  1. Coach no.1 for me. Sounds good I think
  2. I am certain Norwich will win. The only reson for is because they have yet to win away, it's bound to be us that changes that. It always , always works out like that. Somebody hasn't won at home, Rovers turn up and get beat. Somebody hasn't won away, Rovers get beat. Somebody hasn't scored in three years, Rovers let him score a hattrick. God I'm depressed. Why can't we just spend a couple of years in mid table. I would love that, I can't take all this stress!
  3. Just received the phone call to confirm my ticket is in the bag. Bring on the dingles! I hope we bloody sell out.
  4. Beat Norwich we stay up. Lose against Norwich we go down. I think it's as big as that! 2 huge games coming up for the boys.
  5. I have to agree with an earlier post, that Nelson looks better than Mokoena. There's something about Mokoena that makes me uncomfortable when he has the ball, I think he some hidden Amoruso qualities. Nelson looked to keep it simple and defended well, unlucky nottoo score also. Savage hasn't done anything to impress me yet. But I shall wait. Johnson played extremely well. Reminds me of Defoe great movement and always bright. I would stick him above Stead in the pecking order.
  6. I think tomorrow will be fascinating. I can't wait to see what will happen to Ferguson? Will he play? Will he get booed? Will he have a cracking game? (quite possible if he plays) I would love to bump into him and see what he has to say. It's nice not to have to worry about other results for a change on a Saturday.
  7. It will take a momumental effort to get anything out of this, but if..... the weather is abso-bloody-lutely freezing, Rovers get an early shot on goal and the crowd roar, the crowd get the players going and the players get the crowd going, Rovers get a goal off Stead's backside or a floodlight or something similar, Freidel has the game of his life and... 14 Cheslea players have an off night, then we might snatch a point. I do pray for one of those great night matches at Ewood, but I just think we should be looking at damage limitation as we are going to be sucked right down into a dog fight very soon.
  8. One thing I am sure of is this is not DEAD. It's going to be an interesting couple days.
  9. This Ferguson saga is getting very interesting. I think Newcastle have had a bid accepted (or at least made one) for Amdy Faye at Portsmouth so perhaps they aren't looking at Barry. Does anybody know whether he will be fit for Monday? Will he play? What reaction will he get? Would you play him? I honestly don't know what I'd do. I very much doubt he'll be out by then unless things move very, very fast. For some reason I think Mr. Ferguson will withdraw his request and stay, I think he happyish at Rovers and once we push up that league and he realises Scottish Football is the place for Egil Ostenstad to finish his career he'll stay. (fingers crosed anyway)
  10. Neill or Todd both great players and are very vocal. Freidel must be in with a shout also.
  11. Good player, perhaps slightly under acheived but he did have a serious injury. Nobody can blame him if he wants to move back to Rangers for his family's sake, perhaps he could have thought the move through more at the time. He came, he got injured, he did ok, he's going home. I'm sure nobody will be gutted. There willl be those disspaointed but Savage can have more influence if he ever signs. The thing we must remember here is that would Ferguson hand in a transfer request knowing that Rangers or whoever are only slightly interested. He must know something. As Savage did, he knew if he just waiting for a week or so they would agree a fee and bingo move granted! He couldn't risk handing a transfer request in as club captain without being sure he can move. Neill and Todd for captian and vice captain respectively.
  12. Oh by the way, watch Everton slide now. Tommy G is a top, top player for them. If we get Sav in and Fergie stays, It will have been a decent january.
  13. Wouldn't touch this boy with a ten foot pole. Fat, Lazy and arrogant. Can't tackle and doesn't try either. Plays almost as a third forward the times I have seen him at Forest. No doubt he has talent, but he isn't enough of an all round package for me. Strikes the ball well, but I don't think he's good enough for the prem. The fee Forest want is ridiculous.
  14. I'm praying it's on Sky. I think there's is Fulham vs. Watford and Hartlepool on the same night so I am hoping with the Hughes Cardiff factor they might stick us on.
  15. I think this may well go to a replay, which isn't ideal. I would advise (with my years of football management knowledge) Hughes to rest - Freidel, Neill, Ferguson, Emerton and Dickov. Whcih would leave room for Enkleman, Mceverly, Mokoena, Pedersen and Gallagher. I'd certainly look at putting Jemal Johnson in the squad and possibly a couple of other younsters. Whilst I certainly don't want the F.A cup to die, the premeir league is our bread and butter and we must concentrate on that.
