[Archived] Tugay - Better Than Ever
Ossydave replied to Roost's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
It was hardly a secret he liked a good smoke. Recurring theme that some of our legends were heavy smokers, Garner & Newell to name a few. Gillespie also liked a tab, and rather a lot of ale and still ran like a whippet -

If he can't lose that in a week it's pathetic, I could lose 4/5 times that if required. Gotta question what the hell he is eating/drinking? -

The whole reason it kicked off in the first place was because they shut the bar anyway.

Being filmed isn't that annoying, it's when you start getting section 60'd every match that it starts really getting on your breasts. -

It was common knowledge weeks before the game that Burnley would be paying the Station a visit post match. Could easily have been dealt with before they even got close if their so called police intelligence was up to scratch. -

Quality album - sticks & stones is bloody brilliant. The Blueprint 3 is also a superb new album. -
Welled up a bit earlier when the geordies were singing robson wonderland during the minutes applause. What a legend, will be sorely missed. I had no idea he'd had the big C for that long.

Has anyone chanced the 3rd installment of the butterfly effect? The 2nd was truly awful, but heard some good reviews about the new one. Got it at home so may give it a whirl tonight...

Bronson is out on Friday, looking forward to it. I watched Green Street 2 last night. Wow. Possibly the worst attempt at a film I have ever seen! Everything about it is just so far fetched and ridiculous. It culminates in 2 groups of prisoners having to win a game of football to get released from the prison, which by the way looks nothing like an English prison and its red hot sunshine every day wherever it is. It comes as no surprise that its directed by Yank women who've done little or no research! It's worth watching purely for the comedy value of it to be honest...

Difficult to play a good pass when Thommo in front is playing too narrow and Dickov marked by 2 6ft+ centre halves is the only outlet. I've no doubt that choosing to play his way out of trouble by playing intricate one - two's with Todd and Flitty is probably on Sparky's 'most banned' list! My vote for post of the year. I've been trying to get this point over for years with Lucas. It was the man himself who first pointed it out to me. He said the centre halves usually give him the ball, if Thompson is playing he is very rarely an outlet so he usually has to either find a forward's feet or play the ball into the corners for someone to chase. No Alan Shearer Mike Newell or Chris Sutton to win a header for our full backs. You've got a crush on him because you cleaned his fish tank

What the fork is soccer?!?!?! It's football and maybe it's just me but the price will never put me off football, yes it pee's me off but like any junkie I need my fix and football is my smack

I would have thought a lot of Arsenal fans are pretty certain they'll make the final and are saving themselves for that, wrong as it may be, lets hope we can ###### on their chips. Coupled with the fact they get to visit the MS a lot more than us and are likely to do in the near future.

Extremely embarassing However, I'm pretty certain ticket sales would be higher if the semi was at Villa Park, on the Saturday at 3pm. Regardless of that it's a once in a lifetime opportunity for crying out loud, wouldn't miss it for the world. Further proof that Blackburn's not a football town, same old excuses (which will of course no longer apply if by some slim chance we get to the final).

Exactly. Don't think anyone knows the true extent of Matt's problems. I've had life threatening car smashes but never has it stopped me doing my job as well as I could before. I always knew there was a good reason for not driving through Oswaldtwistle (in addition to it being the wrong turning on the road to anywhere) To be fair my first smash was over Stanhill (not strictly ossy ) and my second was Haslingden. I wasn't driving in either

[Archived] Rovers 0 - 1 Arsenal

Never understood why Arsenal never splashed out on a world class keeper in the summer, Christ they need one. Major plus point that Henry is out. I think we can edge this one 1-0. -
FAO any ossy based rovers - we're running a coach/hotel package, going down on the Friday, returning Sunday afternoon. There might be a few places spare if anyone's interested, if your easily offended though keep away, last time was a bit messy

I wouldn't be too bothered about the style of play adopted by sparky's men. When he came here the alarming problem was clearly the defence, the job he, and his men have done is amazing when you compare it to the late Souness era. His main objective was keeping us in the premiership, best way of doing this - don't concede goals, you can't lose if you don't concede. I think next season we'll see a more attacking emphasis, hopefully he can uncover some attacking gems to match the defensive ones he's brought in. I honestly can't remember watching Rovers and being so bloody confident we won't let a goal in. Hopefully we can confirm premiership status a few games before the end of season and I think he'll start tinkering then and during pre-season. Another plus point is the way Hughes is always full of praise for his players post match. Has to be said they're also full of praise for him too, liked the way Sav said last night that you'd run through brick walls for some managers, Hughes being one of those. I can't imagine anyone ever saying that under Souness. I also find it hard to imagine any of the lads will fall out with Hughes anytime soon either - clearly Souey's biggest fault. Most, if not all of the negative comments about Hughes come from rival fans/managers, says it all really, if we bother them that much we must be doing something right -

Well, a fiver on a 0-0 at 9-1 looked good odds and so it was, combined with the cheltenham winnings the drinks are on me on saturday I'll admit that I couldn't be arsed to go tonight as I finish work too late and it was also on sky (shoot me). Fair play to those who went though, clearly audible on sky. I doubt Anfield has seen a better defence all season, bearing in mind we had NEJ (complete with sh*t tash), Neill and Matteo on the pitch at times thats remarkable. P.s anyone think Matteo looked pretty damn fast tonight for some reason?
