  1. "Jurgen, sign this player that I'm not fit to shine the boots of. It'll be great for my career here at Liverpool".
  2. Luton, absolutely in the short term - they actually have strikers. I don't know enough about Millwall's squad.
  3. I think mainly because he didn't get backed in the January window and he's pissed off about it. I also think he picks up on the negative vibe from the fans. He's worked miracles this season with this squad, yet he's barely got any credit at all from supporters.
  4. There was no force at all - he felt contact and threw himself to the ground. Brereton-Diaz was just gauging the distance with an outstretched arm - he wouldn't have pushed over a toddler.
  5. Their FB came up with a massive smile on his face. He knew he'd cheated and conned the useless ref.
  6. He's just drawn a game because their goalkeeper handled the ball in our box. How is he possibly a lucky manager?
  7. So I gather their GK punched one in and another of their players studded Szmodics down his shin and wasn't sent off? These things even up eventually, right? Right?
  8. Mainly because we own his registration for the next four years.
  9. I think it just reiterates what JDT has said all season - we don't have the players yet.
  10. Hedges is significantly better on the ball than Gallagher and Brereton-Diaz.
  11. Utility attacking player from the bench to add energy for 20-30 minutes. Similar to Hedges, really.
  12. Didn't he just say that we needed to be more clinical in front of goal? Which was a pretty accurate reflection of the match (and sadly the season).
  13. Were they booed off? I mean don't get me wrong, the Ewood crowd would boo their nan, but I don't recall any booing? They jeered / cheered when Brereton-Diaz was hooked, which was telling.
  14. When it comes to attackers, the trick is clearly to loan in the next cab off the rank at the better PL academies - whoever that is.
  15. You'd definitely take most of Sunderland's forward line over ours. Mowbray didn't sign any of them - sadly he signed most of ours.
  16. I suspect they'll try to shift Travis on in the summer if they get a decent offer. He's not a good enough footballer to play CM in this system - they've already taken him out of the firing line by hiding him at RB / AMC when we have the ball. After the PNE debacle they simply don't trust him to take the ball with a man on his back.
  17. The problem is there isn't a big CF to aim for, or really someone that's going to bang one in from range - so they almost have to try and pass it into the back of the net. It's painful to watch.
  18. Speaking of annoying - I nearly rushed the pitch when their #20 (I think) sprinted back onto the pitch to close our player down after being down for 3+ minutes with a 'facial injury' right at the end. I was apoplectic. The refs in this league are just awful. I don't know how they look themselves in the mirror.
  19. I don't agree that it feels like a loss or that it was a dismal display. We were well in control. It all harks back to January when we didn't sign a striker - we're just not clinical in the final third. We, once again, created a hatful of chances (from memory): Dolan's 1-on-1 miss, Gallagher failing to control a pass from JRC (I think?) when he was clean through on goal, Thomas firing into the side netting twice rather than squaring it, JRC firing a ball across the goalline, Hedges firing a ball across the 6 yard box that Leonard just missed, Brereton-Diaz 'baby-legging' it rather than passing to the overlapping Pickering (or y'know, hitting the ball properly) etc etc If you go ahead in that game it's a romp - they came for a draw and got it. Broughton (and JDT if he stays) has got a big job in the summer shifting on some of this squad and replacing them with quality. The nucleus is there for a strong promotion push, but we need goal scorers.
  20. I think we're going to fall well short - I'm not sure if we pick up another point this season. It's a very tough run in and we just can't score goals. We were playing with 9 today with Gallagher and Brereton-Diaz on the pitch. You can't ask an 18/19 year old just making his debut to bag your goals... so where are they coming from?
  21. He's 51, but I agree with you. You'd still be playing with 10, mind.
  22. His agent had better double check the contract he's signed with Villerreal is binding because I'm sure they will be. He's been poor in 2023 and was awful tonight against Hull. We've no reason to play him again this season.