  16. This game is a bonus one for me. After winning at Bolton we can go there with little pressure on our backs. I would have settled for 2 points from the Bolton and Villa games considering our situation. As it stands we have surpassed my target, so anything is a bonus. It won't be pretty they'll it edge by a goal. 1-0 Villa Angel Charlton is the important game. Anything gained at Villa is a bonus.
  17. Pleased with a draw and if there was another half hour to go there was only one winnner. Slowly but surely we are making progress. We are hard to beat, we are very organised and have started to play abit too. Hughes is doing a good job. Somebody very soon is going to get walloped for 5 or 6. Newcastle looked threatening for the first 10 minutes with their pace but after that they really were poor and looked about as good as their league position suggests. I think Mr. Souness may well be out of a job soon. The geordie faithful did little to support him whilst we booed him , only a half hearted rendition of Souness, Souness could be heard. Very nice to see Ewood nearly full. A good day, but on another day it could have been perfect.
  18. Thanks for the weather update guys. Let's hope for a full house, three points and a Souness sacking by 5 o'clock.
  19. Merry Christmas everybody! Just wondering what the situation is regarding snow. I shall be travelling over as usual from Scunthorpe tomorrow would anybody strongly advise me not too? What are the surrounding roads like? It loked pretty bad on the news. If anybody has any information or could post a quick update in the morning that would be super!
  20. Good result after being 1 down. It is starting to look like we are getting harder to beat. We are turning defeats into draws, now we just need to turn these draws into wins. The only thing is that requires a goalscorer something don't seem to have. Things are getting a little brighter.
  21. What a shocking day. It's has alreadly been mentioned but Tugay cost us the game today simple as that. Ferguson is class, but will move in the transfer window. Reid is garbage, he's just not good enough. Amoruso is a clown. Matteo is a thug. The rest had a go, but what a pile of rubbish. I don't understand how you can have two left footed players on the bench yet not start with one of them on the left side of midfield. Watching Rovers is slowly becoming a joke. At this point I have very little doubt we will be in the bottom four come May.
  22. Steady has lost all confidence and to be quite honest he looks every bit a third divsion or league 2 player at the present time. But we all know what he is capable of so lets just stick with him. Dickov is wonderful isn't he? We can't defend set peices but Hughes will sort that. Overall I thought we passed it well, the more time Hughes gets with the players the better we will become. We are actually playing football now. Villa are a good side and will be top six, it's just a shame we couldn't hang on. I think there are plenty of reasons for us to be optimistic at this time.
  23. The place seems so much brighter after three points doesn't it? Wasn't a brilliant performance, but it was a brilliant result and that is what counts. Let's not get carried away. Jay Bothroyd looks promising, but then again everyone picks their game when they first arrive at a club - although I will watch him closely, he looks like a real player. John Stead needs a goal he looks out of his depth at present, he just needs to keep it simple. He couldn't have a better mentor in Hughes so he'll be fine. I think Matteo is a poor central defender, I really do. He makes me feel uneasy. I do think he has something to offer the team but perhaps not at centre half. Pedersen is really struggling, but I wouldn't drop him. I think he has quality but he is too timid and nervous to try the things that make him stand out. I get the impression the other players have no confidence in him. He needs a hug from the manager and time and he will be fine. I still think it goning to be a long and hard season and we shouldn't get too carried away just yet. Oh yeah, Matt Jansen you legend keep plugging away. I bet you he reads this board today, so if you are Matty - We love you!
  24. To be honest Hughes should not have a problem in the fact he can't bring in X, Y and Z just yet. It's basically like the Welsh job he knows he has these players and these players only (until Jan) and he has to get the best out of them to leave us comfortable at Xmas. This window may well be a good thing, also gives the current crop a decent chance to impress. The Bournemouth game comes at a good time for Hughes to get a glimpse of everyone early on. I don't think it could be much better set for Sparky.
  25. If someone would have said to me a month ago you can swap SOuness for Hughes I would have snapped thier hand off. I think this appointment can leave us all felling very optimistic. Although he will have little contact with the players before Saturday.
