Pretty much - they all want to play as a #10, but they're all behind Szmodics in the pecking order. We need pace and physicality upfront next season - a CF and two quick wide players would make a world of difference. Obviously we won't get them under these owners.

Why do people even listen to manager (or player for that matter) interviews? They're never going to tell you what they actually feel. I'm sure Eustace is sat in his office with Gardiner thinking "bloody hell, we have absolutely no pace and physicality across the front 3". He's not going to come out and tell the Radio Lancs / Lancs Telegraph that though is he! At a normal club you judge the manager by their actions in the transfer market - obviously we're not a normal club and intentionally scupper transfer incomings.

I think that's your problem. We've annoyed an incredibly talented manager so much that he paid to leave the club. We've brought in a steady Championship calibre manager, but fans can't help but compare him to what came before. We struck gold with JDT and Waggott / Venkys pissed it away.

What's the point in having a temper tantrum about the owners in the stands? They literally do not give one single fuck about our opinions and we're powerless to force a change in ownership. They've shown that over the last 13 years - they bizarrely keep pumping money in (until this latest tax fraud case) so won't run foul of the regulators and can continue to destroy our once great club at their leisure.

Sadly they never make those calls in our favour - hence blaming the officials.

They're not a 'patch' on the previous lot because they're simply not allowed to spend any money. We're £23m in the black in transfers this season and have cut our wage bill by 20%. We cut it the previous season too. It's a L1 budget now.
