Two days before the game, when the ticket has been sold, my boss tells me I can have the day off if I want. *bangs head against wall* Ah well. I can't see anything other than a Wigan win. Although I'll be at Ewood for the match itself. As for the Bradford game: Wigan were content to simply win it before Sykes tried to behead S. Tomkins. After that we unleashed the hounds, it was a little terrifying to watch 'cos Bradford had no answer for it.

Season ticket holder for the Warriors. Bought my ticket for the Challenge Cup, but (as is fitting with how my life is going right now) I can't get the day off work. So I'm paying £60 to erm.....watch the final at home. Fantastic.

I do wonder what games people watch at times. He was playing off the front man and he's a striker by trade. Asking him to be a competent defender at this level too is a little much. He was comfortably our best player today. IF we stay up an attack of Hoilett, Olsson, Rochina and Kalinic is an exciting one indeed. Of course, if we go down those 4 will be some of the first out the door.

SPOILER ALERT! I saw the ending as him coming to terms with killing his wife, but preferring to have the lobotomy than live with what he's done.

Finally got round to seeing Shutter Island (because it was on Sky Premier!). Excellent little movie.

'AC: Brotherhood' is about Ezio's life after the end of AC II. It should probably be called AC II: Brotherhood. As you'd expect it's more of the same with perhaps slightly more variation in the missions. The big thing for me is that they've tweaked the combat. It's very much in the vein of Arkham's Asylum now i.e rather than just sitting there waiting for counter attacks, you can put a flowing combo together after the first kill. It makes tackling groups of guards much easier and rewarding. They've also added a feature where you can recruit your own assassins - you level them up by sending them out on contracts. If they're in the city though (Rome - so far that's the only place you're allowed to go) they can be called in to assist you, which is a nice touch. I wasn't going to buy it as I thought it was just a multiplayer game (so the marketing campaign was a complete bust), but it turns out that it's a fully fleshed out game. If you bought AC then you'll notice the jump in quality from that to AC II. I'd say they've improved on AC II with AC:B by almost the same. It's definitely worth a purchase.

Exactly. Everybody dies - it's not a tragic death, like in your example, or the minute's silence for Terry Newton at the Grand Final (though I have little sympathy for the man, his demise was tragic) I think applause celebrating his life is more appropriate than a minute of silence, but each to their own.

Was it meant to be a minute's applause on Saturday? I couldn't near the PA - the players and the referee set up like they were aiming for a minute's silence, but everyone started clapping.

I'd have been surprised by that, pre-The Town. I like Eastwood's directing a lot, but I was really impressed with Affleck. I'll let you know what I think of Gone Baby Gone.

Anyone seen 'The Town'? It's excellent - I was shocked when the credits rolled and Ben Affleck's name came up as director. I'm going to have to go see 'Gone Baby Gone' now. He's clearly very talented.

Anyone played Demon's Souls? I was talked into buying it - and it's a nightmare of a game. As with most Japanese games, the story makes no sense, and it's brutally unforgiving.

Exactly, Dirk - it actually elicited some emotion from me. Generally I'm just relieved to have completed a game. Fantastic ending I though.

Has anyone finished Red Dead Redemption? What about that ending!?

Thought it was awful. There was so many things wrong with it - a lot of the plot was forced (and I don't want to get into that as it'd spoil the film for those that haven't seen it) and the battle scenes were tame. Not to mention there were several scenes ripped straight from Gladiator and Saving Private Ryan!
