  1. Yeah, that's pretty much the last straw for me. "at the moment he can't get it here"....I wonder why that is, Sam? Maybe because you insist on playing 1 striker upfront, and often a useless one at that with Roberts? Or maybe because you persistently have us playing virtually with 10 men because of the inclusion of Andrews week in and week out? I mean, I'd understand if Kalinic was already approaching 10 premiership goals and if Di Santo or Roberts were not far behind to say that Benni McCarthy "can't get football at Rovers", but given our position and the statistics this is quite absurd.
  2. Benni McCarthy is still the best player at our club and every game he doesn't start it leads to dropped points. Think of how much we have lost in the past year or two. Despite his goal-scoring and assists record many still go on about that he is "lazy" or whatever...but I wonder...who exactly is doing better? Jason Roberts?
  3. What an incredibly stupid comment. Not all players have the same attributes. He is 30, things like stamina are going to be an issue, especially if he's had problems with it before. It's not a lack of effort, nor is he lazy, but you can't expect everyone to be able to keep up with the top dogs in the premiership. And as we see he is doing his best and is open about his problem.
  4. Thank you, Andre. Been our best defender during certain periods, and always does a good job even when he has to come off the bench. A great team-player. Now this is the proper way to leave a club, you'd hope others would take notice.
  5. I wonder just who else do you expect to score those 9 goals? If we stay up, he's gonna be one of the main if not the main contributor.
  6. I hope this thread shows the concerns some of us have towards the preservation of the good morals of the club. Success is useless if we lose our soul, and unfortunately too many fans here don't seem to mind that.
  7. Can't think of anything else to say that hasn't already been said. No one will be ever be as great as Uncle Jack.
  8. Friedel is everything that is supposed to be good and respectable about football. A legend if there ever was one.
  9. Wow, I didn't know Flitcroft and Thompson were retired already. They can't be more than 35. Still feel sorry for Matty, but good to see him still trying somewhere.
  10. Oh, definitely. If they sacked Sven for not getting into the CL, I pity anyone's chances. They have to hope Arsenal or Liverpool slip up (not likely), and there will still be fierce competition from the likes of Everton and Spurs.
  11. What I don't understand it was I so stupidly deceived all these years or was this man a complete liar? Every interview he seemed happy to be at Rovers, he seemed like he cared about the club and the fans (and not just because we were paying him), and now he dumps us faster than Souness did, for an even worse position. I'm guessing it's the former, but I really struggle to see the difference between someone who's there because they respect the club and someone who just wants to get out at the first available posting. It has really left me a bit sick.
  12. Apparently he's on their 3-man shortlist. What I want to know though is who the hell exactly are Chelsea to be putting another club's manager on their shortlist? I seriously do not understand this. Does the fact that they are richer due to some shady Russian businessman mean they can just take whatever they want from us and leave us for dead? Has FIFA/UEFA done absolutely nothing to try and protect "smaller" clubs?
  13. If he doesn't care about Rovers and they offer us a sum that only Abramovich can conceive of, then alright. Otherwise Chelsea can go [insert extreme obscenity] [insert extreme obscenity] [insert extreme obscenity] [insert extreme obscenity] [insert extreme obscenity] [insert extreme obscenity] [insert extreme obscenity] [insert extreme obscenity] [insert extreme obscenity] [insert extreme obscenity] [insert extreme obscenity] [insert extreme obscenity].
  14. Yeah, you gotta love him when he's good and scoring goals. Too often he's vastly inadequate, but I don't know if we can buy anyone better. So let's just hope he's good more often!
  15. As bad as the players are playing, with our performances and results in the past few months a big chunk of the blame must also fall on the manager. 4-1 to Coventry at home with the majority of our starting 11 says it all. The players simply have no fear of playing like sh*t and getting embarrassed.
  16. Yeah maybe when Savage and Reid are ready to start in cnetral mid, we can try Dunn on the left side. I don't think MGP is as poor as most are saying, but he is having too many average games.
  17. just read that too...this is great, but how we go from "suspected broken leg" to "could be fit tomorrow" is strange.
  18. wow, thanks so much for those clips...those were some classic games.
  19. he's not starting, but I hope he gets to play in the 2nd half, McLaren must be mad not to try him atleast.
  20. I'm very happy for him, he fully deserves it. Hopefully he and Beckham can share 45 mins vs Brazil.
  21. BBC just posted a direct quote of him saying it would be "fantastic" if we sold him to a club playing CL football. I don't know if that's true or not, but regardless - I have no worries that he'll stay with us. Chelski or ManUn aren't crazy enough to buy a near 30-year old striker, no matter how many goals he scores. So he can pretty much forget about playing there and concentrate on us.
  22. we have the 3rd highest scorer in the premiership for 2 million, it speaks for itself really. And on top of that he seems to have a great attitude towards the game, a fantastic player.
