  1. I think TM has asked Venkys for new players but they've told him to sod off, and thats why he has to pretend now that everything is great with our defenders and theres no need for big changes. No other choice but to try to give them some confidence, as we will have no other options. But the hard reality is that our defenders are not good enough and we are up a certain creek without a paddle.
  2. Absolutely sickening. This has happened many times now but this is crossing the line. We have no defensive bottle. None. For all the other qualities the team has, we are helpless defensively. The biggest challenge this next month will not be the results on the pitch - with this squad the rollercoaster will just go an as usual. The biggest challenge is convincing our owners we need serious defensive changes in the transfer window. Nothing less. If we don't have at least half a decent defensive base from which to build the team, it's all for nothing. It is critical that we get a new defense, because this one has shown without a doubt they have no bottle.
  3. Missed opportunity. Armstrong is so, so frustrating. He has pace and beats his man, which is a luxury we don't often have - but what on earth has happened to his final ball and finishing this season? Completely gone. It's not just the change in league, because again he is creating chances that not many other players can - but then it's all for nothing because of how dull and wasted his deliveries are. Honestly I don't see what we have to lose by giving Nuttall another chance.
  4. What is crystal clear at this point is whatever line-up and tactics appear to be working in training are certainly not working on the pitch at match time. TM has to realize this. We have some options on the bench, not too many, but enough to reorganize things and try something different. We've already paid the money on Brereton, we really have to try him - the risk is already made. The concerning thing is too many managers are too stuborn and do not admit it when big changes need to be made. This period is going to decide whether TM has what it takes to make it in (and beyond) the Championship, or if he's taken us as far as he can.
  5. Delighted. Reed and Rodwell when he came on impressed for me. Ama made good runs and beat his man a few times, always looked dangerous, but needs to rediscover his scoring form, has missed big chances as of late.
  6. I totally forgot Fowler played...it must have been at least a few games for us? Andy Cole, Dwight York....it's crazy the the kind of big names we used to attract, even if a bit past their sell-by-date.
  7. Crazy. Get the linesman a gift basket. He (correctly) saved us at the end. The main ref gave another ridiculous, absurd last minute penalty but it was offside. And he gave us a number of absurd yellows for time wasting, when there wasn't any of that. TM needs to ask the FA what is going on with all these penalties. We definitely worked hard for the win and deserved it. For all their initiative, Bolton didn't have the edge to do anything about it - though Raya made a number of solid saves. Reed works hard too but made a number of shockingly poor passes, one that almost cost us a goal. TM saw that we couldn't regain control of the midfield and made the double change in CM, though that didn't have a dramatic effect. We need a ball winner. In attack we always look like we can create something, I thought Palmer made a very good run and pass for our goal - he has talent for sure, but is a bit too casual in his attitude right now. This Championship is a heck of a rollercoaster, as promised.
  8. We were playing good until we scored - has been total surrender of initiative ever since unfortunately. Raya and the cap keeping us in it. We are better than them but need to fire up the engines second half or we can lose this easily.
  9. How long before VAR? Bs to anyone who says these things even out.
  10. Are my facts wrong or is that 3 penalties in a row for Lenihan? Is he going for some record?
  11. There must be a serious re-evaluation of what is going on at the end of matches, because things clearly ain't right.
  12. that full time whistle ...like ice cold milk after a ghost pepper
  13. After all the positivity over the transfer window....it seems that Mowbray doesn't have faith that any of the new signings are starters just yet. Added to that there seems to be confusion over where they should play, if/when they do play. The talent is there but he needs to find the right formula.
  14. Absolute sheit. Might as well have stayed in League 1 if we are going to throw every game past the 90th mark. Dack may be our little Messi, but defensively we have no grit. Reed cost us the game. Ridiculous to give away a free kick there at that point in the game. 2 points on him. Brereton is also a big worry. Did nothing but lose the ball and fail to even get the basics done when he came on. At best he is one for the future, but nothing about the hype around him has been true so far.
  15. We've played well, move the ball around well, winning set pieces, but then doing nothing with them. Lenihan has had plenty of headers in their box but with no end product. Need to sharpen that a bit.
  16. What a loony game. Everything could have happened. Great on the ref for getting it right and Mulgrew for holding his nerve twice...and at the same time, we really had the chances to win it, but not the quality. Maybe it can be said we can be happy with a draw given the triple crucial injuries today, but....it really can't be said enough how important it is to get reinforcements. If any game will prove that, it's this one.
  17. Wow. Is today Friday the 13th or something? Everything that could have gone wrong, has gone wrong today.
  18. Getting some crucial passing wrong, tempted to say we need changes, but the whole problem is we haven't been able to bring in reinforcements. Need some of these players to really step up right now.
  19. Reading are barely playing anything that even looks like football, and somehow they are 2-0 up. Just paper thin at the back.
  20. Well that was entertaining. They should never wash those shooting boots.
  21. Worrying start to the season. Cant really blame the players, but when you step up a league, you need to improve the squad conaiderably. Its pretty straight forward. I understand its very difficult on the transfer market, but what is the alternative? I think we were prommised very hopeful things over thr summer, but those didnt come out to pass, and now we are paying in terms of results.
  22. I feel that we haven't replaced Armstrong, and that is a big worry. He provided much needed sharpness that is hard to come by.
  23. Venkys and the poison they have infected this club with are always the first to blame. After that, probably both. But easier to get a new manager than squad of new players.
