  1. Venkys bad. Broughton the anti-Christ (or doing a difficult job in trying circumstances, if you're that way inclined). Lots of loans at CB, LB, CB and CM. Two 4 month deals for an experienced CB and CM. Prize possession flogged.
  2. I visited Charleston last year on my way through to Miami (from Charlotte). Lovely city.
  3. Why does it?
  4. Sounds like there's some shady accounting going on then.
  5. The future contract and future fee will have been agreed beforehand.
  6. Maybe he simply doesn't want to field questions about the transfer window as "That's Gregg's job". He won't be happy about selling our best player and bringing in temporary solutions to tide us over until the summer though. Granted he won't be here for the rebuild.
  7. Garrett is the next one on the production line. This is the opportunity he's been waiting for. Granted I still think he needs a season at L1 to mature, but evidently we're so short handed that we're not in the business of sending our fringe First XI Academy players out on loan at the moment. I think Fleck will be counted on to play serious minutes for the rest of the season.
  8. Why is it vital? He thought he'd be allowed to buy McGuire outright before Waggot / the owners pulled the plug on all permanent transfers. He's as much in the dark as we are.
  9. A. Wharton knew he was going on Monday night. He's been in London since at least Wednesday. The money was there to be spent they've clearly simply been told they're not allowed to spend it.
  10. Broughton has clearly tried to stop the bleeding until the summer.
  11. Plymouth fans raved about him in League 1 - although even there he had a bad injury record and his minutes were carefully managed. At Ewood it was clear that he never hit the fitness levels that JDT requires as he was extremely reluctant to ever play him - I think he had 8 appearances for us? When we did see him he looked very slow - my best description of him would be a bulky, 5'10" target man with a L1 first touch.
  12. Or that's all Stoke want to commit to...
  13. It looks to me that they're committing to 3 at the back for the rest of the season. We've signed 3 CBs this window.
  14. I genuinely couldn't tell you. We're certainly weaker in CM, but we might be a damn sight better at CB and CF for all I know.
  15. I was amazed at how slow he is. I was told by my Plymouth supporting mate that's he's a pressing forward who brings great energy. He looked like he was running in treacle.
  16. He's from Nebraska so I doubt it.
  17. I think there's a player in Garrett, but he needs a L1 loan. So does Leonard really. Sadly with these owners in charge they're being relied upon for serious minutes in the Championship.
  18. Well as someone that does get down there every home match, I sincerely hope we get McGuire over the line. I'd like to watch a (potentially) good striker, if that's all the same to you.
  19. I understand that we lose money. It's the flat £20m a year figure that's clearly dodgy as hell. We've lost Dack, Brereton-Diaz, Ayala, Kaminski, Rothwell, Lenihan, Johnson etc etc from the wage bill in the last few years. All the big earners (bar Gallagher) have gone, yet that mysterious £20m figure remains. We're literally operating with loans, Academy graduates and L1 punts now.
  20. Apparently we asked Bolton for £500k at the end of his loan, so I'd assume somewhere around there.
  21. I'm still trying to understand how we routinely lose £20m when the wage bill has been absolutely obliterated. No wonder they're being investigated for tax fraud / evasion.
  22. I guarantee you've only seen one of our January transfers play before. You can't make sweeping statements about their quality before you've seen them play in a Rovers shirt. Maybe you're right, maybe they're all terrible, but you've got such a hatred for Broughton that you've written them off already. It's bizarre. For the record I think Broughton is doing a good job in very, very trying circumstances. Could he be doing a better job? Yes, but then he'd be off to a more functional club asap.
  23. It has to be JRC. He's the only one creative enough.
  24. Buckley can't play in a midfield 3, he's not athletic enough. He either has to play as a #10 (which he's not great at) or as a pivot. As I understand it, Wednesday played with a midfield 3, with Buckley playing as one of the Box-to-Box options.
  25. You don't get down to Ewood Park much then I gather?
