  1. Talking of 'taking' the BBE USABlue, he's one of the Chelsea Headhunters doing what they did best circa 80/81.Glad to say one of the matchday experiences not missed today. I was at this match with my late father......shyte scared was an understatement!!! Anyone in the pic btw?
  2. Les Froggies at Ewood tonight Bollux to it! I've changed my mind lets go as far as we can in this comp.....it may be our last chance for quite a while.
  3. I'll second my comment that too many 'JANS' now frequent the BBE!.
  4. The atmosphere and camaradiere of the old standing Blackburn End is very, very much missed.Quite frankly there is more atmosphere on the moon than the current BBE now. In years past the BBE was the focal point for the more partisan support, predominantly male and vocal.Old Granny fiddlesticks with her 5 year old grand kids in tow would sit in the old Nuttal st stand....Its far too diluted now with people who cant even be bothered to sing in support of the club. 'YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE' and the big surge...........memories too good to ever forget,I pity those not old enough to have had the experience.
  5. Its going to be a struggle, their home form is very good. 1-1 at best
  6. Spot FLB, also Preston's crowds have been nothing more than average. It appears there is no easy solution but playing like we did in the first half and the final result,well..... we certainly aren't helping ourselves!
  7. Agreed Ozzie.Rovers fans arguing loudly amongst themselves, many just stood in silence with a bewildered expression.Horrible memories of 98/99 come flooding back.
  8. Maybe it is proving to be a 'spark' on a terrible season to date Paul but its also proving to be a burden. With a paper thin squad we are struggling to play 2 competative games within the space of seven days. I agreed elsewhere that winning the UEFA and being releagted might be acceptable, I now think that was a stupid remark I'm so glad you've seen the light Paul, I really am.
  9. Straight to the point and no doubt this will upset some people. I hope we finish second in the group and are then drawn away to Benfica and exit with our heads held high to concentrate fully on Premiership survival....our bread and butter. Pride has been restored this campaign but enough is enough, its proving to be a massive drain on team resources.I'm sorry but thats how I feel now. 1-1 Att: 8,000.....not much interest anyway.
  10. No you ruddy well cant, I'm going to need my full allowance!
  11. Agreed, very lightweight like Gally. BUT we have no other alternative.....worrying to say the least!
  12. I would Theno because relegation could possibly be the beginning of the end for Rovers but sadly I am but a mere pauper. Hey ho!
  13. About 16,000 home fans blue, agree that its going to get worse looking at those next few fixtures...I just dont know where our goals are going to come from. Again a big plea to the Rovers board to back Hughes with hard coin come January.
  14. The game was lost due to a totally inept first half performance...the angry reaction from the Rovers crowd at half time was totally justified.Better second half but we must learn to be motivated from the start not just for 45 minutes!!! With injuries and suspensions Its all a bit of a mess really. Our next three games of Reading away,Arsenal away and Liverpool at home look like a mountain to climb right now.
  15. Are you sure about that? 'But the gap between the clubs who have huge financial backing is getting bigger so it will be more difficult for clubs such as Blackburn. 'But you just have to work hard with what you have got, and that improves you as a manager and a coach.' No use moaning about it Hughes, do the best you can with what you have like Big Sam at Bolton.....you knew the score when you took the managers job.
  16. So lets hypothetically fast forward to May 2007 and Rovers have won the Uefa cup but because of injuries and lack of quality signings in January they have taken the drop. That night in Glasgow was a marvellous occasion with 25,000 Rovers 'fans'(many having not stepped into Ewood park all season) partying the night away. For 3/4 of our following In reality,Its sadly a case of one final nostalgic bandwagon fling before the majority swear they were always supporters of Utd or Liverpool. First game back in the Chumpionship and Rovers have sold a mighty 6,000 season tickets.Drawn at home to the mighty Southend who expect at least half a coach of fans to travel to add to the expected 11,000 gate. The decision has been taken to relocate the away fans to the Jack walker lower and the whole of the Darwen end stand and BBE upper are to be closed for the majority of games to save money. Our super strikers Jeffers and Derbyshire claim in Fridays LET that they will fire us back in no time! Meanwhile, back in the Prem newly promoted Burnley play Man utd at home infront of 22,000. F!&K TO RELEGATION!!!!!!!!!!
  17. There can only be one sane answer to your question BEB. 'Get knocked out of the UEFA Cup in February and finish the season a creditable 13th in the Premiership' Our squad is simply not big enough as is clear for all to see.We have our pride back in Europe and have done ourselves justice this time....we can hold our heads high. The repercussions of relegation for Rovers would be horrible...I fear we wouldn't come back (if ever) to the top flight for a VERY long time. The Prem is our bread and butter without question, with no 'uncle Jack' to take the financial losses of relegation we could go from playing Man Utd to Macclesfield in next to no time.....a frightening prospect indeed given our current attendance problems.
  18. I fear I'm not far of the mark Stuwilky, too many Rovers fans still back in the Dam on their European jolleys!
