  1. Luke Brennan is at Wigan now - just come on. "A Liverpool lad who did briefly see action at Blackburn Rovers". So you mean a Blackburn Rovers Academy graduate then, Mr Commentator.
  2. I think his namesake is a CF - and he did play there during pre-season during those double-headers, but he's a winger / #10.
  3. He had a bad achilles / calf injury. Never been the same since.
  4. This is why going into the season with S. Wharton and Barnes as your backup CBs isn't viable.
  5. He needs 6 months to adjust to the way Mowbray plays.
  6. Haven't seen any of the goals - but I know neither Hilton or Eastham are good enough, which is why I was sweating buckets before Wahlstedt signed.
  7. It'll be Hedges wide right, Gilsenan wide left. I'd assume Buckley playing as the #10, but who knows maybe they'll want Garrett leading the press from there?
  8. We have Brittain sat on the bench too and he cost similar. He'll beat Pears out soon enough - it won't take long to establish himself as the better GK.
  9. We're watching a different game. They're the perfect Championship team - big, physical and organised. They've hardly bossed the game - we've had by far the better chances.
  10. They played over 14 minutes - if it's 30 seconds per sub then that's about right.
  11. Ipswich's #9 is a baaaaad player.
  12. 13 minutes. Like VAR it's a new rule that has been HORRIBLY applied.
  13. Mowbray having a tantrum on the sideline - things you love to see.
  14. Ipswich's #10 is having a field day.
  15. Good pass, good run, horrible finish (he just lashed it - but he was so close the pace took it past the keeper).
  16. It's your typical soft-touch Mowbray team. They're always going to give teams chances.
  17. Evidently they've got money to burn, so we'll see what their squad looks like come September.
  18. There's an international break coming up - he'll be saving himself for that. Sunderland look devoid of ideas without Diallo.
  19. I thought he was ok yesterday, besides an excellent finish for his goal. If we keep him (I'm sure they'll entertain offers) I think he has to play as a #10 behind Szmodics. I think that would hide his flaws (size / lack of pace) and accentuate his strengths (ball control / finishing).
  20. Extended highlights (everyone seems to do this better than us, I can only assume we've got a skeleton media / comms crew). Three absolute bollocks appeals for penalties imo - desperate:
  21. It's almost like he lost concentration after that backheel to Dolan (I think?) for the chance Leonard put wide. He played some sloppy passes after that and got caught in possession - got too full of himself, perhaps? There's an absolute world beater of a player in there, he just needs to smooth out the rough edges - he played two passes in the first five minutes he was on the pitch that nobody else in that match could see or pull off.
  22. After several injustices last year based on the lack of VAR I wholeheartedly agree.
  23. We're absolutely desperate for an out ball though - whether that's size at CF or pace at L/RW. There were times where Carter (especially) had all day on the ball to play a pass to the forward line, but he daren't risk it. I hate to mention them, but Harwood-Bellis to Tella was a big staple for Burnley last year - it really upsets teams when you can both play it out from the back and ping it over the top.
  24. Broughton absolutely isn't the problem here...
