He's not, but he's clearly decently quick and has very good close control. -

I think he technically has an assist today - but yeah it's your usual Hedges performance (sans going off with an injury). Puts in a shift, but very little end product. -

I see we've ditched the 2 man corner routine. -

I would too, but £3m is more than we spent this summer in total so it's highly unlikely. -

Hyam always seems to play better when he's the junior CB. Clearly Batth is taking charge today and McFadzean did at the end of last season. -

Liverpool wanted £3m in the summer -

I know Celtic were in for him in the summer on a permanent and Liverpool loaned him to us instead. He's 22 though so you'd think it's now or never for him to break into that Liverpool team. Suspect he'll be plying his trade away from Anfield... -

He's clearly mostly just a goal scorer - gets into some cracking positions. His first touch and passing are good enough for this level, but it's not really his game. -

I don't think that was his reputation before he arrived here - he had to shut up shop for 6 months to get us over the finish line. I gather he actually encourages his teams to play football, where appropriate. -

We say it every week - pace. Clearly the Brighton lad and Cantwell are nowhere near match fitness, which is why we've got Baker (a CM by trade) wide left. Dolan and Hedges always get hawked down on the break. -

We have to find some money in January and sign Beck, he's been a revelation at LB. -

Looks like 4-2-3-1 to me with Carter at RB and Baker at LM / AML. -

They sold our best player in January. -
Duru looks decent. Bloxham is cursed with being an attacking player with no pace or height. Loves a pointless step over - no idea how they've got him as the #9.

Beck's debut was better than any performance Pickering has put in for us. -

Personally I think we've improved the squad, and the starting XI, massively. Gueye and Ohashi are a big upgrade over Gallagher (and whoever you want to pick out of Ennis / Telalovic et al). Gueye's main contribution isn't going to be through goals (although he already has a couple) it's his hold up play and the chaos he causes in defence (he has four assists so far). I think you're downplaying Cantwell somewhat. If Eustace can help him get back to his best he's a far more talented player than Szmodics - if you look at Cantwell's stats in Scotland he had a pretty healthy return of goals and assists (especially considering the fans up there hate him), so it's not like he's a reclamation project. Beck is clearly better than Pickering, the question is whether Eustace is brave enough to play his best players or he'll look to keep the dressing room harmony and play his more senior one. Baker is better than Garrett. We have to hope Toth is better than Pears. The roll of the dice is Cozier-Duberry - could be brilliant, could be completely overawed by men's football, we'll just have to wait and see, but if something clicks it won't take much to contribute more than Dolan and Hedges. Just ask Weimann. -

Keeper had it easily covered - Batty stuck out a lazy leg and redirected it past the keeper. I'm sure they'll give it to McGoldrick, but Batty was clearly at fault. -

Batty has just scored an own goal for Stanley. Maybe he seriously improves on this loan, but he looks way off professional football from this display. -

Switched to the Notts County / Accrington game. Batty must be seriously quick because that's twice (both from GK kicks after a corner) that he's been the most advanced Stanley player. They're looking to counter with his speed. -

I'm bored so I'm watching the Bristol Rovers game - it's passing Garrett by. Gent is on the bench, but their LB hasn't pulled up any trees so I don't think we've let the next Ashley Cole leave. -

Doesn't he consider JRC able to play RB? I think he brought Duru on against Burnley because he has pace - which the Burnley winger had too and we know JRC doesn't (plus he'd had a mare midweek). -
#10, Dolan.
