  1. Christian Gross in at Spurs, for me.
  2. The amount of modern footballers that can’t even swing their weaker leg is pathetic.
  3. Where’s @goozburger when you need him? But I’d estimate a total gate of around 16,000 by KO. But that’s with a late flurry, maybe even c15k. £30-£35 was a good idea for a midweek Sky game with minimal away support, wasn’t it…
  4. True, only three of the starting XI on Saturday was an actual TM signing…
  5. Every man and his dog tuning in on TV will be expecting a ‘massive crowd’… they will be soon scratching their head.
  6. Well that’s certainly the ‘plan’, the ‘model’, we’ve been hearing about for a good while now, doing the actual ‘selling’ part of it seems to elude them though…
  7. You been on Wiki? 😁
  8. He was Greek. The Turks were a long way away from reaching Anatolia in the 4th century…
  9. ‘Form goes out the window in derbies’ is one of those lazy cliches. The team with the best players tend to win them… ergo why Everton have hardly beat Liverpool for about 25 years.
  10. A lot of pros are initially gobbled up by Academies at 7 years old, so they never really get to be the fan in the stand and it’s a job to them.
  11. You will never be ‘self sustaining’ in the Championship however many academy grads you sell.
  12. If Lamps can keep getting a gig, then why not Rodgers.
  13. Agreed. Performances aren’t declining, but poor recruitment, average players and some unbelievable bad luck has caught up with us.
  14. I think it’s both. The (almost never) coming back from going a goal down stat says it’s more than just ability.
  15. It happened with Bowyer too. Mentality not been right at this club for a decade now (wonder what the common denominator is).
  16. Certainly a strange phenomenon, massively disliked by a load on here, yet never a murmur against him at Ewood. No middle ground, which is odd as he’s a very middling kind of guy.
  17. He’s a decent manager, something those with Mowbray Derangement Syndrome won’t accept.
  18. Penny wise, pound foolish has been their mantra throughout.
  19. Shows the difference a *good* loan can do in a key area…
  20. I think people tend to be revisionist with managers as time passes (unless the likes of Ke*n, of course). The bloke had a lot of good qualities, but surely it can’t be argued that he was the right man for the job on a permanent basis, whereas JDT certainly is.
  21. Fair enough, thought we were just having a debate. You obviously rate GB more than I ever did/do. Game of opinions.
  22. St Andrews day is in Scotland, so perfectly possible. Problem you have is the date. If it’s a late Easter there’s already four bank holidays in just over a month at this time of year. Then we have just one between late May and Christmas.
  23. Bowyer revisionism now. Interesting. Nice bloke, did his best, but was learning his trade, ergo we wasted our last chance to get out the league relatively quickly. Should never have got the gig full time.
  24. Never been a back holiday, so ergo it’s never really got off the ground. Plus English/British identity was always very muddled (less so in recent years, but it’s still difficult to suddenly make a ‘day’ particularly matter to folk).
