  1. Thing is you could put Nuttall in the side, but what would you expect him to do? If that midfield 4 that played on Saturday are behind him he probably wouldn't get a touch of the ball, then everyone advocating him would be saying he's clearly not ready should have left him with the U23's etc. I could understand it if we had created 30 chances at Oldham and missed them all, then yes by all means bring him in to finish the moves off, but on Saturday we missed an open goal, and had one long range effort that came off the bar. Don't think anything else was created at all?!
  2. I think you are "doing a Mowbray" and overcomplicating things. The reward for season ticket holders is that they see every game for around £13 a ticket, for someone who doesn't get a season ticket and is a 1875 member they are looking at around £20 a ticket for the same seat. Plus people who are only season ticket holders get away game priority over people who are only 1875 members. There are a lot of issues at the club clearly, but I think you are trying to create another one with that post that doesn't really matter in the slightest.
  3. Exactly, you should go into every game with your strongest team, no matter what competition it is. We are not in a position to be "picking and choosing" which games we can win or not. I remember in that promotion winning season we also played 5 games in the league cup and 6 games in the FA cup too. With only the Portsmouth league cup second leg (already 4-0 up) resembling anything like a " second choice eleven".
  4. Are Sky showing it? Saw that 3 championship games are being shown over the opening weekend but nothing about our game.
  5. That's the way I feel about it, Connor has no chance, but just what if he somehow catches him with one? That's Mayweathers reputation blown to shreds, I'm 99% sure Mayweather is winning but that other 1% will probably have me watching.
  6. So Connor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather has been confirmed in a boxing match for August 26th in Las Vegas. This is just completely mental.
  7. Ha, I don't think we will have enough players not to play a full strength team!
  8. Not really, Brum were never getting anything from today. Next weeks game concerns me as hudds are falling apart a bit. Brum are just as bad as us though it really depends who can get that win.
  9. I guarantee that if you asked every Bolton fan who was better they would say Okocha, whilst every Rovers fan would say Tugay. Both brilliant footballers who will forever be cult hero's for our respective clubs.
  10. That's then one Neil, had other certain players done that it would probably be still aired on SSN to this day..!
  11. My favourite piece of Tugay play was when he made Steve Gerrard look an absolute mug on Boxing day 2006. He skinned him with a beautiful step over right in the middle of the pitch before slipping a perfect pass through the scousers defence for MGP to run onto and slide across for Benni to score the winner.
  12. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't this mean that all there dealings from the past 6 years would be available to see? I can't see them allowing it, we'll just be downgraded even more in the next couple of years and still be having the same tedious "discussions" about why they are still here. It's just a depressing mess.
  13. Think people are fooling themselves with all this admin talk, venkys will never allow it.
  14. To be fair i don't think that he has complained that the player got annoyed with him, it was other drama queens on here like mercerman that got up in arms about it.
  15. Looking forward to seeing some of the older members posts in here, as mine are all fairly predictable. So many games i want/could include in this, but i'll go for the ones that meant the most to me. 5- 05/01/1991 Rovers 1 Liverpool 1 (FA Cup 3rd round) This is where it all started for me, as this was my first ever game at Ewood, had a small interest in football, mainly liked Liverpool because a lot of my mates at school seemed to support them, my mum who has been a Rovers fan all her life decided this was the ideal time to take me to my first game, i was the envy of everyone at school as i was going to see Liverpool live. Sat in the old nuttal street stand, remember the atmosphere was electric, and within about 10 minutes of the game i was a fully converted Rover and was begging my mum to take me to the next home game, was gutted after Super Atko's last minute OG! 4 - 17/12/2000 Burnley 0 Rovers 2 Never seen so much hype going into a game, my first taste of the old east lancs derby too, great day as we were actually behind them in the table prior to this game, gave them a football lesson, and never looked back on our way to promotion. 3 - 08/05/1995 Rovers 1 Newcastle 0 Victory at Ewood day! Best atmosphere Ewood has seen since being all seater? If you didn't know any better watching the game you would have thought it was Newcastle who were top of the league and gunning for the title, very one sided and very tense, Tim Flowers had the game of his life, he has bottle you know. After this it really hit home and was possible that we could be champions of England. 2 - 24/02/2002 Rovers 2 Tottenham Hotspurs 1 (Worthington Cup Final) Winning a domestic knock out cup is something i wasnt sure i'd ever see Rovers do to be honest, but it happened here, remember getting into Cardiff very early, must have been around 9-10am, thousands of Spurs fans were already there being there usual arrogant selves, remember it throwing it down all day, (much like at Wigan the other day, although maybe not quite that wet!) Friedal & Hughes had blinders, and the excellent Jansen/Cole partnership sent us into Europe following a up to that period, disapointing return to the Premier League. This spurred us on for the remainder of the season to easily survive relagation, and finish in 10th place. 1 - 14/05/1995 Liverpool 2 Rovers 1 For anyone who was there this day, how can it not be number 1? We didnt go to enough away games to get a ticket in the Rovers end for this, think you needed about 9 or 10 away stubs if i remember rightly? (ahh stubs, remember them days?!) so we managed to obtain two tickets in the Liverpool end (anfield road end right next to the rovers fans) through two dear freinds of my mothers, they were there season ticket seats and they kindly gave them to us for the day after they heard we missed out on tickets, a gesture that will never be forgotton thats for sure! Anyway we were both there kitted out in blue and white, there was plenty of banter directed towards us, all good fun though as everyone in that stand genuinly seemed to want Rovers to win. That brief second of despair when Redknapp scored to the sheer joy just afterwards is just something i will never forget. Don't think i'll ever see this happen again, but a superb memory to look back on
  16. Can't say i'll lose any sleep over Zurab losing. He's never quite been good enough for us.
  17. I'd wager Matt Jansen got over 50 goals for us, although most of them were in the second tier.
  18. That's the exact team that started, i think that Le Saux played LW and Kenna played LB though, could be wrong.
  19. Or maybe Ince would go with Roberts with Carlos playing just off him?
  20. Why? Not a chance Hughes would have gone anywhere as a number 2, even Utd.
  21. Interesting list there, cant really argue with any of them.
  22. Fully agree with that, when Savage was injured for the second half of last season and Moko stepped in, he started to play well after half a dozen starts or so because he was playing regular.
  23. Would you be saying the same thing had it been the other way round?
