  1. You're talking to a card-carrying member of the JDT fan club who was devastated that the Venkys poisoned the well so badly that JDT paid to get out of his contract. He's a fantastic manager. Eustace is a Championship clogger - I just feel he's being unfairly crucified on here because he's followed JDT.
  2. Not quite. Eustace has steadied the ship, but he has absolutely nothing to throw on upfront to change a game... and the starting options outside of Szmodics are shit to begin with. Sheff Weds have gone on a ridiculous run (by hook or crook) - they were dead and buried at Christmas. If they stay up their manager is Manager of the Season without a doubt.
  3. If you'd given Mowbray's budget to JDT we'd be playing Premier League football right now. I don't know how he managed it, because he's far from charming, but he managed to convince the owners to back him with significant cash and allowed him to have free run of the place (appointed Waggott, Venus was our defacto Head of Recruitment etc).
  4. Picked him up from Aston Villa last year: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nathan-dlamini/profil/spieler/1112481
  5. Yep, incredibly lucky. You make your own luck with the way they play - just relentlessly positive and attacking - but just look at our game at Ewood. Two 'offside' goals and a GK throwing a weak shot into his own net.
  6. Under this regime? Absolutely. I don't have the stomach to watch my team slowly sink down the leagues with absentee owners.
  7. He's a better shot stopper and better positionally than Pears. Pears is slightly better at crosses - but he's still a puncher, rather than a catcher - and better with his feet.
  8. xG doesn't take into account who takes the shot. It's why players over and under perform their xG.
  9. Nixon's response on Twitter as to why they won't sell is "they want the Premier League" (i.e they want to leave us in the state they found us in). Absolutely nothing they do remotely backs this statement up.
  10. Sell Pears to another Championship team - if not, League 1. Try to sell Wahlstedt to a European side, but of the two he's the one I'd rather keep. If you sell both, get a good Championship GK in and an older, cheaper, but reliable backup. If you sell one just get the good Championship GK in.
  11. Does it really need organising? We all know what happens at the end of the last game of the season - the players come back out with their families. An 80% empty stadium was the fans showing that they were thoroughly pissed off with what they've seen this season.
  12. Vardy really does have the personality of a 5 year old hopped up on Sunny D doesn't he? What a clown.
  13. He'll be playing in the First XI shortly - we're awful this year.
  14. The Loan Manager at Brighton will be bitterly disappointed with Moran this season. After a bright start he tired, waned and never recovered. He hasn't looked up for the fight for months - that's a massive blot in his copybook.
  15. Any DoF and Head Coach worth their salt will realise we have a massive problem between the sticks. If they don't resolve that issue then you're simply papering over the cracks with your other transfer moves.
  16. They're the cheapest way, yes, but they still cost money. For the premium loans - like Diallo, who carried Sunderland last year - you have to pay a loan fee and contribute to their wages (if not entirely cover them). PNE were quoted £1m to loan Tom Cannon back this season (before he was sold to Leicester). We've had our transfer and wage budgets slashed for years - we had to loan out Buckley to afford Moran's wages. I guarantee Chrisene, Ayari and the French CB whose name I'm not bothering to Google were free loans with minimal wage contributions 'cos their parent clubs were desperate to get them game time.
  17. Realistically it's 2 of 18 - cos we're not getting anything at Leicester and Sheffield Wednesday are getting something from Sunderland.
  18. Same EFL that delay punishing Sheffield Utd et al for financial irregularities until they get promoted so they don't have to deal with it - rather than, y'know, docking them 10 points in their promotion season.
  19. We were fine against Sheffield Wednesday. The GK literally threw two into his own net.
  20. Our losses are a flat £20m every year without fail. We've pared down the playing squad tremendously in the last couple of seasons and have brought in £22m+ (not including Raya or add ons for Wharton) in transfer fees, yet it's still £20m. It's no coincidence that the owners are being investigated for tax fraud.
