  1. It’ll be £4m next week and then £3m the week after. By the end of the window it will be ‘trust the process, we’ve bought in some amazing free transfers without having to spend any money’. I’m starting to think the C in BRFCS stands for Chaddy as it seems to be his own personal site recently.
  2. Surely if we’re spending £7m this summer we don’t need to be looking at free agents.
  3. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting for one moment that it makes any sense at all for Fleck to still be in the building, but the fact that his is is a bit of a worry. I would not be at all shocked to see him get a contract and then break down within a week or so. It wouldn’t shock me at all for Waggot to give him a contract with nothing in it at all to protect us if (when) he does get injured again.
  4. The only way a deal for Waggots old mate Fleck makes any sense at all is if it’s heavily appearance and performance based. We do not want to be wasting a wage on him if he’s going to break down after 2 games. A fit fleck would be our best midfielder but he’s not been fit for 3 seasons so there’s definitely doubts there. If he’s confident in his fitness then he’ll be willing to take a performance based contract.
  5. One game, I’d argue Ruddy was one of the worst championship keepers to come to Ewood last season yet we are looking at him.
  6. I know we probably won’t be going for a keeper but if we were we could do worse than Arthur Okonkwo. Been released by Arsenal but did really well on loan at Wrexham on loan last season. He’s only 22 so would have potential sell on value as well.
  7. As others have pointed out we could get over £3m. The Elliot deal was quite a while ago so the £4.3m is probably quite a bit lower than that based on how the transfer market has gone. it’s pretty similar tbf.
  8. Although it’s a bit harsh on using Fulham for this example after what happened with Elliot and Liverpool.
  9. What are we looking at frees when we’re spending £7m on transfers according to you.
  10. I’m sure it was mentioned on here before that sell on fees include loan fees as well. Someone linked to a document which spoke about it last year when this was all discussed the first time around.
  11. Gilsenen is an interesting one. Always looks decent and has a very good youth pedigree but doesn’t seem to push on.
  12. Just checked, Coventry sold €39m and spent €37m. Thats the difference chaddy. right there in a nut shell. If we spent the same amount as we bought in nobody would be complaining. That would be the same as us now going out and spending £20m+. We’re not going to do that and that’s why it’s not a fair comparison.
  13. They also spent a lot on a replacement. We’re spending it on keeping the lights on. Simms was big money, I don’t see us going and spending that sort of money on a Wharton replacement. Trading is fine if you actually spend the profit on strengthening the squad. We don’t.
  14. Now that would be a good signing… scrub that, I don’t know anything about him as I was thinking about Jason Knight who went to Bristol from Derby,
  15. I think if you’re calling those three out as the best loan signings over the last two seasons it’s a damning inditement on our use of the loan market. I thought Morton was very average and we looked better when he wasn’t in the team. Ayari made very little impact at all. I liked Chrisene but we used him for a handful of matches. It’s been a really bad couple of years for loans. Maybe we were spoilt with the Eliotts and Van Hecke’s.
  16. On the transfer stuff do we think we’ll look at Sunjic if Travis leaves? On his way out of Birmingham.
  17. Just seen that Rangers are looking at bringing in a new Keeper. Would Eustace have worked with Butland at Birmingham? He’s still under contract so it may be a non starter but could be a better option than Ruddy.
  18. Thought he looked poor when they visited us this season. I would have snapped him up a few seasons ago but feel his best days are behind him.
  19. His car analogy was absolutely spot on though. It probably doesn’t need explaining but it’s based on you saying the team is in a good state and then saying we need 7 or 8 signings. The car analogy was based on a car being in a good state despite needing 5 or 6 major additions. Im pretty sure everyone got it apart from you though.
  20. And if he’s not it makes an absolute mockery out of us loaning players out. He’s gone out and been arguably their best player for a season whilst playing at a good level. He should be pushing for a starting position this season now.
  21. On the Sherwood one he also follows it uk with ‘and then shit like me turns up’.
  22. I’d be going for Johansson early doors and try to get that done. A strong keeper will make the existing back 4/5 look much more settled. Bad keepers have an impact on the back line as the players are second guessing their decisions. The keeper is the first we need to sort.
  23. Agree that Rathbone has probably been highlighted as his dad played for us but he does seem to have been one of their better players (along with their keeper). Those mentioning Jordan James can probably think again as I’m sure he’s destined for better things. I’ll ask his dad if I see him on the dog walk later lol. What will happen with Trav? Ipswich won’t sign him. He went there to play more games and ended up playing 20 minutes in their last 11 matches. He played a lot more football here in the first half of the season. I’m sure Eustace would have spoken to him and I do think he may be more of a eustace type of player, a bit more blood and thunder. If he comes back then I don’t see us signing another central midfielder.
