  1. Got substantial money for a load of their best players and re-invested it in good players for this level. Textbook trading of assets. A must when you need to get out before the parachute payments run out. Compare and contrast to our bin fire of 2012 and 2013.
  2. They must be scraping the barrel for contestants these days. Bit like if I flick on to Strictly, I don’t know which one is the dancer and which one the ‘celeb’!
  3. Got to remember that Vale is nearly 22, BB and SG were much further on in their development by that age, even if they had struggled at times, which is par for the course for young players. Compare with BB being a Nottingham Forest regular at 17 then a big money transfer, or the clubs Gallagher had played at on his loans at a similar age, in comparison to Vale, who scored just 1 goal over three loans at Halifax, Rochdale and Barrow. Hope he kicks on, but it’s not being ‘negative’ or something that should ‘sadden’ to state that in reality he needs to step up quickly if he wants to make it at this level.
  4. The BBC reported that incorrectly. It was actually just under 19k. As I said, all about ST sales.
  5. Thought Stephen Hendry would be more your reference point!
  6. That would be an even bigger brass neck job than the Sunderland volte face, as they made that big deal of it being £30 in the summer… so every chance then!
  7. Not enough ST holders, simple as that. We have a fairly standard 3k of walk ons currently, though that will increase if we stay up there. But when you only have 8,700 ST holders it takes a really big match day ticket turn out to make it a respectable crowd. And that obviously isn’t going to happen every week. Alternatively when you have 11k-14k ST holders like our neighbours you’ve already got that solid base in situ. Add walk ons and a good away following and you have a very healthy crowd week in week out. Crowds at clubs like ours live and die on ST sales as they make up the vast bulk of the attendance. JW never forgot it, this cretin hasn’t even bothered to learn.
  8. Must be joking, he’ll be half thinking of giving them the Riverside too…
  9. Define ‘interesting’.
  10. The football side of the club has improved markedly, the commercial side is appalling as ever. A new broom is urgently required…
  11. It’s called supply and demand. As PNE now only have limited tickets to sell in the three home stands due to large numbers of ST holders, they can charge top whack for match day tickets as its largely away fans that will be buying them… we don’t quite have that problem, do we!
  12. Scholes says that now obviously, ‘Sven wouldn’t play me where I wanted so I chucked my toys out the pram and quit’ doesn’t put him across in the best light, does it! But it was a pretty open secret at the time…
  13. We have 8,700 ST holders. It’s very simple. You either think that’s acceptable for Blackburn Rovers or you don’t. If you do, then it shows your lack of ambition and standards for this club. Though I suppose such low expectations within the fanbase shouldn’t be surprising after the past decade of attrition.
  14. Our attendances are not better than 2019/20. (Not sure why you are carrying this on considering you admitted yesterday yourself that sales are not good).
  15. Just thank the Lord we had a bit of JDT buzz in the summer and TM didn’t have another year on his deal, Christ knows what the sales would’ve been otherwise.
  16. Certainly keeps a load of folk in work…
  17. Scholes retired because he kept playing him out of position, to persevere with the ineffective Lampard/Gerrard combo…
  18. Well that’s certainly a novel way to approach life 😁
  19. £430 to £530 for new/returning fans is a disgrace and explains the poor sales and our inability to get more than 8,500-8,700 ST holders.
  20. The fact you honestly expect players to say they don’t support their managers in public says you don’t understand.
  21. It is necessary because you are debating an issue you don’t understand
  22. Used to go there for Sunday lunch, Mother’s Day meals etc. Thirty plus years ago the club actually knew how to ‘sweat the assets’…
  23. The club itself will also expect the player to back the manager/the club/teammates in public. Standard comms policy. More basic stuff really that Chad seems to struggle to grasp.
  24. He’s still only a teenager and learning his trade at the highest level so his mistakes will be amplified. Top prospects often get farmed out on loan at 18, 19, 20 to develop.
