  1. We weren’t far off one of those a couple of Tuesdays ago in Storm Ciara (11,000 official ‘attendance’, of course )
  2. Ha you’ve asked for it now! Literalists incoming...
  3. Not knocking TM. Unlike many others I’ve never called for his head. However, think GB deserves a lot of respect for the job he did around 2013, when there was every chance of back to back relegations with the club engulfed in a civil war.
  4. Depends if we, as a club, embrace safe standing or not. It makes sense to me, as it allows it for both home and away fans, doesn’t impact any existing season ticket holders and can be used as the basis for a Singing Section which will only help the atmosphere in the ground.
  5. Good for you. I on the other hand support English football, so I hope the ‘Big 6’ get knocked out as early as possible, to stop them raking in even more cash to the detriment of our game and it’s competitiveness.
  6. Or you make the DE lower safe standing, home/away split.
  7. No I said he’s had a more stable club to operate in, which those first months aside, he has.
  8. Bloody hell Darwen Dave’s been a councillor some years...
  9. Indeed, so if it doesn’t impact FFP, and the owners ‘never refuse to sign a cheque’ and are ‘desperate to invest’, I assume Waggott will have the bulldozers ordered...
  10. It’s just a bit of speculative chat on a Sunday afternoon. As we know nothing will come of it, apart from maybe necessary remedial work.
  11. We have one? I thought that was for just requesting signed photos of Harry Chapman...
  12. I wasn’t particularly a big Bowyer fan. But by his third full season he had to flog pretty much any player of decent quality, Mowbray has spent £12million in his third season. GB started with a basket case, ended in an embargo. I probably rate Mowbray higher, but how is the job TM’s done ‘far ahead’ of GB?
  13. Well adding up is a fair assumption, no? All online ground guides have it as 11k. Only thing for it, get counting those Riverside dots on the e-ticketing site. Who wants to volunteer?
  14. How can it be? It’s a 31,000 capacity.
  15. Splitting hairs? I take it you’ve forgotten the 2012/2013 version of Blackburn Rovers?
  16. 4 to 4.5k. 11k Jack Walker 8k a piece behind the goal.
  17. Went to West Brom back in August, thought their West Stand would be an ideal size and style. Close proximity to the pitch, has the TV gantry, Exec facilities etc. Just need to add raised platforms for disabled supporters. Good, old, decently sized club, West Brom - a capacity of 27,000.
  18. Ah I thought it stood for The Rickety Shed.
  19. Knowing this regime more likely to be akin to Luton’s ‘Executive stand’...
  20. Possibly, but even with said facilities that’s a big space for only a 1,000 capacity.
  21. Going down to 28,000 means reducing the Riverside capacity by 3,000. It only holds around 4,000 now. So that would mean a replacement would be an Accy Stanley size stand, some contrast to the Jack Walker!
  22. Frustrating thing is, he’s so quick he didn’t need to be on the shoulder, don’t give the linesman the option!
  23. Who were these loads of posters who said Cunningham was a bad signing, who is a proven performer at this level. or Tosin, or Holtby. Johnson was widely praised as another solid Championship pro. Downing, less so, more to us being burned in the past by older players.
  24. Thought he lived down here 5 days a week.
  25. Oh lighten up it’s Saturday night.
