  1. Take it Mourinho had no right to be a manager then, Simon?
  2. That was us in 2012…
  3. The crowds are still well up on this time last season. Nearly 2,000 more home fans on than the late August game last year…
  4. He’ll get a decent reception, no question.
  5. Surprised that an out of work football manager for hire is taking a big job at one of the closest clubs to his house?
  6. Sky always say ‘Mowbray teams play good football’, so to be fair to fans of other clubs that rarely watched Rovers they will believe it. A few of us on here said he had re-built his reputation at BRFC and would get another decent Championship gig as he would be seen as a decent second tier manager within the game - the ‘one of the worst managers we’ve EVER had’ brigade weren’t for having it though…
  7. It’s a cracking blockbuster, don’t go in expecting Citizen Kane and you’ll enjoy it.
  8. ‘But a load of fans would’ve moaned ‘cos he was no good back then’ The answer to that, of course, being… so?
  9. They price the League Cup quite reasonably by the look of what they charged for Man City last season.. https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/september/27-september/last-few-man-city-tickets-available-just-ps10-adults-and
  10. Because that manager approached the games with a shrug, it was painfully obvious that he would rather have been back home up Teesside in a cup midweek than playing a fixture. So it obviously rubbed off on the team. Footballers don’t need much of an excuse to sack it off.
  11. They are a fourth division outfit, their fans will be used to watching *proper* shite teams week in week out. We are used to seeing, and so know, good second tier sides, so of course our standards are different. When somebody says ‘we were terrible today’ it’s in the context of the division we are playing in, not that we are so terrible we couldn’t go and stylishly beat Bradford, Hartlepool et al.
  12. As was Gallagher but they still got him re-signed up early (he had two years left on his existing deal).
  13. Google doesn’t even bring up anything for that. Obviously just making them up now, like we do at work with corporate jargon.
  14. No issue, if you believe you’ve spotted a value price, have a bet, it’s punting 101.
  15. Half the problem is who are you going to replace him with? In previous eras you would have round after round of Championship fixtures in high summer, so selectors could spot in form players to bring in (and send struggling ones back to their county to try and regain some form)… Now? There will not be a single Championship game in August so they can shoehorn in the county game killer all month.
  16. Just the £150 million spent by Forest on transfer fees (and then think of the wages) Best stay up…
  17. How do you ‘slow build’ in the Championship when more than half the team fecks off every season? It’s a ‘rebuild’ each time.
  18. So with the one blocker out the way, we’ve plenty to get excited about over the next two weeks…
  19. I keep reading how it was TM refusing to spend the owners’ cash (only manager I’ve ever heard of in history who doesn’t want to spend on players, but let’s go with it). JDT and GB obviously do want to spend, so I’m looking forward to plenty coming in by the 1st of September.
  20. Crawley has an average in first class cricket of 29. A Test average of 26. He has some decent shots in his locker, but he is nowhere near Test standard currently. He may come again after a year or two back in county cricket, but for now, enough is enough
  21. 1,200 - cracking turnout for a midweek down there.
  22. If Broughton is ‘a dud’, ‘an Academy man trying to learn on the job’, that is obviously down to the owners, as they have appointed somebody wholly unsuitable. The buck stops with them, always. (Far too early to judge GB, by the way).
  23. The club has to protect its assets, especially one that cost £7million. SG hasn’t exactly ripped up any trees, and there was some moaning on here when he signed a new deal last season, but so what if anonymous folk on a message board grumbled about it? The club was perfectly right to get him signed up and the exact same thing should’ve gone on with BB in 2021.
  24. It’s because rovers99 still really rates him.
  25. Please note this match is not being broadcast in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland neither on Sky Sports Red Button or RoyalsTV. This was on Reading’s site, so I presume the same stands for RoversTV.
