I'll be honest I hadn't really heard of him. I do remember someone who played well against Arsenal and thought at the time he looked good, but by the time he rocked up here I had completely forgotten about him, then reading about him jogged my memory so I was somewhat hopeful. Whilst he hasn't really shown anything in his cameos to suggest there is a player there, the finger has to be pointed at Mowbray as well as I think he has completely destroyed any confidence the lad had.

Thing is those two lads have grown with the club and Wilder haven't they? Lenihan has been playing for Mowbray in that time, put him in Sheffield Utd's system now and he would look completely lost and wouldn't look good enough. -

Who's going to buy Lenihan? -
Blame the Dack injury & FFP, and move onto next season like nothing happened.

I'm not convinced this guy (Crooke) really has any idea to be honest. -

No way is Rhodes quick enough to play on the right wing. -
Well lets hope them clubs start firing them 8 figure bids in for John Buckley soon then eh.

You have missed out the entire 09-10 season in that post! We lost all four away games, but the results at Ewood that season were as follows... Liverpool home - 0-0 Chelsea home - 1-1 Man Utd home - 0-0 Arsenal home - 2-1 Give the guy some credit, he had us really difficult to beat at Ewood.

So your telling me, out of everyone " venkys" could have employed for that role, it just happened to be the bloke our current manager worked with at his last club? Don't be so bloody naive, of course Mowbray employed him, just like he promoted his mate Venus to whatever nonesense title he's been given now. He's not going to come out and admit it because it goes against his honest, man of integrity, working class background persona he's got going on.

Of course Waggott is happy with Mowbray, Mowbray employed him!

I dunno about Downing not having the legs, looks the fittest person at the club by far to me. -
When I saw the line up yesterday a very small part of me wondered whether we were going to go 442, Gally & Arma up top, Downing and Holtby out wide with Nyambe and Bell trying to bomb past them. Deep down though I just knew it would be Gallagher plodding up and down that wing not having a clue what to do.

5 wins in 6 followed by 0 wins in 6. All so predictable and classic Mowbray. I don't dislike Mowbray, I don't even think he's that bad a manager overall. I just don't think he's a manager to take on a long term project, I think that sort of thing doesn't really exist at this level anymore, in my opinion we need some new enthusiasm, new ideas and someone who can get this lot playing as a team. Three years is a lifetime at a club like ours these days, things have gotten stale. He went 10 games without a win at Coventry and walked stating it was embarrassing to go on that run, I don't think he'd do the same here though.

Think this could be a terrible afternoon. Our lads wont have a clue what is being asked of them, we'll be 2-0 down at half time and end up losing 3-1. 17k attendance
-
Bowyer and Mowbray as managers would certainly put pay to that as a spectacle! Hughes and Souness would be the managers for me. Anyway home team wins, 6k would turn up, and Tugay.

He scored 5 headed goals in his Rovers career... 06-07 vs Man City away 06-07 vs Sheffield Utd home 07-08 vs VK Vectra Home 07-08 vs Fulham home 11-12 vs Aston Villa away All pretty good headers to be fair. I don't recall the one you mentioned though, unless your thinking of the one at Newcastle in 06 where he punched it in! -

Rovers are now saying its pay on the day again, with no database purchase history. Maybe the nobbers sales aren't going as well as they thought?
-
Weren't there some absolute horror shows at the start of our league one campaign when we tried to play three at the back?
-
Yes I agree with this. I've always thought the long term plan was to have Gallagher and Brereton up front from the 2020-2021 season, with Dack going this summer.

Player of the year (so far)

I'd go with this. -
The home crowd at Forest were good, but they scored because Walton had a couple of shockers. I personally think our crowd and players might respond more when there is a full Darwen End rather than a thousand shoved upstairs out of the way, theres definitely no atmosphere that way. Leeds at home springs to mind last season,we were superb and thrived on it being a 20k gate. I don't expect us to be up for Saturday though unfortunately, can see a 1-0 defeat

Coyle signed Emnes, but yeah it's a fair point, not too much imagination in our targets. I think a lot of managers probably look towards players they have managed before, but Tony seems to take it up a notch! -

Please be true. I honestly thought Corry would be at Rovers until the end of time. He sums up the venkys era perfectly for me. 7 years of nothing, slow, sluggish, not an ounce of urgency in him, mysterious injurys before being fit as a fiddle for international duty, a slight bit of promise before reverting to type again not long after etc, etc. He should have been shown the door a long time ago. -
I know it was only league one, but it was probably Chapman for me. It had felt like an age since the last time I saw someone come on and sprint past people at pace and have a half decent final ball too. Unfortunately I can't see that Chapman producing the goods here, injuries and Mowbray have put pay to that.
