His opinion is that’s it’s a great idea from the club. Oh and Song 2 is his favourite song.

Rename The Riverside in honour of Tony Parkes
Mattyblue replied to BigUts's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I’ve absolutely no idea why this Riverside renaming can is still being kicked down the road, it’s now nearly three *years* since it was first brought to their attention as an idea will big fan support. JFDI! -

Well there’s how we differ. I saw that promotion as a means to an end. I would never ‘enjoy’ seeing Blackburn Rovers in the third division. -

We won’t know what kind of PL club we’ll be until we get there. This debate started because J*B was questioning wanting promotion at all. A crazy attitude. But if it takes a couple of promotions and relegations to build up the club, to become a club that can always compete at the top end of this division and attempt to make a fist of the PL in the medium term, then so be it. It will lead to bigger crowds, bigger incomes, better players, better infrastructure. Infinitely better than this decade of stasis we’ve endured… -

We’ve spent a decade down here largely in mid table, so has this club been ‘competing’, even at this low level since 2012? I’d rather be non competing at the top table. -

You keep giving the ball away, keep mis-controlling the ball and you’ll get groans, that’s football crowds, everywhere, for every player. But in general the fans were right behind him. A patient, supportive lot here, the fans needs more credit from a few on here (and on wider social media with the constant slagging our fans get on it from fellow fans). -
Rename The Riverside in honour of Tony Parkes

Won’t be ‘the training ground’, just a pitch as per a previous Swag idea before he kicked the whole thing in to the overgrown Brockhall grass for two years… -
Rename The Riverside in honour of Tony Parkes
Mattyblue replied to BigUts's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
‘It had been suggested previously that the Riverside Stand could be renamed in honour of club legend Parkes. However, CEO Steve Waggott has now suggested that the training ground or a room within Ewood Park is more likely.’ Why is it ‘more likely’? -

It looks as if ‘the club’ want to move away from Dack, so for Chaddy that unquestionably makes it the right decision. That’s literally it, so not sure why folk are attempting to debate him on it day after day… -

We’ve spent most of this past decade treading water in second division mid table, in what way is that preferable to finishing, say, 15th to 17th in the PL? -

Remember when some on here tried to make out Nuttall just needed more starts… now plying his trade for the team bottom of the Conference. -
The mask always slips a bit from Longers when derby day approaches.

The fans will ‘give him a chance’. Rovers’ match going fans are a patient bunch. But if a handful of folk on here say he’s no good, so what? But in reality it’s JDT that needs to keep giving him chances, and as he’s showing, if you don’t step up, you don’t play - see JRC and Edun for examples of that. -
Can spend a full day in the stadium. Watch a match in the afternoon, then take in the public beheadings in the evening…

😁 Very salty this morning Tyrone. Good to know I have a niche though… (The irony of a certain poster liking it though, as half of the posts were attempting to explain a fairly simple issue to said poster who seems a little hard of understanding).

Yorkshire? It wishes! It’s got about half the population of that place on t’other side of the Pennines! The brazenness of the corruption really is astounding…

They’ve come down and bought top level players for this division. Just what we would expect as they have a bigger budget than non parachute clubs. Not sure what you are disagreeing with me about?
-
Got substantial money for a load of their best players and re-invested it in good players for this level. Textbook trading of assets. A must when you need to get out before the parachute payments run out. Compare and contrast to our bin fire of 2012 and 2013.

Bradley Dack - Twist or Stick?

They must be scraping the barrel for contestants these days. Bit like if I flick on to Strictly, I don’t know which one is the dancer and which one the ‘celeb’! -

Got to remember that Vale is nearly 22, BB and SG were much further on in their development by that age, even if they had struggled at times, which is par for the course for young players. Compare with BB being a Nottingham Forest regular at 17 then a big money transfer, or the clubs Gallagher had played at on his loans at a similar age, in comparison to Vale, who scored just 1 goal over three loans at Halifax, Rochdale and Barrow. Hope he kicks on, but it’s not being ‘negative’ or something that should ‘sadden’ to state that in reality he needs to step up quickly if he wants to make it at this level. -
The BBC reported that incorrectly. It was actually just under 19k. As I said, all about ST sales.

Rovers…Are We Any Good ?

Thought Stephen Hendry would be more your reference point! -
That would be an even bigger brass neck job than the Sunderland volte face, as they made that big deal of it being £30 in the summer… so every chance then!
