  1. So you're comparing yourself to the Venkys then? Cos the only comparable situation is that you've employed him as your gardener then given him 50p to do a £500 landscaping job.
  2. Did he? Surely that means we don't have to pay him anymore - which is pretty honourable of him.
  3. Who cares what PNE fans have to think? They're desperately trying to force a rivalry that simply isn't there. As I repeatedly say - Rovers are lucky to have any fans after 13 years of gross mismanagement by the owners.
  4. If he keeps us up he'll set us up as your typical mid-table Championship side - physical, good at set pieces, defensively sound and hard to beat. Hardly aspirational football, but that's the budget they've set.
  5. If they'd have stumped up a suitable loan fee, undoubtedly. I think some of you are clearly missing how dire our finances are and how much they're dictating our transfer business. We loaned out Travis and sold A. Wharton in the same window - that's not a decision by the Director of Football and the Head Coach.
  6. You can't really compare the tenures - until his last year here, Mowbray was allowed to splash the cash. You've just dismissed a whole load of players as 'they were all a million or less', yet Broughton is hung for Wahlstedt. Markanday cost £500k. Edun cost similar. Samuel the same. He had a budget that JDT and Broughton could only dream of - they've never been allowed to bring in an Ayala, or an Elliot / Reed / Harwood-Bellis / Adarabioyo (we don't fish in that top-level PL loanee pool anymore). Never been allowed to spunk £400k on their mate's son in Pears. Never been allowed to bring their smoggie friend, Downing, in on considerable wages after allowing him to miss all pre-season. Broughton and JDT spent less than £4m on three very good Championship players in the first year (Szmodics, Hyam and Brittain), then the taps were turned off. It's as simple as that and we're seeing the results on the pitch.
  7. Their defenders must be slow af - he moves like he's running in treacle.
  8. You see those goals from Rashford and Foden and realise we're a million miles away from where we were.
  9. He was awful again today. He's such a bad athlete he makes Dolan look quick. I feel for him as he's being asked to play out wide in space, but he's just not a quality option off the bench for us in this league.
  10. I genuinely think he'll go on to have a good PL career as a #10 - but yeah he's not covered himself in glory at Rovers after his initial bright start.
  11. Honestly, he's a twat for that. I can understand pulling out of tackles if you're a young loanee and don't fancy getting injured (I don't condone it, but I can understand the instinct), but he literally stopped running and let their LW pick his cross. He'd never play for me again.
  12. He's a bafflingly bad footballer. Somehow his touch is worse than his positional play. He was put in a few times today, but his first touch absolutely killed the opportunity. He must be a frustrating player to manage. He'd be useful if he actually put his 6'4" frame about more - at least you could play off him, but he's too soft to even do that.
  13. I imagine the game plan was to not gift them 2 goals. They literally created nothing.
  14. He was the messiah after Tuesday. Talk about a swing. He's clearly a decent Championship manager, but he doesn't play aspirational football and his only directive will be to keep us up every season on a shoestring. It's grim, but that's what the Venkys have reduced us to.
  15. Judging by the transfer business we did do they were perhaps wise to hang onto him. I was happy to drive him to Ipswich on deadline day for £2m, but clearly we had no plans to ever replace him. We didn't even have a recognised striker on the bench today.
  16. It's been dying for 13 years. Unrecognisable from the club the Walker Trust sold.
  17. It's not though, is it. We've been better defensively since he arrived. He's suffering from the same problems that JDT had - zero attacking options and a weak squad. Selling A. Wharton and not replacing him was suicide.
  18. What would you tell the customer if you'd (wrongly) accepted the blame for something, put measures in place to stop it then your CEO had deliberately sabotaged it again a year later? He's in a no-win situation here, short of accepting a job at a new club.
  19. Did he really tell the fans to fuck off??!
  20. And yet he's been much better than Markanday.
  21. This ref is going to get brutalised by her assessor. She'd had a mare.
  22. Swansea pulling out all the time wasting tricks in the book.
  23. How long have you been watching? He's nowhere near the top 100 players I've seen in a Rovers shirt.
