  1. This side is simply not strong enough to mount a Europrean campaign and Premiership football....one has to give and its clearly the Prem!! GULP!
  2. I agree with your post USA Blue, I do also wish more people within the town would realise how lucky we are to have this club. For me personally,as a fan who started supporting Rovers in the dark days of the early 80's, what we have now and what we have achieved this past decade or so was beyond my wildest dreams as little far back as 1991. What makes me both sad and mad is that people moan about the prices even when the Utd's and Liverpool's come to town(we still cant fill our sections!) will they EVER realise that maybe in 5-10 years time when we are playing Wallsall at home in a freezing Nov night infront of a 3/4 empty stadium just how lucky we were back then. The loss of a manager, the sale of high profile players, and down turn in finances and hey ho,before we all know its 1980 all over again for our club.....just ask a Forest fans how he feels.
  3. Burnley played infront of just 11,700 today in their lofty position...is this currently a predominantly East Lancs problem.
  4. Have these Baffoons nothing better to do than slag off us 'unfashionable' clubs? More and more I am convinced they want the Prem full of big city clubs and nothing more.
  5. As well as the Riverside stand the area behind it is a disgrace and needs improving.I work with fans of many clubs who have visited Ewood and their almost unanimous opinion of the 'shed' is it looks ridiculous compared to the rest. Why anyone would not support sensible and within budget redevelopment of that side of our ground is beyond me. Remember the original plans that were mooted for the Riverside?...a 15,000 seater behemoth taking Ewood to 40,000 capacity!!.A model is still on show at the club and can be seen on the ground tour. With the current crowd problems thank christ it never happened......we'd have ended up giving Utd or Liverpool the whole stand!
  6. Their South stand holds 5,000 Rev,Ewood would be a great modern stadium with similar in place. Surely cost is not a massive factor here if its achievable for a club(with all pespect) like Pererborough utd........its just a lack of forsight imho. And your sopt on about Ewood looking more full for twelve months or so while the redevelopment took place!!
  7. Many of you are missing the point here.....we dont have to increase the capacity just bring the stand and its facilitys up to standard and in line with the rest of the stadium.Quite frankly the Riverside looks tired and totally out of place with the rest of Ewood and lets the stadium down badly aesthetically....the fans on that side deserve better. Look at PETERBOROUGHS SOUTH STAND and look what is achievable under a budget, imagine this stand or similar in place of the awful Riverside.....smart, modern two tier seating in line with the rest of the ground and even space for exec boxes !!!! With a bit of imagination, sponsorship and the WILL to finish Ewood properly, it is possible.
  8. Rovers are to continue with the cheap ticket initiatives despite the 'disappointing' responce on Thursday ,so says John Williams in todays LET.
  9. JHC!!!! I wouldn't have thought anyone would have had the bare faced cheek to state that after season ticket holders had the Salzburg game for nowt. It really does begger belief
  10. Its been great to have Tugay here, he doesn't score many goals but by christ they're gems when he does!! Nearly always the last player to leave the pitch after acknowledging all corners of Ewood,he along with Freidel were Souness's best ever signings.
  11. I might well do Phil, these Uefa cup games are giving me great entertainment and at bargain prices unheard of at most other Premiership clubs.....other Rovers 'fans' just dont give a toss either way pal at present such is the apathy within the town.
  12. Garbage Flopsy,Rovers have bent over backwards to help the fans and the responce was pathetic with a two fingered gesture. I felt like I was robbing my own club last night at those prices, there is NOTHING more the club can do. If I read another letter in the LET complaining about ticket prices my fookin head will expode after last night.Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  13. At just £7.50 NEARLY free!!!!!! What a shame at the responce.
  14. Great second half performance....TUGAY YOU ARE MY TURKISH DELIGHT!!!! Just over 13,000.........
  15. I may feel inclined to offer the ticket office another £20 out of sheer embarrassment tonight....I feel like I'm robbing my own club at these prices. Lets face the facts, many in the town just dont give a f**k about Rovers, the clubs banging its head against a brick wall.
  16. According to Lee on the official site as of yesterday the club had sold less than a whopping 10,000 tickets. Please dont have the cheek to moan about prices again.....end of.
  17. Thank god,the energy and enthusiasm Savage plays with is just what we need at this moment to lift this sides spirit....what a terrible time for this many injuries to occur. Our crowd must be the 12th man come Thursday....the lads will need us more than ever.
  18. Anyone else catch the sky footage of our 2-1 win back in the mid 90's with Pearce scoring the winner, our fans must have filled the lower tier of that stand(4,000)....how times change eh! Hammers fans making a big thing about our lack of support on KUMB
  19. Will Nonda be fit...touch and go? This fixture seems so much more difficult now.
  20. I'm having similar thoughts to be honest, seems out of sorts....rise above it Benni we need you now fella!
  21. Because we lack the quality in midfield to privide the killer pass to our static, ball to feet strikers Somerset. The long ball crap we witnessed today does not suit McCarthy's style one iota. Roberts broken foot....FFS!
  22. If anyone is daft enough to believe we can sustain both a Uefa cup challenge and a good Premiership campaign with this painfully paper thin squad then they are living in cloud cuckoo land.We have neither the quality nor strength in depth and today it came home to roost for all to see against the bottom side....like Roverite says its going to be a very difficult November, the injury crisis is very worrying indeed. Aimless crosses to nobody and hopeless long balls will see more embarrassing defeats like this. For sure,If one club has the Voodoo sign over us its ferkin West Ham at Upton park.
  23. Woeful first half.......its just injury after injury after injury at the moment.
  24. I think your spot on there about Burnley Blue phil, working in the place gives you a better idea of the problems they face...very similar to ours in all honesty. From comments made most Clarrots can only look on in envy of Rovers and their cheap tickets, they cannot afford to do it at Turd moor to often as according to agent Edmundson they need 16,000 at full price just to break even.....a local, top of the table derby clash(albeit on sky)against Preston only sees 11,500 home fans make the effort! Whether you like it or not East Lancashire is a very financially depressed area at the moment and football appears to be well down on the priority list
  25. Sod the British Eurosport coverage and be there in person on the night if you can,at these prices there should be a decent gate on the night. We could be looking at winning this game to qualify through!
