  1. Yeah I think so. I think that was around the time the current Riverside was being built?
  2. Think this is actually posted in the nostalgia thread too. Rovers fans in both ends, away fans in the Darwen End enclosure, and the TV cameras on the Riverside, which was extremely rare back then.
  3. Yeah Rovers fans were in both ends for that one, and I think a few more around that time.
  4. Scored a hat trick for Wigan against us in 2007, apart from that, no I don't think so.
  5. Leicester at home? Around 87/88ish? Hendry scored a last minute equaliser to make it 3-3.
  6. I was about to come in and post that one. My Grandad always said, even after 95, that this was his favourite ever game. Such a shame there doesn't seem to be any footage out there of it.
  7. Plus Reid was long gone by the time that twat became manager.
  8. Venkys won't go local for a sponsor.
  9. I think most others are already back at it. Stoke have a friendly in Ireland on Saturday.
  10. Still more than our £12m strike force would score against them.
  11. Fixtures for next season to be released next Friday, 21st August.
  12. Friday 21st August, 9am.
  13. I love a Rovers "bid" for a player these days. Guarantee it will be a ridiculous low ball offer followed by the old shrug of the shoulders and "well, we tried" statement.
  14. I think I have said this before, but it's not impossible that our defence for the first game of next season could be - Nyambe, Lenihan, Mulgrew, Williams. The exact same back 4 that started his first game in charge over three years ago. The defence will never be sorted under Mowbray, I accepted it a while ago.
  15. Yeah we had him by then, he signed on 31st July but in classic Mowbray fashion "wasn't ready to play" the opening game. Mulgrew started the game as captain, had an absolute stinker and 5 days after that he was bombed out to Wigan on deadline day, to make room for us to sign Cunningham. Tosin made his debut in the second game of the season at Fulham after Mulgrew departed. Mulgrew was definitely first choice when the season started, making even more of a mockery of Mowbrays "defenders are coming" quotes.
  16. I'm not sure about that, Mulgrew started the first game of the season as captain, so I firmly believe that Mowbray intended to use him as first choice with Lenihan until they realised somebody needed to make way for the Cunningham signing.
  17. I'd be surprised if it was any other way at the moment to be honest.
  18. He's definitely not a winger.
  19. This time 12 months ago I was quite excited by him, he started our last 6 games of the previous season, and got a couple of goals and assists. The shirt was his for the start of 19/20, so of course Mowbray starts the season with him back on the bench, think he only had two starts by the end of October. As said above the excitement around him as definitely fizzled out now, and he'll never get any consistency going under Mowbray unfortunately.
  20. Id take an effective, organised Dyche style of grinding out 1-0 win over whatever way Mowbray is trying to play any day.
  21. Crazy when there is an extra £2million on offer for every place you finish higher in the Premier League.
  22. There isn't prize money in the championship for league placing, so finishing 7th or 20th doesn't make any difference apart from how pretty it looks on a league table.
  23. If we had adopted this approach throughout our history then we wouldn't have seen any of the world class players that have graced Ewood over the years, it's more proof that venkys have beaten down our fanbase so much. Don't these seasons count anymore then?!
  24. I think that's the lazy assumption because we spent 26 years out of the top flight between 66 & 92.
  25. Cunningham looked good in his 10 games or so don't get me wrong. After an injury like that though, not sure I would be rushing out to get him signed up again at the moment.
