Just a pointlessly divisive thread to start when the forum and team is generally in a good place.

Went to Stoke last season and it was a half empty morgue. Birmingham and Boro the same. Thats generally what happens when you become a middling Championship club.

Where are all these ‘hostile’ Championship grounds? I’ve been to pretty much all of them and I can’t recall many. Can you quantify how this non hostile Ewood crowd has somehow ended up also being more ‘aggressively critical’ than anywhere else? Considering the shite we’ve endured for a decade, the Ewood crowd has been more than patient - the way Ewood has been right behind BB is testament to that. And an odd fella shouting bollocks is a Blackburner phenomenon now? Who needs Dingles when you have our own fans spouting such inaccuracies...

One odd thing from that season is coaching staff wearing the home shirt, recall Tony Parkes wearing it often too. -
Andy Neild was a good journo, Rovers fan too. Andy Cryer? Right place, right time for him as the Kean debacle got him a (brief) gig at the BBC.

I always thought Tyler was one of the all time great commentators, but have to agree, the last few years his commentaries have just become 90 minutes of him rambling and going off on tangents.

Every chance it never even gets to a stage where socially distanced seats are allocated...

Soccer Saturday as a premise is 4 ex pros being watched as they watch football... for about 6 hours. So of course it needs to be light hearted with them bouncing off each other, not earnest tactical discussion all day long (not that the new panelists can offer that either) but as you say, Sky seem to have forgot what the show’s USP is, diversity quotas need to be met, I suppose...

I suppose it’s true in a black comedy kind of way, finally getting them on sale and getting over 2,000 folk forking out £400 - £600 for a pass not to enter Ewood Park just as East Lancs went into lockdown and Boris pretty much confirmed no entry until at least March Tell you what ain’t ‘encouraging’, though. 18,000 ST holders lost in a decade.

Kudos to Micah Richards and his agent. Gone from nowhere to everywhere in about 12 months...

Even the leadership of the Rovers Trust are now in lockstep with said minions by the look at their posts on here. Couple that with the ever-acquiescent Fans Forum, who would the club even consult with these days that would give them some actual hard truths and warn them of the idiocy of their policies?

Out of contract in June, be interesting to see if he even gets offered a new deal, as opinions on his actual ability aside, we just don’t get the games out of a player who you imagine is one of our top earners. -
‘Wise words’ ’’The club is in safe hands’ ... Are some of the usual top rated comments on the LT following whatever corporate waffle he’s just been spouting.

Going to absolutely piss it down all day tomorrow, let’s hope the pitch can hold up... -
Does a ‘damn good deal’ normally lose three quarters of existing buyers?
-
Bit of a different issue, but what riles me is when you are watching/listening to a sport bulletin on the news/5 Live etc and the presenter, a ‘specialised’ sports presenter at that, can’t even pronounce fairly high profile sport stars/clubs.

Viking origin, I believe, a lot of Lanky dialect comes from then.

‘Stop skriking yer mard arse’
-
Don’t know skriking? Yon mon’s been out of Lancs too long, obviously!
-
BRFCS.com Match Thread c2010 chaddyrovers ‘Last minute winner? 3 points? PL top half? Who cares? Load of shit that, was nearly skriking walking up Livesey Branch’

Considering they put them on sale for just two weeks, with a hefty price rise, only days before a local lockdown and then a government announcement of probably no fans allowed until Spring, they’ve done well to sell 2k... (Yep, done well to sell 10% of what we had a decade ago. ‘I’d like to put on record my gratitude to the owners’).
-
We win a crap game with a scrappy goal off Darragh’s arse - I get a Sunday paper, study the tables, next fixtures, ‘ooo where can we go with a win next week?’ watch Quest, watch the Sky highlights, watch Super Sunday, generally loving life. We lose an ‘entertaining’ game and Quest will be deleted and I’ll try and avoid anything football related till at least Monday.
-
Winning always comes before ‘good football’, it’s the winning that improves the club. You combine the two? Then even better. But that often isn’t possible if you want to win consistently in the PL on a low budget... so would I feel ‘awful’ after yet another home PL win? Never as I knew what not winning games can lead to for a club of our size, alas too many didn’t...

Indeed, that Souness Promotion side was an absolute juggernaut once we got going in the new year. Full of top quality players for the division. Proven by the core of the side then winning the League Cup and finishing 6th in the PL in subsequent seasons. Anybody thinking our current side is close to that in either quality or standard of football obviously can’t remember 2001- 2003.

Nobody is enjoying these thrashings as much as me (we’ve played 3 league matches, by the way, so it’s a daft discussion), but from this very small sample size, better football than a side containing some of the world’s top players in ‘95? Better than early Souness? Not for me, however those two sides I mentioned had one of, if not the biggest budgets in their league (the Souness promotion team, not his PL team), so this team achieving promotion would probably be a bigger achievement.
