  1. I got mine half an hour ago and there were around 200 left and a steady queue. I presume a sell out wasn't expected given they said tickets would be available on the gate, unless they have more they can release.
  2. Ooops. I was going to buy on the gate but I'd better nip down and get one today.
  3. The rain is a good plan but only if you're near the station at both ends. I commuted from Penwortham to Warrington for the best part of 20 years although not since 2005. I could reckon on an hour most days to Great Sankey to the west of Warrington, so I didn't have to go into town. But many days it could be much worse. Coming home was always 20 minutes or so quicker. Definitely opt for an 8am start, which will be a lot quicker than 9am.
  4. Clearly a higher class of clientele in Preston - the LEP has a weekly wine column.
  5. Sit in Stand E under The Point Matt. As well as being right above one of the main toilet blocks there are some more at the top which are always quiet no matter what the crowd.
  6. He's not even current first choice at North End. He's started the first league game and has been on the bench since.
  7. No, but tickets will be on sale on the night so whatever it is they must be assuming we won't sell out.
  8. He was born in Leuchars in Scotland and has played for Scotland at under 19 and under 21 level. He did leave Scotland for southern England at 18 months though, hence the accent.
  9. Aren’t you already there Joey? As I posted on the Bradford thread my son lives a short walk from the ground so I’ll be there. Another excuse to visit my new granddaughter as well!
  10. I’ve been twice but only for athletics. My son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter live within walking distance. I can see a grandpa visit…..
  11. That’s why I quoted it, as it is so out of line with Rovers’ fans view.
  12. There are. I particularly noted the comment that our first choice left back must be amazing as the one that played last night was outstanding?
  13. The club have already said that they are going to reinstate the consultation meetings.
  14. Can this thread be merged with the one Jim started yesterday?
  15. It felt about right to me. Three drinks breaks whilst Phillips, Travis and Kaminski had treatment, probably 6/7 minutes minimum. 7 substitutes and some general time wasting by us. I said to my mate just before that I reckoned 10 minutes but I couldn’t argue with 11.
  16. I have been a Rovers fan and coming to games since the early 60s despite being born 25 miles away and never having lived within 10 miles of Ewood Park. I assume I've never been a real fan.
  17. Swansea appear to be playing again at Brentford…….
  18. Whilst that might be a sound principle it won't apply on Tuesday night. Lancasire Police already have Preston, Bolton and Fleetwood at home, although none are high profile games. Only Bolton are at home in Greater Manchester, to Morecambe, so I can't see them objecting to a game at Wigan as well.
  19. They’re getting there Dom. the feeding was a bit problematic for a while but now she’s guzzling like there’s no tomorrow. Just need to crack being asleep all day and awake all night. Hopefully the house move should be a bit easier now we have sorted through a lot of stuff already. They are only moving about 400 yards away.
  20. We’ve had a few wobbles in the first few days - an infection which has kept Mum and baby in hospital still and a couple of challenging nights but it looks like they’re coming home tomorrow. In the meantime Dad and I have been clearing stuff out of their one bed flat to make some baby space- they should have been in a new house by now but it’s been delayed from March to now end is September. Humping stuff to storage has been a warm job in 30 degrees today.
  21. It’s the other way round JHRover. (Confusingly I typed it wrong in my initial post). They were originally Hartlepools United. In 1969 three towns, Hartlepool, West Hartlepool and Hart merged to make Hartlepool Borough and the team also became Hartlepool to match. Then, in 1977, the team brought back United so their official name is Hartlepool United. That’s why it’s older fans who remember them as Hartlepools.
  22. After a long wait, having to take the IVF route, the pandemic getting in the way, having to go private and then a miscarriage my wonderful daughter-in-law delivered a beautiful granddaughter late last night and we have just managed to meet Alina now. Quite a weekend to arrive with her team at the top of the table. It will be her team despite living within walking distance of West Ham’s ground.
