  1. This will be one of those where we will get all giddy nearer the time thinking we can beat them, then we'll find ourselves 3-0 down in 20 minutes. Is this right? If so that might tempt me to go, I've been a few times in that top tier and after nearly dying when Mulgrew scored the season before last I thought to myself that's the last time I'm going up there!
  2. It's as clear as day that Bennett starts for Conway when he's back, think thats the four Mowbray would go with when everyones fit.
  3. Yeah i was thinking that, no way is this a reciprocal agreement, Norwich wont be charging us £20 thats for sure. As said earlier on the thread this is just a offer to entice folk to buy early or to try and get the jack walker upper a bit fuller.
  4. Christmas offer for the Norwich game on 22nd December.... https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2018/november/ticket-news-norwich-city-h/
  5. Also, we were 3-0 up against Stoke when Graham went off, and that nearly ended up a disaster.
  6. I think it's a terrible knee jerk reaction to just suggest that the "team spirit" has gone over these last two weeks, it has been two terrible performances but this was always going to happen at a higher level. I can point at Williams, Bell, Smallwood, Evans, Bennett, and potentially the likes of Armstrong (out wide) and Rodwell (at CH) as not being good enough for this level, you might be able to get away with one or two of them and have a decent mid table season (like we are having at present) but put them all in the same side week after week and eventually you will slide down the table. I can't understand why since Bolton away, we haven't started another game with Rodwell & Reed in the middle, I think that's potentially a really good partnership at this level that has a bit of everything. Evans and Smallwood looked like they were running through sand on Wednesday night, I thought at times last season that partnership looked a bit tired, and whilst both have had some ok games this season I personally wouldn't be starting with either. I'd like to see Bennett, Reed, Rodwell & Rothwell across the midfield, keep Dack in his favourite "10" position off Brereton for a bit, Graham could be ideal to bring on around 60/70 mins to help kill a game off.
  7. Probably the first two matches of last season, 2-1 way at Southend & 3-1 at home to Doncaster.
  8. Actually this is wrong, I have just been pointed to this when I asked the same thing on Twitter.. So looks like the Boxing Day, New Years Day, and Easter Monday fixtures won't be available on the red button.
  9. Just a note, but I have noticed that Sky are showing live games at 3pm on both Boxing Day and New Years Day, Now, as these days do not fall on a Saturday does this give them another loophole and mean that Sky can show all the other 3pm games on those days on the red button?
  10. When was the last time we used a "local promotion" out of interest? Obviously we have had a few games in recent years where we have charged adults a tenner a piece, but away fans were also included in that deal (thinking of Villa & Oxford over the past couple of seasons) I genuinely can't remember the last time we did one where we charged away fans more than home.
  11. Two points dropped today for sure, but 8 points from 5 games since the last international break is about what i expected, probably would have said won today, drawn against Leeds, drawn at Swansea and lose at WBA, still they all add up the same. It's what's great about this league in a way, you think you have it cracked and a result like todays crops up, i expected to win but i'm really not shocked that we havent, i'm suprised as many on here are to be honest. Hopefully this two week break will do Graham & Dack the world of good as something just isnt happening for them at the minute, as after this break there isnt much of a respite until March.
  12. Three home games in December before christmas, all Saturday 3pm kick offs. and the first one is catagory A. Why couldnt we do some sort of Christmas bundle, all three games for £30 or something, anywhere in the ground? Get some bigger crowds in pre Christmas while we are on a good run, crazy that we have thousands and thousands of empty seats when a bit of forward thinking could have seen a good portion of them sold. Might have even whetted the appetite of some to get a half season ticket.
  13. I wouldn't expect many in the new year either as they won't want to "devalue" the half season ticket. I'm not even surprised any more.
  14. Those 6 clubs will never, ever leave the premier league. That "European super league" will just run parallel with the Premier League. People keep saying that it will eventually implode, it never will, at least not in our lifetimes anyway.
  15. Wigan 2005 & Preston 2015 are the only times we have taken over 5000 for a league game since the 90's ended. Like Mattyblue i'm not totally convinced we'll sell out completely but think we'll go pretty close.
