  1. No major surgery needed to the squad says Mowbs but it takes a brave man not to strengthen this side with the quality of opposition we will face in this league.I'm not all that confident he's been backed by the Pune Loons tbh...time will tell.
  2. Dryhorse...we'll do the football you lot the Whisky..it's for the best!
  3. Dryhorse.... ye doth protest too much wee fella!
  4. "Last time #Rovers made a profit was 2012, their last season in the Premier League. Since Venky’s bought the club in November 2010, the club has accumulated £115m of losses, some achievement considering they have had 2 seasons in top flight followed by 4 with parachute payments." That quote from Swiss Ramble says it all..total financial mismanagement on a spectacular scale. Don't anyone dare say to me these people have the best interests of the club at heart even after promotion from the dead man's league.
  5. The decline in BBE atmosphere and singing coincided with many removing themselves from it....not exactly rocket science is it? Splitting the singer's up into isolated small groups has never and will never work.
  6. Preston,Bolton,Villa,Leeds,Both Sheffield Clubs,Stoke,Boro,Forest...probably all capable of 5,000+ followings at Ewood next season old Darwen Blue. To be brutally honest you could barely hear the Darwen Enders next to 1,500 Salops!....We ain't that big fish in that small pond anymore.
  7. Get back to the BBE you singers....2-300 young lads will be drowned out by large away followings as well as getting the pish taken out of them.
  8. Mowbray has either been financially backed but the club are keeping Mum as not to inflate prices or he has been told there is no money and has to work with what he has He must be gutted if its the second but most likely outcome...only our transfer dealings will tell the tale.
  9. And in that sentence lays the crux of all our problems, the sum of all our fears. How can we ever hope to move forward with these owners when their Hearts are clearly not in the right place? We are caught between a Rock and a hard place with these people.
  10. Let's give 'Madame' some credit here....she did quite abundantly and with great pride and aplomb claim to know more about Cricket than Football,we were forewarned so fair play to the top Lass on that one. A second or so after the great announcement the fookin Sky fell in and the doors of Hades opened for most Rovers fans with a collective cry of Oh Shyte!! I digress.
  11. I find that truly astonishing,£250 Million for the sum total of abject failure? They remain the Bull in the China Shop, the crux of our problems. The bad feelings and resentment return with vengeance when I read things like this..and I don't like it one bit.
  12. Yeah sure...the same paper that claimed Liverpool fans robbed their own dying supporters at Hillsborough. Toilet paper.
  13. Just been promoted and they decide to shut more of the ground.
  14. Have a sneaky feeling the Police have had a say in this.Leeds,Stoke,Bolton and Preston much more volatile and greater chance of trouble. They take the easy option every time at the expense of home supporters.
  15. Why not open up the top tier of the BBE for the singing section...you can stand, wave your flags etc...no problem....ALL singers together in one stand.
  16. Not good if true....the area is not affluent enough to afford a pricing structure like that.
  17. Yes,I remember the Jag falling out of favour pretty quickly...ended up selling mine to a second hand shop on Bolton Rd! Amazed at those prices now.
  18. The Atari Jaguar.. the memories are flooding back there.Saved all my penny's up for one of those in the early 90's,the graphics were hailed as groundbreaking at the time. Look archaic now,how things have moved at a pace...
  19. Without question Al a great old Company. Was looking at some old photos on Cottontown....I believe they were commended for their production efforts during the War years.Made the Winching gear for the Mulberry Harbour D-Day landings! My Grandmother worked in the 'Bolt Shop' (?) during the late 50's http://www.cottontown.org/Other Industry/Pages/Engineering-and-Electronics.aspx#5 Clayton Goodfellow Walkersteel Walparum Blackburn now? too reliant on low paid service sector jobs and pound shops..and people wonder why it's a relatively poor town!
