The Wind that Shakes The Barley is a great film on the Civil War, with Cillian Murphy. People often get confused with Irish politics and wonder why two centre-right parties have historically been the two that have contested power and not one each from left and right. It goes back to the Civil War - Fianna Fàil being anti treaty, party of Eamon De Valera, and Fine Gael (Michael Collins) being for it.

I would be surprised, and I’d be happy enough if we can get back to c9k+ of 2019/20 (though imagine being happy with 9k sales a few years back, but it’s a base to work from). * But be wary of the club over egging the positivity when it comes to sales, heard it before; I.e ‘on track’, ‘not far from…’ The reality may be very different.

‘Sweat the asset’, whatever the size of your business is, and they do it brilliantly. Compare and contrast…

If they do sell 12k STs, with walk ons and a standard away following they will be looking at 16/17k crowds for a normal game, with plenty of 20k+ crowds when a decent sized away following traps - just like Bolton. Yet, we will in all likelihood be seeing more c9,000 crowds like we did in the first half of last season. Obviously not a single lesson has been learnt from the shambles of last summer and the embarrassment of selling the lowest numbers of STs for 30+ years… but isn’t that just the the problem, nobody senior at Blackburn Rovers, either here or in Pune, will be remotely embarrassed (or be held accountable).
