  1. Nobody, which is why when Mowbray extended his contract (I have to think out of spite) when his own was being run down infuriated me. Should never have been allowed to happen - he'll be on a fortune.
  2. We created 4 better chances than them and lost. 🤷‍♂️
  3. We're sadly at the point where Dolan and Hedges have to start every game they're fit - they're not great players, but at least they offer something. They wouldn't start for Burnley / Watford / Sheffield United et al... which is part of the problem. I was very impressed with Markanday today - he has to be an impact sub going forward, he ghosted past several Rotherham players today and provides something different.
  4. I don't think the Brentford model works anymore, post Brexit. You're going to struggle to find those gems in the French second division that can get a work permit.
  5. I genuinely think our midfield is fine - admittedly I'm projecting because I think Buckley is a good player and Garrett and Wharton will develop into excellent players (with Travis and Morton filling in) - but goals change games. We desperately need a #9 to put the ball in the back of the net and lead the line. We win that Boro game and this game with a competent #9, I won't be convinced otherwise.
  6. I think you overestimate how good a gig Rovers is. As a club we're a shambles (with the worst owners in football) - which Broughton at least appears to be addressing. He's come here because there's the potential to sneak into the PL, with all it's riches, and to then use that exposure to move on to better things.
  7. Brentford don't have an academy - they literally applied for a license to open one in June this year. Broughton was part of that 'famed' Norwich Academy set up, fyi.
  8. Or just someone that puts one of our four golden chances today in the back of the net.
  9. Much like Markanday now, he's earned the right to play in training so he's seeing more game time. Markanday will feature much more now - he was ghosting past Rotherham players today.
  10. He's not going to publicly lambast the players or his boss. I'm sure he's less than happy with how things are going transfer wise right now - 14 days and 3 games into the window and all we've done is let Hirst go and line up loans for Edun and Brown.
  11. Get somebody better so you can stop playing Gallagher. He's played him through the middle for quite a while now and he's spurned chance after chance. That mis-control today when clean through on goal was criminal.
  12. Agree to disagree - he's an ambitious manager, he'll be off.
  13. He'd be on the bench for mine - Liverpool can have him back if they've a problem with it.
  14. I'd honestly rather play Garrett than Morton. He might not be technically as good, but at least he's at least taken a game by the scruff of the neck - I've yet to see Morton put in that kind of performance. Morton has to be dropped for the next match.
  15. So did the BBC - but the quality of journalism has been in the gutter for years, sadly.
  16. Honestly if he's not backed in January he'll probably walk in the summer. He didn't walk away from league titles and Champions League football to play Gallagher and Vale upfront.
  17. By disjointed I think you mean non-existent. We had the bloke that went to Aberdeen, Mowbray and Venus as our recruitment team.
  18. He missed two golden chances today - sadly he's not the player he once was.
  19. Again this is why this is a huge window for Broughton. If he's not convinced the owners to allow him to sell Brereton-Diaz then we're in for a terrible summer.
  20. Sadly most of the league doesn't have a pot to piss in, which is why the parachute payment clubs come down and boss it. Think they've won the league every year since 2017. It's going to require a crafty loan or an absolute gem from a foreign league to solve our problem - over to you Broughton.
  21. LB requires pace. If that #9 is a quick 20 goal a season striker your problems are solved... but we obviously can't afford that.
  22. I was livid at the time - I could have accepted losing a £5m outlay for free, but Venus and Mowbray made him the next manager's problem too 'cos you know he'll be one of the highest earners.
  23. Created the four best chances of the match and didn't put any of them away. A goal scoring #9 that relegates Gallagher to the bench (and Vale to a loan) is our absolute priority.
  24. To be fair I wouldn't have given Mowbray another penny either after seeing him spunk £12m+ on the likes of Gallagher, Brereton, Pickering, Edun, Markanday (who'd barely played yet cost £500k) et al.
