  1. Would strongly advise others to ignore people who disagree on social media. Don’t be too disheartened or discouraged by their slightly desperate sounding protestations. You are never going to convince everyone and I really believe they are in a small minority now. They are entitled to an opinion so just ignore them and stay focussed on the task at hand.
  2. The letter is excellent! Kudos and thanks to those who composed it. Professionally written and difficult to dispute the facts stated. I don’t attend Ewood regularly as I don’t live locally, but I will certainly boycott from now on. I do spend stupid amounts on merch for me and my son though…NAPM until they’re gone!! It’s time to unite as a fanbase to get rid of our traitorous owners and their stooges. Vive la resistance! 💪🏽
  3. I completely respect you for going to matches as you clearly enjoy it and you should keep going if it makes you happy. You’re not a mug for pursuing what you enjoy. You should also respect those who want to protest or boycott as it makes some people miserable to see how the club is shrinking. I think if I lived locally I would probably keep going too. Regardless of off field matters, I can’t help but support the team. Apathy has set in to a degree but I still have the love for the team that is quickly rekindled with a couple of wins. My worry is where the club will be in 5 or 10 years. I’ve managed to convince my 8 year old son to support the club (poor thing) but with the rate of decline currently I’m worried there won’t be much left to support in the future. Rovers have been important in my life and I want the same for my son. I think this is a legitimate concern and as such I will support any (legal) protests.
  4. I think what you are describing is poor footballers. It makes their footballing skills unlikeable but not them as people. That’s just overly harsh.
  5. I think they seem alright. It’s not a lack of effort that’s the issue, they’re just not good enough. It’s hard to bond with the fans when things are going badly on the pitch.
  6. Disappointing result but overwhelming apathy from me. Feel for the fans on the long drive home. Was important not to lose today against a team who are bang out of form and bang average. We seem to be buckling at crucial times which is a really bad sign. Losing so much championship experience is really costing us. You can play decent football but lose games like today due to a lack of championship nous. A previous poster mentioned how scandalous it was to sell Hyam at the last minute. Well his team just equalised in the last minute again whilst we failed to muster any sort of chance in injury time.
  7. Pretty dire stuff but didn’t deserve to lose and should have won with the decent chances we had. The positives are that the match finished (not always assured at Ewood park and it was a shocking spectacle) and we didn’t lose or concede with the last touch again. Oxford not getting 3 points on our patch is important I suppose. Other than that it was a turgid affair with two poor teams who look like they will be in the relegation mix.
  8. No doubt we’ll manage to get this match completed. The drains might be blocked but despite that this club is heading down it at a rapid speed.
  9. This has home defeat written all over it. A repeat of the QPR experience for fans. Will probably be a monsoon just after we lose. The club kind of deserves what it gets.
  10. The complete lack of any communication from the club is appalling today. Just tell people what’s happening for God’s sake! Even if no decision has been made and we are waiting for a further pitch inspection then tell the people this. Oxford is a hell of a drive and they deserve to be kept up to date to inform their decision of whether the drive or not. Travelling in this weather is not without any risk and surely it’s their duty to keep people informed. Incredibly amateur and the overwhelming impression is that they are choosing to ignore the situation to save face.
  11. I’ve spent many an hour scratching my head trying to work out why they bother to continue owning the club and punishment and revenge towards the fans is one of the only explanations that makes any sense. It’s not just the snowball though, it’s the ongoing criticism of their ownership too. As pampered Billionaires they are probably not used to being called out and will see this as disrespectful. Especially coming from subordinates like us!
  12. It’s a bleak midwinter for Rovers fans. A week with 2 last kick of the game equalisers conceded and a second home match of the season postponed whilst leading in the second half due to our dilapidated facilities. I don’t think our chances of recruiting new supporters are being helped here. It’s meant to be entertainment and they want our money for the privilege. Bah humbug.
  13. The owners and their stooges deserve the ridicule they will rightly receive from the footballing world. Happening twice shines a light on our decaying facilities. The players and the fans don’t deserve the humiliation though. I suppose on the bright side, anything that piles on the pressure and hastens their departure is a good thing.
