. Actually astounded when people say we're not good enough to win this league. We're not amazing all the time no, but we're a damn sight better than 95% of this league!
  20. Great gesture killacam, big respect
  21. Hardly any taxi firms charge double over xmas/NYE round here any more, those that do have very few customers......
  22. I imagine Rochina and CKR could do the job perfectly well to be honest
  23. Contrary to some daft beliefs you don't have to be a massive unit to play as a lone striker anyway given the right support....
  24. Just what we need IMO, someone to get stuck in. We simply cannot go into a championship season with a powder-puff midfield.
  25. It was hardly a secret he liked a good smoke. Recurring theme that some of our legends were heavy smokers, Garner & Newell to name a few. Gillespie also liked a tab, and rather a lot of ale and still ran like a whippet
