  1. Oh, so it's essentially in reverse, too? I thought it meant 6th best percentile, but it's more like 6th worst percentile?
  2. Thanks, that makes more sense. I can't say I like it, as I prefer to know in absolutes, not relatives. 6th percentile out of 20 where, in that league? Really rather they just gave the actual percent.
  3. Yes. Before Venkys. Samba and Nzonzi spring to mind. I think neither could be bought under these new regs, which highlights how daft they are. Frustrating thing is how long we took getting European recruitment set up when the changes were looming. They acted like we had all the time in the world. It was barely worth doing if they were going to take this long. Kaminski will likely be our only fruit from it now.
  4. I mean, I didn't see Douglas, but it's not like he is the only man to ever dribble a ball. I know the 'difference', but in terms of compiling stats in particular, there might as well not be. Where do you draw the line? For me, any attempt to beat the man with the ball at your feet is a dribble attempt. And if you're failing 94% of those, please stop trying, forever, for the sake of your teammates, and start passing instead.
  5. Very good post. Illustrates how unlikely we are to be able to get good value players from Europe now. Anyone who has enough points is fairly likely to cost Premiership money now. More shite to suit the big boys.
  6. I consider running with the ball past someone to be a dribble, but I'm not sure the stat collectors define it that way. Getting tackled 94% of the time you dribble is terrible though however you slice it. If that's your track record, don't dribble, ever. Even worse than the 7% of aerial duels he wins supposedly...
  7. No idea but I bet it was a lot more than 6% of the ones he tried!!!
  8. Not sure they're presenting those stats right. 6% dribble success rate? That's absolutely abysmal, or they didn't mean to put percent and mean 6 successful dribbles per game.
  9. My supposition was in answer to a criticism which, if taken at face value, would mean he isn't good enough. I've long since wanted him to be played here.
  10. Is that not something to do with fitness though? Dunno if he has had any knocks, but I do know he hasn't been playing regularly during his time with us at anything higher than u23, so not going to be too well equipped for the gruelling fixture list everyone is having to contend with.
  11. I do wonder if it has something to do with poor testing, tracing and reporting, personally. Quite a few African countries unfortunately haven't taken it very seriously and don't have the same infrastructure and resources. It wouldn't surprise me if we just don't trust the numbers and/or precautions in some countries so they go on the red list. Or we may have concerns over the prevalent strains there. Especially if a country isnt really keeping tabs on which actual strains their positive tests are.
  12. Agree he needs to work on his end product but so does...*checks notes* every player in the team. I don't think he has a long way to go down to nail a regular spot at all, except for the judgement of the bloke in charge. For me he has been well worth a starting spot all season. Although I would rest him on 3-game weeks. People forget how good his numbers were for his minutes on the pitch until he was dropped. I'm positive he would be our second top scorer right now if he had started regularly. Getting dropped when he did killed his momentum, and I feel it made him too keen to show off his footwork in sub appearances as a way of forcing the manager's attention on him. I also feel that because of his scintillating ability with the ball, he gets more pressure for the end product than is actually fair. A year or two from now, if he continues to be given starts like lately, I expect everybody to be saying he is the best player at the club and asking how long we can keep him and how much money we can get.
  13. There is also that Namibia has a 2.7 million population, whilst Serbia has 6.9 million. So if you make it new cases per population it adjusts the difference between them a bit (still worse in Serbia though if your figures were right).
  14. 9 results from 4 games? Well that really is impressive. If dropping Arma enables that, I'm all for it.
  15. Very disappointing series of headlines in the LT today. I haven't read them yet, I don't want to vomit at work, but you would think we had given Norwich a hiding instead of being very lucky that they didn't notch one more of the 6-7 good chances they carved out to our 1. I saw absolutely nothing yesterday that I haven't seen all season. Nothing. We aren't good enough under this manager, we just flatter to deceive.
  16. Oh for sure, I knew White had played a bunch of games for them so it meant the lad probably isn't watching the matches etc. But it also suggests he didn't make much impact, or even a casual fan would have heard the name. He does talk about their results every week so he is paying a bit of attention.
  17. 1) For me, how we played today is pretty much how we have played recently. Apart from probably a bit more commitment today. The only other differences today were the standard of opposition, and the result. The latter was only better because Norwich didn't take one of the several chances they got to bury us. 2) Agreed 100%. His supporters are heralding it as proof of his capability though. 3) Holtby played the other day too, but he looked sloppy and unfit. Today he looked fitter and closer to his best. Has been inconsistent in his time at Rovers though, frustrating as he does have class on his day. 4)JRC kept flitting between doing excellent things and doing shite ones, especially first half. Overall he did well. What stands out though is that, whilst I prefer Nyambe overall, JRC is a better crosser. JRC's fitness needs to be more carefully managed than it is being, or we might never find out his potential. It's not like the person who can fill in for him isn't up to the task...
  18. I'm surprised to see how well some people are taking this game. Yes the point is a very good one, and that matters more than anything else. But the performance, despite some good effort, was pretty much like all the others. If Norwich had had a bit more luck with their chances they would have buried us out of sight. We weren't poor, other than up top, but I certainly don't feel we deserved this point.
  19. There is a Bolton fan at work. He didn't even know who I was talking about when I mentioned Tom White.
  20. Think playing so much after playing so little has worn him out a bit.
  21. Norwich haven't looked all that, but I make that about 5 times they were pretty close to scoring. Compared to our 1.
  22. Most goals happen in the middle. So obviously it makes sense to not have a striker at all and just play a 'false nine' so that area is rarely occupied. Football 101 right? Right?
  23. He could take note. He won't be doing that.
  24. Unless we get smashed today I expect he will get the Wycombe game at least 😞
