  1. Well they still have more parachute payments to come next season. Alas, the rigged system that the relegated clubs benefit from will give them another chance.
  2. Err no, 1864. Burnley were willing to charge us £25 for away tickets this season if we reciprocated at Ewood… of course, Swag said no.
  3. Could be Saturday midday as Sky do show a Championship game in that slot. But more likely the Sunday, big derbies often seem to get moved to Sunday noon, Swansea/Cardiff as an example.
  4. That was a running joke, started by the Mods…
  5. Can’t say I’m a Welsh football expert, but there’s no place for Hedges over any of these? Midfielders: Aaron Ramsey (Nice), Joe Allen (Swansea City), Harry Wilson (Fulham), Joe Morrell (Portsmouth), Dylan Levitt (Dundee United), Rubin Colwill (Cardiff City), Jonny Williams (Swindon Town), Matthew Smith (Milton Keynes Dons), Sorba Thomas (Huddersfield Town).
  6. Richardson sacked at Wigan, just the three weeks after signing a new deal. Some madcap division this…
  7. Good to see he’s being embraced by the fans… https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/topic/59694-do-you-want-nathan-jones-to-manage-southampton-football-club/#comments
  8. Totally agree, however January is a different beast. That little bit of extra ambition, even if it is a top quality loan can push you over the line. Our previous successful promotion campaigns (and previous falls away) have been testament to that. I doubt the club thought we’d be going into the second part of the season in such a strong position, so all this ‘it’s a long term plan’ etc needs to be parked and eyes on the prize, a promotion would be absolutely transformational.
  9. First time in round 4 of the League Cup since 2011, what a pathetic decade it’s been, with a collection of managers who obviously didn’t give a shite about having a run… what a difference this guy makes in so many ways.
  10. Hope you’re right gooze. For me, January will be the litmus test re has this club really changed on the football side and become the organised, professional, and ambitious outfit we’ve not seen for a decade.
  11. He goes in January, he goes, that’s football. We’ve obviously done well without him this season, my main concern is that we see a repeat of January 2022 this time round. A small squad that will be even smaller if/when he departs will need bolstering.
  12. Well obviously, same for anybody. Doesn’t mean he isn’t a handy player to have coming off the bench, especially with a fairly small and inexperienced squad.
  13. Bringing up the rear with a non-club that was plonked in a town less than 20 years ago… ’We’ve done all we can’.
  14. Bet Swag couldn’t believe his luck when this fella came through his door 🙄
  15. ‘Suggest it’s true’, there you go!
  16. ‘Sources’, you haven’t seen them, it’s not a public record, so it’s speculation.
  17. Aye, because you could eat your dinner on the Darwen End toilets after you lot have been. It’s a hobby a small minority of dickheads at all clubs engage in at every big derby game.
  18. It was some amount of improvements in that stand, no?
  19. Because you haven’t seen his contract, ergo you are speculating.
  20. World Cup ‘98, Derby’s Christian Dailly was having shocker after shocker with Scotland. Me dad used to slag him off relentlessly. Few weeks later, ‘Dad, guess who Woy has just signed for five and a half million?’ ’FFS🤬‘
  21. 7pm tonight… https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wales-world-cup-squad-announced-25412825.amp
  22. Unfortunately starcascade spends every post slagging off fellow fans, very bizarre.
  23. The football side is in good fettle, some competent people across it. Alas, the commerical side is as poor as ever, but I’ve stopped worrying about it, it’s not going to change until he finally fecks off. Let’s hope it’s sooner rather than later.
  24. End of the day if you want to sustain a promotion push you need as many good players in your squad as possible, it’s why most clubs up there strengthen in January. Vale and Hirst are not players I can see making a difference in the run in, whereas Dack is the kind of quality footballer that could change a game and help nab a vital win or 2, think of Berkovic in ‘01. Alas, he’ll be re-united with TM instead, so we can only hope from our perspective that the mistakes of last January are not repeated…
  25. Nobody is! Good grief 😁 People have no issue with his comments, it’s standard manager comms with the media. They are just amused that you have suddenly started reading between the lines after about a decade of, at times, almost unbelievable naivety on here.
