  1. Especially when three out of the five are night games on Sky.
  2. Agreed, @Sweaty Gussets Only 19 home games in the PL, so absolutely no need to price STs at extortionate levels, especially with vast TV incomes. So get them priced at an enticing level and with all the momentum and joy around the club post a promotion you’d sell a shed load. … but yeah it will be £600 from Swag.
  3. With only 2k away fans and 9k ST holders, it’s going to be a bloody big job to even get close to c18k if they set it at Cat A (£30-£35 )for a midweek Sky game. Folk will be tuning in going ‘eh? Thought this was a big Derby? And they are both flying’. Of course what they should do is set ‘members pricing’, ‘join 1875 and get your ticket for £20’ etc… alas they won’t.
  4. The cost of living crisis doesn’t seem to be impacting the rest of football, English crowds are booming. It’s a decade of chronic mismanagement and piss poor commercial nous specifically at this club that has seen our crowds stuck at such low levels.
  5. They are up from the lowest of low ebbs post Covid, but 9,000 is still one of the lowest sales figures we’ve had for over 30 years (and some of the lowest in the divisIon). Attendances are booming across England… said boom has passed us by. Vast improvement is needed for a club that has spent pretty much two seasons at the top end of the table.
  6. The ‘Green Weekend’ or whatever it was the other week made me laugh. ’Liverpool are fully behind this Premier League initiative’ (after just taking a private jet for about a 100 miles).
  7. Football side? Best it’s been in a decade. Commerical side? As poor as it’s been in a decade.
  8. Totally missed this thread (which is odd considering how much I’m on this place 😁). If you do do another order 👋
  9. ⬆️This is what we should do. ‘Blackburn Rovers have confirmed they will be closing the Riverside Stand at Ewood Park’ ⬆️This is what we will do
  10. Far too much brainpower needed for Dingles that!
  11. Shame it’s overgrown or they’d by tarmacing Manxman hill too…
  12. ‘Tin pot mentality’ according to their forum. Surely giving away teams 7,000+ tickets purely for a payday is much more small time/lower league. Big game, so maximising home advantage, fair enough.
  13. Yet amazingly they couldn’t get the bulldozers in at Brockhall quick enough…
  14. To be fair they did for Leicester tickets and Sheff Utd coaches…
  15. 1) Anfield ‘95 2) Would love to have been around in the late 50s/early 60s when provincial/town clubs would mix it (and often have the better of) with the big city clubs at the top of the old first division.
  16. It’s noticeable that my away group (me included) has dwindled this season. Purely because you never know how you are going to get there most weeks.
  17. Swag is in the top quartile? Give me some examples of his top level commercial performance since arriving.
  18. Aye, me the other Friday, but that's another story...
  19. Of course! So half 5 it is! There will be some right states in Preston centre by 5pm...
  20. May well be right if their poster is ITK, but normally Sky only show a 5.30pm Championship game if they've no PL game at that time, and they do on that day, Man Utd v Chelsea. But who bloody knows with Sky and us these days 🤷‍♂️
  21. Massive strides on the football side. But the fact that continue to employ Swag says there is a long way to go commercially.
  22. Very patriarchal of you, Mike 😀 I honestly know loads of couples that go to games.
  23. They’ve also had a crap decade, yet they are flooding back in. Such a massive failure of marketing and pricing at this club. (Still awaiting 1864 to inform us how Swag’s operation is ‘much improved’) Nice video by the social media team, but the tag line they’ve taken from JDT ("This football club has a social impact for the people in our town”) rings hollow when they bang up prices year in year out and we continue to play to c18k empty seats. Just imagine if they harness this goodwill, this momentum with an enticing ST offer (disclaimer: they won’t).
  24. ‘We’d be battered every week’ is a familiar refrain. Is that a certainty? Who knows what players would be brought in. And even if we did, so what? The club would come down in a far stronger position. Have a look at the clubs at the top end of the league year in year out. At the end of the day the whole point of professional sport is to get to the highest level possible that your club’s resources allow, otherwise what’s the point of any of this?
