  1. At this level, goal, singular. 1 goal in 17 Championship appearances. His goal glut came the season after, in League One. Then he went to Ligue 1, but he did get loaned to the Prem with Fulham last season and notched 3 goals in 809 minutes (so about 9 full games worth, not a bad rate at a higher level). Still young, doesn't seem a bad move on paper...my main concerns would be that back injury and, especially because of it, the probable price tag.
  2. It doesn't show any such thing. The season is still young. We are on a good run and have had a good start. We have done that before under him and still floundered midtable at close of play. The proof, if it comes, will be at the season's end. It's a marathon not a sprint, and Mowbray has shown poor stamina before.
  3. He sounds kinda like a crapper version of Rhodes to me. But not seen him.
  4. Think he could have become a player who was at least very handy to have at the club. But he is just constantly injured and has been for years, stopping him developing and stopping him being available. There isn't any point keeping him around once his contract is up. We need players who can stay fit most of the season.
  5. The team results stats for when he isn't playing suggest otherwise.
  6. In fairness, Rigger asked his question first.
  7. I would have thought so, given how bad the injury now appears to be. But on that front I'm slightly concerned by TM's comments of (direct quote): 'We'll await what Leeds want to do with him'. In the same sentence as saying 'it will be a considerable amount of time to recover'. Unless we don't have a termination option (which is stupid), or our loan contribution is only about 1k a week (unlikely), or the injury only means he is out til say February (unlikely based on what they've said), I can't see any reason we should be leaving it up to Leeds. The loan should be ended in January, or earlier if that's a possibility. It's not like he has had an Elliott style contribution that might be worth hanging on to see. Until the Sheffield United game he had been a liability if anything.
  8. He was one of the ones mentioned in the LT article the other day, along with Hedges, Ogbene and Scully: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19731448.wingers-linked-blackburn-rovers-wait-ian-poveda-injury-news/
  9. Shame. I prefer my defenders to defend first and foremost. That's why I'll take a Nyambe over a JRC every day of the week. But ideally you want someone who can do both, like a Le Saux.
  10. Looks like he's called Joseph Ferguson.
  11. Well that won't help him be in the starting eleven. For one thing that will be a 3 match ban for violent conduct? And then it will hardly have endeared him to the management. Seems to have a lot to learn. Who started ahead of him?
  12. Looking that way. Or another club who gets promoted. At one point he looked to have Prem potential but he has never matured his decision making or passing enough to get there.
  13. Sometimes better to just be an onlooker here than get involved in some of the inane back and forth anyway! 😄 Glad you're happy doing what you want to be doing, the start of a long and happy career hopefully. I would have thought you'd be fine to comment on anyone your employers aren't targeting and you're not recommending for them though?
  14. Makes sense for players of a certain calibre and experience yeh. Of course, it relies on their club getting promoted! But if they do well they could still attract interest from higher up, especially while young. How is your new gig going Joe?
  15. If he could easily compete in League Two, why do you say the best bet for him is a VNL move? Is it that you think he is good enough for it but that nobody at that level will seek him out yet?
  16. Won't happen, sounds like they want him in their first team from now on. Expect we will wait to see the extent of Poveda's injury before making a call on that. Did Scully look anywhere near as fast as Arma?
  17. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19731448.wingers-linked-blackburn-rovers-wait-ian-poveda-injury-news/ Both Ogbene and Scully mentioned here by the LT as being of interest, along with others. Scully is younger with a considerably better goal record, plays on the left or right of the three (usually the right it seems), also 3 assists this season. He seems far more interesting on paper, but Ogbene has been capped 5 times for Ireland whilst Scully doesn't seem to have been at senior level yet. Presumably there is a reason for that, but without having seen either lad I'm more interested in the far better goals record. Depends on cost of course.
  18. There's no need to be rude by calling it nonsense and saying I'm making excuses just because I have a different opinion. Nyambe should have started ALL games he has been fully fit for, as he has long been the best, sometimes only RB at the club and whilst he's not perfect and has the odd bad game, he has never been poor enough for long enough to warrant being dropped. So for me, even if it has only been about 20% of a season, any dropping of him is him being messed around. And I'm sorry you don't understand the nuance that not playing him when fully fit, but forcing him in when not fully fit is a poor way to treat what I regard as comfortably the best RB at the club. It's not a contradiction as you imply. I rate him more than you do, clearly. Just accept that and don't be an ass about it.
  19. Clearly you weren't paying attention when he was being dropped so that JRC, Buckley or even Gallagher on one bizarre occasion could play RB ahead of him. Because that's what I'm on about. No stats about how many appearances he has made (which doesn't show times he was subbed off either) are going to change that. JRC hasn't been fit at all this season, and that's the only reason Nyambe has played every game when fit.
  20. I've said for a while that I think Nyambe is disillusioned and his heart hasn't been in it for a while. I lay most of the blame for that at Mowbray's feet. Most of us know he has pissed him around a ridiculous amount. The lack of a proper backup hasn't helped either, with him being forced to play whilst not fully fit at times due to injuries to the non-RBs that sometimes get preference over him, further straining his hamstring. That said, it's still RN's career at the end of the day, and despite the manager he has to find the drive to make sure his next move is a good one and his career doesn't tailspin.
  21. Tbf, from his comments about how we aren't going to get Klopp or Guardiola or whoever he said, if TM goes, I think he is well aware he isn't at that level. He might think he is a Championship version, I dunno. But I definitely think he believes he is capable of copying their methods to a good extent and effect. He isn't. He also seems to think we are lucky to have him. We aren't.
  22. Unfortunately all of that combining usually means a poor result. Not just under Mowbray either, but historically. Or it certainly feels like it. The ones I expect nothing from on paper, we often surprise.
  23. Unfortunately, if we return the favour with like for like pricing for their fans, we will have to charge our fans the same, unless that rule has changed. Which also means today's pricing was for their fans too, not just ours. Reckon there is a bit more money in Bristol than in Blackburn too. Their £33 might be roughly our £20-25 in equivalent terms.
  24. I'm in little doubt that we would fail to do any better though. Probably take us a couple of seasons to find anyone at all, other than perhaps some loanees.