  14. There’s not much left to say. We are a shambles. A complete laughing stock. The facilities are derelict and the squad is heading in the same direction. Until the owners depart there’s just very little point anymore. We are circling the footballing drain (sorry to mention drains so soon).
  15. Well he has to decide whether the risk injury or the risk of losing a lead is greater. I think after the events at Wrexham I’d have gone with leaving players on in favour of brining on Gueye and De Neve!
  16. It actually is partly the officials fault on this occasion as we should have had a corner which was tactically the right thing to do when preserving a lead and they guessed and gave a goal kick. It was so late on the corner would have probably been the last action of the game.
  17. I agree entirely. It is sad that plucky performances against Wrexham and PNE are seen as a ‘good display’ nowadays but it is where we are. I can’t imagine anyone is actually content with the overall direction of travel. We are circling the footballing drain. If we manage to stay up this season which we are just about on course to do then what happens next season? Without a change of ownership or a Venkys personality transplant the only way is down. That aside, it’s entirely reasonable to compare the squads of Wrexham/Ipswich with ours and say that the team has done well with the tools it has at their disposal. The overall downgrading of the squad is not the fault of the players. They can only do their best and I don’t think effort or application is the issue (apart from Gueye who appears to have given up). I think we are actually exceeding our expectations by a considerable amount when you look at the squad and some credit is due. Late heartache aside these are 2 good points on paper! The more controversial discussion is about Val. I happen to think he is doing well with a limited team and for some reason I quite like him. I also have massive reservations about his overall integrity given his apparent accord with the owners and stooges.
  18. It kind of is the officials fault for giving a goal kick at the end when it was a corner. That would probably been the end of the match and a win had that not happened.
  19. Yes obviously it would be better if we had squad depth and could make decent subs and rotate the squad but we don’t. I’m not suggesting he never makes another substitution! I just think if there is nobody capable of replacing a player and you are trying to conserve a lead you might have to risk it for 10 mins. Especially as the exact same thing happened 4 days ago!
  20. Just don’t make the substitution at all!
  21. AI has missed a festive trick there. Surely ‘Val’s making a list, he’s checking it twice, Gueye and De Neve are naughty not nice….’
  22. Fair play to him. He’s livid and he’s going to get a fine but I like to see his anger and passion. We have been on the wrong side of so many decisions this season not least the full replay 11v11 we had to play tonight. We are several points down from where we should be. Granted a lot of that is of our own making (why sit back and why bring Gueye and De Neve on AGAIN!!?), but shocking refereeing and bad luck has also played its part. He needs to use the perceived injustice and heartbreak to breathe fire into their bellies! 🔥
  23. Unbelievable that this should happen twice in 4 days. Poor game management sitting back and poor substitutions (maybe if we’re trying to preserve the 3 points just leave your best players on despite them being knackered?). That being said it’s also rotten luck and the performances overall have deserved more than the 2 points we have taken this week. It’s also an excellent point in isolation when you compare the depth of both sides and if you’re honest pretty much everyone had us down to lose tonight (myself included). Similar to Saturday the lads did well but were let down by the pitiful squad depth again. The owners and their stooges as always are to blame! I feel sorry for the players as they are working hard and I have mixed feelings regarding Val. I really look at our squad and see a side who should be comfortably relegated. We are comfortably exceeding my very low expectations. Add in the injuries and hectic schedule and the 2 points this week are actually pretty impressive. Although it stings like hell, I think fairness and perspective matter.
  24. Conceding so late is one of the worst feelings in football and it seems to happen to us far too frequently. The criticism on Weds was justified as we were absolutely abysmal. Today they did well and a point at Wrexham is a damn good point considering the money they have spent and their home form (beating Cov!). The degree of criticism seems unfair though this evening. Of course Mistakes were made but there invariably is when a goal is conceded and hindsight always provides opportunities to say things should have been done differently. The truth is that the squad is of appalling quality and depth and we have multiple injuries to key players. The bench is the weakest I’ve seen at this level and the players have 3 matches in a week so subs will need to be made. We all know that this is the result of our feckless billionaire owners and their sickening stooges and they should receive all the ire. The players on the other hand put in a decent shift and actually gained a valuable point in a match we should lose convincingly (if you compare the two sides).
  25. I’m sure Pasha and Rudy are moving heaven and earth to extend his contract!
