  1. They were until that ‘great sponsor’ went bust half way through their deal…
  2. The Wind that Shakes The Barley is a great film on the Civil War, with Cillian Murphy. People often get confused with Irish politics and wonder why two centre-right parties have historically been the two that have contested power and not one each from left and right. It goes back to the Civil War - Fianna Fàil being anti treaty, party of Eamon De Valera, and Fine Gael (Michael Collins) being for it.
  3. Interesting that he used Ince as an example, and he was correct to do so, as that was the last time BRFC was a normal club and fans actually had any influence in helping to get a failing manager out the door…
  4. So Miller’s assessment is inaccurate? Sounds like if you refuse to accept mediocrity and want better for the club you are ‘negative’. Whilst if you merely accept the status quo and the non entities that run it, those that have overseen Miller’s said assessment you are ‘positive’. How Orwellian…
  5. You’ve saved me a post. Amazing how a certain poster is so easily placated with a bit of corporate guff in an Ewood meeting room whilst ignoring the actual tangible evidence that shows a club in a big a hole as ever…
  6. Which is all a pointless false economy anyway, as they’ll still separately chuck millions in just to plug the financial hole that is perpetuated by being a perennial second division club with a cheap manager… So go figure 🤷‍♂️
  7. Any particular reason you’ve logged on this morning behaving like a 12 year old?
  8. Yes, they behave themselves…
  9. Hang on, you’ve slagged off Mercer’s tidbits all season, now he’s gospel?
  10. You don’t miss watching good games?
  11. A mate was at a wedding last night and he got talking to a bloke that works in the Man Utd press office… Carrick has had an interview. (Am I am ITK-er now 😁 ?)
  12. Jordan Pickford, Reece James, Harry Maguire, John Stones, Kyle Walker, Luke Shaw, Declan Rice, Kalvin Phillips, Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane…
  13. Kaminski trains with Courtois one week… Pears the next.
  14. And if either of those two had been rumoured to being close to being appointed you’d be championing them instead…
  15. Let’s just hope whoever gets it doesn’t get too long a deal, as they won’t be going anywhere until the end of it whatever the results are…
  16. Yep, move till end of June for claim your seat, oh and scrap the new/returning fan tax immediately.
  17. Local journos hate the close season. There’s no matches to report on and they can’t just roll up to the pressers and file days worth of copy on the back of whatever banal stuff a manager comes out with. But filling your pages with rumours from this place really is scraping the barrel!
  18. Of course ‘vision’ ‘strategy’ should be a two way street or why would the manager (or club) waste their time?
  19. I would be surprised, and I’d be happy enough if we can get back to c9k+ of 2019/20 (though imagine being happy with 9k sales a few years back, but it’s a base to work from). * But be wary of the club over egging the positivity when it comes to sales, heard it before; I.e ‘on track’, ‘not far from…’ The reality may be very different.
  20. ‘Logical reasons’, main one being ‘no bugger’s buying them’ ?
  21. Ha my phone tried to correct it to yon mon 🤡, should’ve kept it…
  22. It will be the penny wise, pound foolish false economists that are the Raos all over if we miss out on a decent manager due to not wanting to pay up the likes of Lowe and Benson, for what will in all likelihood be peanuts…
  23. ‘Sweat the asset’, whatever the size of your business is, and they do it brilliantly. Compare and contrast…
  24. If they do sell 12k STs, with walk ons and a standard away following they will be looking at 16/17k crowds for a normal game, with plenty of 20k+ crowds when a decent sized away following traps - just like Bolton. Yet, we will in all likelihood be seeing more c9,000 crowds like we did in the first half of last season. Obviously not a single lesson has been learnt from the shambles of last summer and the embarrassment of selling the lowest numbers of STs for 30+ years… but isn’t that just the the problem, nobody senior at Blackburn Rovers, either here or in Pune, will be remotely embarrassed (or be held accountable).
