  1. The flip side of the coin is that we didn’t lose despite being outplayed in the second half and entering the final minute a goal down. Depends on whether you are a glass half full man or not I suppose.
  2. The draw with Sunderland was not a bad result!
  3. Poor result against a struggling side. However, they are improving under Selles. Tired and uninspiring today, but we will lose some games and we are in a much better place than last year when we lost to Hull after Xmas and looked a complete shambles with a manager who wanted the sack! Upcoming couple of games are obviously very tough, but I do think this side/manager have more resilience than Rovers of recent years, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we picked up some points 🤞🏼. Victims of our own success really as we have massively reframed our expectations since August when we were one of the favourites for relegation. A bit of perspective should make people feel a little merrier this evening!
  4. Is it just me or was Ohashi in an offside position when the ball ricocheted off Dolan’s head for the goal yesterday??
  5. I thought we played the conditions perfectly today. Eustace-ball at its finest. We created very little but we didn’t need to. We played sensibly and held out comfortably. That is excellent coaching. Enjoyed the fact we were 1 nil up at HT despite having 0 shots! I make that 9 points since the international break. 3 x 1-0 wins benefiting from an offside goal, a pen and an Og. Bloody love Eustace-ball! Living near Hull this game has special significance for me me…so thank you Eustace and the lads!
  6. I can confirm the current weather in East Yorkshire is ‘light drizzle’.
  7. Eustace would be a very unlikely fit for Hull City as their owner is obsessed with attacking football.
  8. We’ve scored 2 goals in 7 games and one of them was a lucky deflection. Alarm bells.
  9. A solid point. People seem to forget that we were a single goal from relegation a few short months ago. If picking up points to prevent a similar scenario this season is boring then so be it.
  10. Hyam is a major weak link at the moment and doesn’t seem to have ever regained his confidence. A spell on the bench is his best chance of rekindling the form of 2 seasons ago. I think there’s a good defender in there somewhere! The back 4 should be JRC/Brittain Carter Batth and Beck against Swansea. Eustace doesn’t seem like a manager who drops players readily and is liked by the players for being loyal, so I’m concerned Hyam and Pears might be starting for some time yet…
  11. People have short memories. A few months ago we were a Leicester goal away from relegation. We have not become prime Barca overnight and will lose games and put in some bad performances.
  12. We need a response like we had at Leeds last season after the Bristol City thrashing. Losing games and bad performances happen. The way a team responds is far more telling.
  13. Draw your away games and win at home. Ugly display but an away point.
  14. Was expecting an underwhelming draw/defeat yesterday after some moderate excitement about recent performances and signings. How wrong I was! You will seldom see a more comfortable win! The big difference between this season and our good JDT starts is the strength in depth we suddenly have. On a shoestring, the recruitment team has performed miracles. I’m also encouraged by our new found ability to score late goals and come from behind to gain points. I hope this marks a change in our collective mental fortitude. I’ve felt for years under TM and JDT that we were mentally fragile and would always stutter when the pressure was raised. You don’t get that feeling about this team and Eustace…..Might be an interesting season!
  15. It’s the law. You can’t force someone to come to work if they don’t want to and you can’t say no if they want to quit. It’s not a gulag.
  16. The story that has been reported is that he offered to walk away for free though. Maybe the story is rubbish and I’m not sure where it came from. I’m sure this seldom happens in reality but he could walk away for free if he felt it was the best thing for the club. As I say, he’s not a fan and has every right to put himself first so I understand why he wouldn’t do this.
  17. Not according to ACAS “You cannot reject an employee's resignation. However, a conversation might help you find out if there are problems that can be resolved. This might be enough for the employee to choose to stay”
  18. Can an employer actually do this though? There’s more to this than meets the eye. It’s his right to resign surely?
  19. He downed tools as he clearly wanted sacking and his ambivalence filtered down to the team. He should have just resigned if he was unhappy but instead it dragged on to the detriment of the club and by the time he finally left we were completely broken. I’m sure they would have accepted his resignation once things turned sour. I don’t blame him for this as he’s not a fan of the club and has every right to look after his own personal interests. Of course the ultimate blame lies with our ridiculous owners/Waggot. JDT is an excellent coach and was let down terribly.
  20. I don’t feel Eustace gets the credit he deserves for keeping Rovers in the championship last season. He touched on what a huge challenge it was in his post match interview. He inherited a team that were almost totally devoid of any confidence. People forget just how awful we looked in Dec/Jan time after JDT had essentially downed tools. Picking up that group and generating a team spirit again must have been a huge task. He appreciated that the only way we were going to survive was by scraping together unspectacular draws. Anything more expansive would probably not have worked. Whether by design or luck, Waggot might just have stumbled upon a gem of a manager!
  21. I’m hoping they make T-shirts, prints etc commemorating the Weimann strike like they did for the Manuel Benson goal! A thing of incredible beauty!
  22. It would be nice if they could announce it soon.
