  1. I have been approached by the wife of a Rovers fan who sadly died from dementia a few years ago. She has his collection of programmes that she wants to get rid of and hopes they can be found a good home rather than being thrown away. They are not especially old - some date from 1992 but most are from 2001-2006. I also have a lot off programmes myself which my wife would also like to get out of the house and in truth I'm quite happy to let go (I'll be keeping a few though!). If anyone wants them or knows of a good home please pm me. Separately I asked the club first to see if they knew of a good home and I got this from Nick Cooney at the Community Trust: - We are looking out for pre 1950s programmes, plus any original items, kit etc to form part of our future museum, if you do hear of anything or descendants of ex players, that would be great. So once again pm me if you can help.
  2. Maybe it's got harder recently Kenny. We last went around Christmas and got in at a few days notice.
  3. There’s an interesting article in today’s Times on Tyler Morton. Sadly I imagine it’s behind their paywall.
  4. I'd forgotten about this thread. It was great to see 3 Lancashire pubs in the Top 50 gastropubs list this year. Parkers Arms at number 1, Freemasons at 3 and the White Swan at 7. The Parkers Arms is a great quirky experience but for me the White Swan is the pick of them. Never had anything other than a superb meal there at not stupid prices.
  5. We will be in the play-offs (or not) by the time of the next meeting on 16/5. I think the club will be offering more price incentives if the last games are important though.
  6. We can’t have done as United weren’t in the PL that season. I also have been to Bramall Lane when the cricket ground was there. When I went to Sheffield University in October 1971 they were top of the First Division (and Wednesday bottom of Div2) and the cricket ground was still there.
  7. Have a read of the minutes when they are published tomorrow. I'll offer my view then.
  8. I did consider getting the train but the prospect of going between Manchester and Sheffield twice put me off!
  9. That's true but I assume BigUts will be using Merseyrail first which shouldn't have those sort of issues.
  10. I suspect 15K is too optimistic. As of Monday night less than 12K had been sold, including about 150 from Reading. It seems a tall order for us to shift more than 3,000 in two days. Particularly given the weather forecast of heavy rain from tea time.
  11. BigUts should be OK, as he will be travelling on Sunday when the game is. The strike is on Saturday.
  12. I have finished the minutes and they should be out on the website on Thursday. In answer to the posts above (which I did not see before the meeting but no matter as we had it covered), Gregg Broughton came as planned and we had a long discussion about the transfer window and plenty more about his role. I will answer on one point above though - should we get to the FA Cup semi final there will be merchandise to buy, albeit obviously not replica shirts.
  13. Rovers asked for the extra 1,000 tickets this morning. They were printed in Sheffield and brought over. They arrived at 2.05, on sale at 2.30 and sold out by 4.30. There is an outside chance of a few more tickets being made available.
  14. Dominic Hyam is one of them.
  15. We have already put the question to the club, so should have a response tonight.
  16. As it happens the next Fans Forum is on this Monday, so we can at least ask the question if necessary.
  17. It’s quite likely that Sheffield United will only release extra tickets if Rovers agree to pay for them all, which obviously puts the financial risk on Rovers if they don’t sell them. So it may depend on how quickly the rest of the first batch sell out.
  18. Yes, now back on sale in BU. Just managed to get my ticket from my hotel in Zanzibar!
  19. I tried to book a ticket about an hour ago but couldn’t as I didn’t have my full credit card details with me then. Ivey just tried again and there are none. Maybe the bottom tier is now sold out?
  20. My fault I think. It was pointed out to me very soon after they were posted and I forgot to send an amendment.
  21. Burnley’s 94th minute winner and Fleetwood winning means the chances of them getting through round 5 and therefore the derby game being moved have greatly increased.
  22. There was something odd about the BBC website tonight. I was on a train down to London so the signal was intermittent. When I started I had line-ups and live text, although there was precious little of the latter. I rebooted the site and then only had line-ups and scores, of which there none while I was on the train.
