[Archived] Rovers 0 Chelsea 1

Just sit back in that cold plastic seat, put your feet up on the person's shoulder's infront and be aghast as the Chelski roadshow comes to town. We have not a cat in hell's chance...chin up lads 'n' lasses! -
[Archived] Poll - Falling Attendances.
SIMON GARNERS 194 replied to Tris's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Well thats it then....we might as well shut up shop for good. Our club's between a rock and a high place with attendance's at the moment,'fair weather' fan's will not come to watch a home side that does not entertain and put quite simply, as warned many time's before, the club cannot sustain top flight football on these sort of crowd's for much longer....that is the reality in the cold light of day and it hurt's to say. 20,000 was a poor crowd for a local derby and only gives the national media more ammunititon to belittle our beloved club with....I so look forward to the football phone in on Century tonight when Laurel and Hardy (Sharp and Thomas) gleefully and oh so predictably stick the boot in. Until matter's improve on the pitch we are in a lose, lose situation, one big vicious circle. -

I'll go for the first two in this order: Alan Shearer: We had possibly the best striker in Europe @ '95 at Ewood in Alan Shearer...at his worst he was simply devastating infront of goal.I had never seen, and very likely will never see again a player with such ability in our famous blue'n' white......I thank my lucky stars I was able to witness every goal he scored at Ewood. Despite serious injury and the passage of time the man continues to do the business for Newcastle....I have nothing but admiration. Simon Garner: He played for Rovers at a time when the club was basically on its knees and he bacame a cult hero, a figure to look up to in our darkest hours. From scoring five in one game v Derby to breaking Rovers goalscoring record against Man city he will be remembered as a player who helped keep the clubs nose above water as the likes of Burnley,Preston and Blackpool began their fall into lower league oblivion.Magic memories of a loyal servant to the cause. David Speedie: What an impact this fella had on the Ewood park crowd in such a short space of time, possessed with a 'never give in mentality', like a little terrier he played with a passion and pride that warmed him instantly to the Blackburn public. Such was the depth of feeling on his departure to Southampton that a home made banner was erected on the gates of the Blackburn end that read with great affection........ 'PLEASE UNCLE JACK, BRING DAVID SPEEDIE BACK!'

What the hell happened to our team after we went 3-1 up?....we just started to fall apart I watched in amazement and horror as we just sat back and gave them the bloody ball, and I mean literally passed it to them....f'kin unbelievable!!! Thank god we're through but Jesus that was one VERY uncomfortable second half to watch.....all credit to Cardiff. Once again the mobbing of Pederson left every Rovers fan at Ewood with a big smile on their face So its bring on the U's and lets see Rovers fans dig deep in those pockets and turn out in force PLEASE!!! -

No doubt our new man Savage will be in the stands tonight looking at a 3/4 empty Ewood .......if you can afford it/have the time then make the effort to be there tonight eh. -
''The goal itself was as bizarre as someone choosing to play for a smoky sh**-hole mill-town club in Lancashire rather than the mighty Blues''... 'The mighty blues?'........... Birmingham: The arsehole of the uk,enough said. WELCOME ROBBIE SAVAGE

Crompton,Clayton,Keeley,Hendry......Players who wore the blue 'n' white shirt and captained the club with pride Can somebody explain to me how we ended up with this waster Ferguson? .I feel sorry for everybody concerned with our famous, grand old club as we've simply been taken for a ride. WELL PUT BLUE/WHITE!!!!! Nice bit of business by Souness and Murray......you screwed us bigtime with this one -
So now we are faced with the prospect of having the most partisan and vocal home part of the ground vertually empty because many people will not pay the higher price or have been forced to move to another part of the ground.......for gods sake the atmosphere at Ewood is bad enough. ADVANTAGE CARDIFF.
