  1. Sam Hart! Currently behind Bell, Williams, Bennett, JRC & Downing for a game at left back, yet he's been extended another month, why? Can see Graham, Downing & Samuel all being offered deals for next season.
  2. Weren't we linked with Northampton's keeper fairy recently too?
  3. That late run in 13-14 was incredibly frustrating, draws with the likes of Yeovil, and then Sheff Wed after being 3-1 up. 14-15 we were out of the running by March I think, masked by a good FA Cup run. Two of the top four goal scorers in the league and we finished 11 points off the play offs. I hope we can force our way in there this time, although the last time we got close under Mowbray after Bristol City away we went 5 games without a win, it wouldn't suprise me at all if we went that way instead.
  4. That wasn't the question. Ok then, a last minute loan deal for next season's GK with Hilton on the bench. I think people expecting two Championship standard GK's coming in on permanent contracts are going to be disappointed.
  5. We've done this a few times under Mowbray too though haven't we? Everytime we seem to get a sniff of the play offs we go 5 or 6 games without a win. I'm hoping behind closed doors might take that element away.
  6. Would you rather have Leutwiler on the bench than Fisher?
  7. I think the GK position next season will be solved by another last minute loan, with Fisher on the bench as back up.
  8. Poor record here, but behind closed doors might take that kind of thing away. 2-1 Rovers
  9. Joe Hart coming here is absolute fantasy land stuff, up there with Ayala. For everyone questioning him though, even now he's miles better than anyone else we had in that position in the last 10 years.
  10. Wow! You make it sound like we sold the club to a bunch of 5 year olds. These are (supposedly) intelligent business people, they should have done there research before buying the club. They came into it trying to make a fast buck in my opinion, and it's backfire horribly. Venkys are to blame for everything that has happened to the club in the last decade, and are the main reason why the club will never achieve anything to that level ever again.
  11. Clubs might want to keep the fans happy, but Sky and TV pay the wages. Whatever the TV companies want, will happen. The broadcasters will love this back to back football, it was heading this way anyway with a few more live games added to the schedule every time the TV deal was renewed, this "project restart" will accelerate the process though and before long, Saturday at 3pm for the top flight will be a distant memory.
  12. Yeah, but Sky and TV dictate when a game is played. Plus to the top clubs, who all this is geared towards, it won't make any difference on there attendances whether the game is Saturday 3pm, Sunday at 7pm or Tuesday at 6pm. When the next TV deal comes around in 2022, I'd be amazed if there are any top flight games left at 3pm on a Saturday.
  13. I think this will be very much the norm when the next TV deal comes out.
  14. When we're attacking the Darwen End it's easy to forget it's behind closed doors.
  15. It's just a lazy assumption from the club that everyone is internet savvy and wants to stream.
  16. Chapman wouldn't get on he pitch if we could use 8 subs.
  17. Sounds a horrible idea doesn't it? I do think we are going down that route with the top flight though and have for a while, and the revised fixture list due to the pandemic might accelerate it. By the time the next TV deal comes around, I could easily see a schedule like this with a Saturday 3pm blackout applied... Friday 8pm Saturday 12:30pm, 5:30pm, 8pm Sunday 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm Monday 8pm Like you say, it makes the thought of a promotion back there less enviable indeed, and would kill away followings for smaller top flight clubs. I think it just means that no top flight games would happen in that timeslot, so lower league attendances wouldn't be compromised.
  18. He joined Middlesbrough as TM left, but TM was the one who organised the deal apparently.
  19. Bell is bang average, we should be looking to get a real left back in this summer, but signing Bell up for another year tells me we probably won't bother and go with him or Williams there for next season. Plus, it's another roadblock in front of Lewis Thompson who we should be really looking to get involved with the first team picture this season.
  20. Gallagher will be on the right wing, the rest picks itself I think.
  21. Interview with Mowbray about his time at Middlesbrough. https://t.co/mA16P86ecX The following bit of the interview made me laugh though I have to say. “We had been playing around trying to make Rhys Williams a centre half from a midfielder, but while Rhys could look amazing bringing that ball out from the back, natural dominance was what the team needed really - someone who had a head like a magnet and could head it out. Glad he learned his lessons from doing things like that before he came here...
  22. There's no way sky want a PL without West Ham in it.
  23. If it was a choice between picking up Maddison on a free and giving him a go on the right wing, or go into another season of Gallagher playing there, which would you choose?
  24. Pretty obvious that the first link other than the Sunderland goalie would be for a position we don't need.
