This game, as well as England's world cup, was over when Rooney was sent-off. I mean sure the team held it's own even down to 10 men....but c'mon, you're not gonna win with Peter Crouch alone upfront. This was ofcourse vastly due to Sven's shortsightedness, but the red card was the deathblow for this game. As for the penalties - it's simple - England can't win a game on penalties, no matter how well they are prepared. As soon as the ref blew the whistle for the end of the 120 mins, England were out.

Honestly, what else did you expect from him ? He plays like this all the time in the premiership, it's his style, his gameplan.

I think this game should remind us why we won't get the CL. The real reason. It's not that we're not good enough, or that Arsenal and Spurs are that much better, it's because we are a small club and can't match up our opponmnets finances. great result for us with Bolton losing. This puts us firmly in charge of 6th place, it's ours to lose now. As for CL league...the way I see things we can afford one draw, at the most two (Liverpool and Chelsea I guess) and win everything else. It's a bit unfair to ask that from the players I think, just getting the 6th place will be fantastic. But we have to give it our all, and who knows...

the reff was a complete idiot. he got everything wrong today, both for us and Wigan. and the 2 mintues given at the end were a disgrace. I didn't think we played that bad, but Wigan cleared everything and 99% of all crosses ended up in their keeper's arms. Very frustrating. 2 points dropped today, but we have to keep on fighting.

dammit as optimistic as I try to look at things, I don't see us getting that CL spot. We need to do something really special to pull it off, and rely on the other teams slipping a few times. 6th place for a UEFA spot looks more realistic, and I think we'll get it.

A firecracker of a game, but hurts a lot that we lost it. We played some good football and really gave it a go I thought, but Spurs' attack was just too sharp. They really have the cutting-edge needed to get them in the CL this season, and we couldn't cope with it. Keane especially was supurb. But we have to keep on fighting.

Thankfully we're still in the game thanks to that, but we need to find a way to stop Keane.

Massive game this, one that we mustn't lose. I'm going for 1-1...which won't be a bad result. C"MON ROVERS
