We can’t have done as United weren’t in the PL that season. I also have been to Bramall Lane when the cricket ground was there. When I went to Sheffield University in October 1971 they were top of the First Division (and Wednesday bottom of Div2) and the cricket ground was still there.

I suspect 15K is too optimistic. As of Monday night less than 12K had been sold, including about 150 from Reading. It seems a tall order for us to shift more than 3,000 in two days. Particularly given the weather forecast of heavy rain from tea time.

Rovers asked for the extra 1,000 tickets this morning. They were printed in Sheffield and brought over. They arrived at 2.05, on sale at 2.30 and sold out by 4.30. There is an outside chance of a few more tickets being made available.

It’s quite likely that Sheffield United will only release extra tickets if Rovers agree to pay for them all, which obviously puts the financial risk on Rovers if they don’t sell them. So it may depend on how quickly the rest of the first batch sell out.
