  1. One of the marketing guys at Umbro is a Rovers fan, may have something to do. I'll ask the question
  2. No. I think if Dack leaves we need to use the money to strengthen our defence first then whatever is left we could put towards Gally or the like.
  3. Absolute dinosaurs some of you lot!! Despise Venkys and everything they stand for yet slate the local owner of a small club trying to build his club and expand the outreach to secure the future for the club. As for Stanley being rivals on or off the pitch i think you need to wake up and realise what year it is. Holt never stated that Hyndburn is for Stanley fans only, simply that when it comes to the community trust it's a lot harder to get kids and new fans on board because, A. they receive a fraction of money from the PL that Rovers do, B. Rovers following for obvious reasons stretches further afield than Stanleys. Do i believe Rovers should be able to take their work into the community wherever they feel fit? Absolutely, but why should this stop Holt wanting a bigger portion of the marketshare and a bit more to spend to help him do that.
  4. Andy Holt highlights this point perfectly in some of his twitter threads. Fans expect instant results, in turn owners spend money that isn't sustainable for the club, gambling on the chance they might make the big time. Rovers did this when we first came down from PL, handing out silly wages and fees and it backfired and we got stung by FFP which undoubtedly stalled our progression. If the voices in India decided to stop bankrolling us we could have been the ones staring down the barrel of a gun. I want to this club live on forever and if it means doing things little by little then so be it.
  5. Im sure TM will be frustrated just as you are, no doubt Gallagher was his main target but Southampton weren't playing ball until they got someone else in, but that couldn't happen until they got rid of Austin who they wanted 10mill for. I'm sure TM had money to spend and we could have had bids accepted for BA, CA but we would have been offering them a packet of crisps and a pint in the blue bar after the match. It's all well and good spending big money on transfer fee but with that comes silly wages and sometimes even more silly agents fees. As i mentioned previously, if anything we are overachieving at the moment for our first season in the championship, very few teams go back to back. I think TM has been smart and saved his money, if we don't make the play offs, it's hardly a big deal, we have a whole summer to boost the squad for next season. Sheff Utd are the perfect example of this.
  6. Former glories mean nothing, we've been stung with that more than once.
  7. I Still believe he will end up paying for himself. Agree not the instant impact you would want or expect but he's 19, Nuttall got a few years on him but i see a lot more potential in BB.
  8. My point exactly, Boro haven't done anything this window.
  9. Either way, BB sounds like a steal compared to that. Think people need to calm down on the whole ambition stuff, we were out priced, simple as that, instead of panic buying anyone for the sake of it we shut up shop early. Correct me if i'm wrong but Boro haven't done anything this window either and even the clubs that have made signings, they are hardly going to change the shape of the league. We got to where we are with this squad, there is no reason why we cant push on with this squad and make the play offs. If we don't its our first season in the championship and if anything we have overachieved up to this point. COYB
  10. heard it was inly 1.5??
  11. Personally do think we will see Chapman play this season, can only imagine TM means, he is not ready to be playing constantly for fitness concerns or even the worry that he may re injure himself. Think they will have him in the gym working on conditioning and getting a run out for the 23's for the match fitness. Last month of the season is my guess, give us something extra for that final play off push.
  12. Correct. Would have to pay them regardless, the tribunal fee in the summer could be more than a transfer fee now seeing as it is based of previous experience + future potential.
  13. Graeme Bailey @GraemeBailey · 42m Harry Chapman set to complete move to Blackburn after deal was finally agreed with Middlesbrough - Boro have a big sell-on included. A huge talent, who will surely go on to be a Premier League player in the future - but he needs to start showing it.
  14. If we didn't cruise the game i think TM would have brought Travis off after 70 mins, he looked shot and gave the ball away a few times towards the end. Absolute top class beforehand though.
  15. Unpopular opinion alert: I've said it before but i still don't see very much in Nuttall, yes he has been in the right place at the right time on a few occasions but apart from that i don't see what he brings. He's proven himself at u23 level but don't feel like that talent translates in the first team. Both Samuel and Brereton like to get the ball and run with it, even if they are going nowhere with it they are showing a sign of intent. Nutt seems uninterested to run and win balls.
  16. Loan no doubt. Think he's on silly money
  17. Reed and Arma swapped wings constantly throughout, never gave Hull fullbacks a chance. Absolutely superb tactics from TM today.
  18. Correct he did. Can't understand people when Dack doesn't score for a few, got the assist today and gets his body everywhere, absolute handful for the defenders, even if he's just holding the ball up he does it in a way that the opposition players are in a spin, not to mention there was a lovely little megs from him in the 1st.
  19. Firstly what a pathetic call from the club. As someone who lives abroad I loved watching those videos especially last season, to be able to feel like i was there celebrating was special. I pay $180 a season to watch all Rovers games on iFollow anyway, usually followed by the official highlights on YT so hardly as if i'm taking any revenue from the B*****ds. Some people have mentioned that it could be a PL/Sky directive, now i am absolutely no expert but wouldn't what the lad is doing fall under the fair use copyright law? Not to mention if it was some sort of copyright infringement the lad should have received notice from EFL/Sky directly not from Waggots Maggots (thanks whoever coined that, i like it). Would be nice to see the club work with people who are willing to put themselves out there and have a genuine love for the club instead of alienating even more of the fanbase. Unless Briggsyboy is refused on the day would love to still see his coverage of away matches.
  20. Was very critical of Rovers and TM's line-up & subs on twitter during game but will happily admit i know nothing. Nevertheless a shocking game of football. Travis: played just okay those first 80 mins then turned it on in the last 10. Unpopular opinion: really don't think Nuttall can make the grade, did well in the air but apart from that he always seems to get caught up and lost, he can obviously score goals, loan spell in L2 would be ideal for him imo. On his goal today, yes he got himself into the right position but knew nothing about it, 2 deflections, onto his head and in, even Chris Brown wouldn't have missed. Lenihan & Rodwell: both solid at the back. Bell: surely can't keep his place, was saved by Benno moving left in 2nd half. TM must have Benno & Reed on repeat, standard tireless effort from both. All in all, much needed 3 points and clean sheet, must push on now. COYB!
  21. You would be right for 19/20 PL clubs but this is Chelsea we are talking about, they are simply nothing more than a player farm. They couldn't care less, it's costing them peanuts to develop players and they know that regardless of how many games they play at some point someone will pop up with a $5-10 mill offer. Any player they don't think will fit the model they would be released before they were given a pro contract.
  22. Im still pissed Shearer never thanked us on twitter when he left for Newcastle. ? What a load of shite, people need to get a grip.
  23. Shrewd bit of business from Mowbray if you ask me. Same with Armstrong, two England youth internationals, half a decent season for Brereton and the worse we would do is get our money back, look at Conor Whickham, spent the last few years bouncing round for 10-12 million fees.
  24. Doubt it. Cup matches weren't last season
