  1. Cant think why i would be included in this....
  2. Im another who wanted to vote Ripley but have decided to vote for Douglas. Just because i never saw him play doesnt mean i can ignore his history with us. Sounds an excellent player wish i had the chance to see him play.
  3. Remember visiting a couple of pubs that were very close to the ground last season. No idea what they were called though !
  4. At Southampton away this season a few of us were stood up at the back of the stand and were promptly asked to sit down, a couple didnt and after a few warnings were threatened with being ejected. However right next to us there must of been a good few hundred southampton fans stood up throughout the whole game, from what we could gather they never seemed to get asked to sit down at all. I have no problems with sitting down at all but surely it should be the same for both sets of fans. When asking the stewards why they were allowed to stand for the whole game and why we wernt they just simply said "there steweded by a different company to us so theres nothing we can do about it" Sounds similar to saturday at Ewood only the other way around! Makes you wonder.
  5. Yep, the attendance for that game was 16,922 and you're probably about right with your estimate for how many Rovers fans were in the west stand that night. I think we took around 6,500 to 7,000 Rovers fans. Considering there was only 17,000 crowd we made up almost half the supporters in that night. Continuing this away following thread, how many did we take to Manure in the league cup semi and Sheff wed semi? Probably about 4000 maybe 5000 to each. I would have thought that for the United game we had about 6k and abut the same at sheff wed - wasn't the ticket and travel inclusive for £10 for that match? Think our allocation was 7000 for the Utd match. 3000 of which were in the normal away end, we didnt sell any of these. We just about filled the upper tier of the stand behind the goal. For the sheffield wednesday game we filled the upper tier which is about 3700 according to the football fans guide ive got. There was a few scattered about in the bottom tier but there couldnt have been another few thousand in there. I think the travel was free yes.

  7. I have 3 mates who are Liverpool season ticket holders and they all went to the game today. They got charged £40, The same as us.
  8. I wish everyone would calm down. Press confrences always end up running late.
  9. Not really, Its ticking at the same speed as it does every other afternoon.
  10. We need a manager with experiance, time to look to the future. Not the past.
  11. Same sentiments to most people on here really, Shocked and slightly disapointed. Thanks Souness, For the most part you did an excellent job for us. Some interesting candidates for the job, My prefered choice would be either Gordon Strachan or Mark Hughes. Should be an interesting week or so though.
  12. I dont think we will replace him. I think more will be expected from Matt Jansen this season as a result of this. Come on Matty this is YOUR season!! By the way, Thanks for the memories Andy, I for one am dissapointed to see you leave but as many other board members have said... Time to move on
  13. Have you nothing better to do with your time?
  14. So that was our barren run? one 0-0 draw against leicester?
  15. I remember beating Sheff Wed 7-2 in 97 was it? We then scored 2 at palace the week after and 3 at home against leeds the week after that.. Then last season we followed up beating west ham 7-1 with 3 goals at highbury, so the fact that teams hit barren runs after scoring 7 is not really true. Lets not be too over confident and wait for next Thursday to come and we'll see whos the better team
  16. What?? How does Cole get a place over Egil on current form then? I'd go with Freidal Tiny Berg Short Neill Dunn Flitcroft Tugay Thompson Yorke Egil Subs Jansen, Johansson, Cole (if fit) if not grabbi, Duff (if fit) if not hignett, Kelly
  17. I think you could well be right there Tris, one game every so often like this causes a really big interest and for a game like this it should be introduced, but for any other game i cant see the point as theres never a big enough demand
  18. Nice one mate, glad to see the club has pulled its finger out
  19. Why couldnt they put it in the programme or on Rovervision though? No one could have complained if those that went to sofia got first choice on tickets surely?!
