  1. The UK GDPR replacement kicked in on the 1st January 2021, so he is correct re there being a UK regulation to abide with, hiding behind it as a reason to not bothering trying to get lapsed ST holders back is another issue…
  2. That Riverside though! The original stand was a thing of beauty, so it always amuses me that some fans get all wistful about it’s early 90s, done on the cheap, shed replacement - it’s only two years older than the re-built Darwen End! Jack had planned for it have long gone by now, the fact it looks like an old relic has made some fans forget that it isn’t, just a cheap one.
  3. Ha, I wouldn’t look too deeply into it Glen, the Chadster has obviously just googled ‘famous Indian companies’.
  4. Yet Swag is crowing because we’ve just about scraped over last summer’s abysmal 6,995, neatly sidestepping the fact we had 8,500 by the end of January. I mean, if you ever wanted a prime example of how that fool has diminished this football club. The only hope for a respectable figure is that this second extension pushes a high number of the 2,250 existing ST holders who hadn’t renewed into doing so. But if they hadn’t renewed by now, will re-taking £30 off the price make much difference? I suppose we’ll see on the 1st July. But not to worry, ‘he knows’ about all the disquiet around pricing, so here’s hoping for some sensible offers by about 2030.
  5. I’m seeing changes on the football side, but of course we haven’t signed anybody, we haven’t played a game against anybody, so I’m not getting carried away, but it’s certainly promising. However on the commercial side it sounds like SW is saying all the right things, however another season is upon us and yet we are still seeing the same mistakes. So he is either a very slow learner, doesn’t have the authority to make the changes he wants or he is just fobbing folk off and will carry on running the non playing parts of the club as he has since he arrived - short term profit and loss over strategic and long term growth. Fair play to anybody trying to keep communication channels open, but unfortunately, commercially, I see little improvement (and sadly that isn’t ‘bollocks’) so will continue to bang this drum until I do, as it is vitally important for the future wellbeing of this fantastic club we all hold dear.
  6. As much as I’d love to see Swag depart, I’m just not getting that vibe at all. The way I see it is, yes, he’ll now be doing less on the football side with a DoF in situ, so he’ll just be focusing on the commercial/revenue side (🤦‍♂️)
  7. The fact I really enjoy this tallying investigation shows how sad I really am. (But glad it’s not just me 😁).
  8. Indeed, it’s all very ‘Scunthorpe Skip Hire’ “Think Big”… to “That place next to the Havelock, Rovers fans, aren’t they? Yeah they’ll do”
  9. Think you’re right… had to read it a couple of times though! 👏 Swag, takes some doing to make such a convoluted mess.
  10. It was 6,995, the 7,300 was quoted by Waggott in November’s FF meeting and he was including the half STs that had been sold to date. So yes 6,995 full, 8,500 including half STs
  11. He got rid of A+ , A was kept, though they did stop using Cat A too in the run in (I.è Blackpool, Stoke and AFCB all could have been made ‘A’ and weren’t) to help boost walk ons,
  12. 6,995 full STs as per FF minutes, not 7,300. So selling a mighty 7,082 thus far is therefore a success in Waggott’s cynical mind (ignoring the fact we had 8,500 ST holders at the end of the season).
  13. It depends who we play, if it’s any side that will fetch 2k+ away support then it’s obviously going to be £30+ Cat A pricing.
  14. @goozburger We sold just under 7,000 full ST/ according to Waggott himself in last September’s Fans Forum. Final tally 8,500 including half STs according to April’s fans forum September 2021 FF minutes: April 2022 minutes:
  15. Calling JDT a ‘shit appointment’ (nobody has by the way) when there is absolutely no evidence to say that - negative, definitely. Criticising poor ST sales, as it will impact the team, the budget, the atmosphere, and outlining what they should’ve done instead - not negative.
  16. Presume that’s a gag, but I’d like anybody to outline how my posts are ever ‘negative’ about Blackburn Rovers? Some of the clowns running it, certainly, but I only ever post from a standpoint of devotion to the club and what is best for it, and how it can improve; a very ‘positive’ mindset.
  17. Hands up to being one of the main culprits on that score! On the appointments I’ve not seen such positivity on here for a looonngg time. Perhaps the mods could move the important but not particularly relevant to this thread ticket discussions to the ST thread?
  18. Yep all my away game crew panic bought membership due to Fleetwood FOMO (imagine thinking that a decade ago!), got bugger all else out of it!
  19. Pretty much the only club with more ridiculous prices than us… their sales are reportedly also well down, funny that!
  20. Didn’t we try this with the 1875 club? Died on its arse not long after we left L1.
  21. Yes I see. Agreed that throwing £30 million a year down the toilet year after year means nowt to them. The general state of the commercial operation is testament to revenue generating being left to wither on the vine as the millions roll in from Pune to plug gaping holes in incomings… However, Waggott is still supposedly judged on short term revenue targets (that he always misses), which is a big reason we see these outrageous ticket prices and crowds thus falling year on year, he therefore has no motivation to introduce enticing pricing that can get folk back in the tent and build back a fanbase long term. As always noting ever adds up in Venky World.
  22. Yes, as I’m talking bums on seats, attendances etc. Apologies if we are at cross purposes, what’s your point?
  23. They simply aren’t ’irrelevant’, as last season showed. If we’d had more ST holders crowds would have been higher when we sat second. ’Home straight’ I agree we would as that is a different issue, as you are getting loads of floating fans coming out the woodwork in a promotion run in that you wouldn’t see for a game, in say, February. That’s the case everywhere.
  24. That’s true, but we also need robust ST sales as a base. Look at last season, walk ons doubled as we sat near the top, but as we now only have a very small number of ST holders, crowds still struggled to get over 13/14k, yes that’s better than the 10k earlier in the season, but not good enough for team second in the league. Now if we sell c10k STs and then charge up the league, that’s when you see big c17/18k crowds on a regular basis. So ST sales are important.
  25. We’ve had a spike since JDT, so thankfully the absolutely horrendous sales of this time last week have been improved on, thank God. However, Bolton, Burnley, PNE have all sold c12/13k. We had sold just over 7k on Friday (our joint lowest sales at this stage for 30+ years, level with last season’s disastrous sales). So don’t come on here giving it the big ‘un if you haven’t even bothered to check the figures. Unfortunately we won’t be ‘selling the most in many years’ and will be selling less than all three of those clubs. Something I never thought I’d type and that is on the pathetic ‘leadership’ that you now seem to have no issue with post a few brews in a certain office.