  16. If Brereton has been bought in to take over the "target man" role over the next couple of seasons then he should be spending every single second he can in training with Danny Graham, Mowbray certainly isn't helping his cause by playing him on the wing, unless of course that's where Mowbray does see him long term. Unfortunately whether it is right or wrong, he is always going to be judged on his fee as we haven't spent that much on one player for a while, but in reality he is a 19 year old kid learning the game, he probably won't hit his prime for another 5/6 years. The buck has to stop with Mowbray or whoever made the decision to splash the cash on him, giving the lad grief and slating him for every half hour cameo doesn't do him any good.
  17. I always find this odd. Would a back four with 3 right footers be unbalanced? How about our midfield 5 (including Dack) who are all right footed? For the record, I don't think Rodwell is really a centre half, he played well against Bolton and when he come on against Leeds both in midfield, thought he was sloppy against Forest when playing CH, and think he got caught out last night too. I'd start him in midfield on Saturday.
  18. Samba was one that you would throw up front with 10 minutes to go. I remember a game against Spurs at Ewood where Sam threw him up top in the last 10, he caused absolute chaos and we came from behind to win 2-1. He then tried it a few weeks later at Anfield, only this time from the start. He didn't get a kick and we lost 4-0.
  19. I'd play the same starting 11 that we had at Bolton at WBA on Sat.
  20. It's complete overkill, but it will only keep rising. If the 3-5pm blackout stays in tact I can see Sky/BT showing every premier league game around them times before long. They could do something like - Friday 745pm Saturday 11am, Saturday 1pm, Saturday 530pm, Saturday 745pm Sunday - Noon, 215pm, 430pm, 7pm Monday - 8pm People keep saying the bubble will burst one day, but I don't think it ever will.
  21. Last Friday wasn't it?
  22. You have one on November 10th away at West Brom.
  23. I can't believe people are still discussing us to start with three at the back. It has worked a couple of times as an option when chasing the game, thinking of Oldham at home and Portsmouth away last season. Every time we have started with it though it looks like the players have never even met before let alone played that system. We should be starting with the same system that has worked so well for nearly 18 months now.
  24. Loved him as a kid, was one of my first favourite players. He would probably be in mine too if Duff never came through.
  25. It's a strange one for me personally. I have been going to Ewood since the late 80's as a very young kid, before becoming an absolute fanatic from probably the Liverpool FA Cup game in 1991 onwards. Got first season ticket in 1992 when we were promoted and held one every year until Coyle was appointed, took a year off as I felt somebody had spat in my face with that appointment, and still ended up buying match tickets for most of the 3pm kick offs anyway, then got my season ticket back last season and this season. If this had happened 10/15 years ago I wouldn't have bat an eyelid at it and would have carried on going to the games regardless of TV, Red buttons, kick off times etc., I was even one of the very few who had the "away game season ticket" between 2003 & 2008, I know we were in the premier league back then but I have to stress that it is nothing to do with that at all. Fast forward to 2018 though, I'm a season ticket holder who lives an hour away on a good day, have a fairly demanding job with some long hours in the week, a wife, a mortgage and a 8 year old son. By the time the Rotherham game rolls around on November 11th, that will be only the 4th game out of the opening 9 that me and my lad will have managed to attend at Ewood despite being season ticket holders. All the others bar the QPR game in a few weeks we will have been able to watch live on TV or via the red button, which as much as there is no substitute for being at a live game, has come in handy rather than messing about on the M6 at rush hour or dealing with northern rail strikes for lunchtime/tea time kick offs, I haven't been able to get in or out of my town on the train on any Saturday since the beginning of August, having to either get lifts or public transport buses to either Macclesfield or Crewe. It does make me have a think about next season, with all the best will in the world I commit to a season ticket but everyday life gets in the way, my lads football club dropped a tournament on us this Saturday at fairly late notice, he desperately wants to play in it, I was initially frustrated at missing Rovers but then remembered we would probably be home just as the game is kicking off on the red button so at least we can watch it. At the moment I'm leaning to probably renewing our season tickets for ease and because both me and the boy love being there and I really want him to stay interested in Rovers, but it is really concerning to what is "next" with TV coverage going forward.
