Brentford (A) - 12:30pm KO (Sat 22nd Feb 2020)

Then fine, but it’s a bit literal. As an example, losing to already relegated Forest at home in 1999 didn’t mathematically put us down, but with only treble winners elect Man Utd and Newcastle away to come, it was deemed ‘must win’, we lost and we all knew we were fecked. Like a lot of things in football, it’s an expression, a mind set. -

So by your reckoning no game is a ‘must win’ unless not getting 3 points on a given day means you are mathematically unable to get in the playoffs, out of the bottom 3 etc. -
Good write up of the 3 year anniversary in the LT. But of course, can’t be the Telegraph without a glaring error - apparently TM is the first manager since Souness to clock up 3 years... apart from the near 4 years of Mark Hughes, of course! https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/18250919.mowbray-saw-rovers-a-project-approaches-milestone/

As a few of us said when he came back, we won’t see Mulgrew in a first team shirt again. Pay off or a move to Australia/America etc in the summer, you’d imagine. -
I think the club has rejected it as an idea as they’ve pretty much admitted a shed load wouldn’t then buy full STs, just a weekend one, and we’d be down to the kind of bums on seats we saw against Hull, but as an official crowd with the revenue decline that goes with it.

Would you sign Christian Walton
Mattyblue replied to Prelude's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
He will be ahead of Steele in the pecking order. These English squad fillers are non players. A ruse to pass the home grown quota. Read this about Andy Lonergan at Liverpool, he says himself ‘I don’t play for Liverpool, I train for them’ https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.thisisanfield.com/2020/02/andy-lonergans-unique-insight-proves-right-views-of-this-liverpool-squad/amp/ -
These stories are planted by agencies.

A ‘few’ are, but in the grand scheme of things the numbers of actual boycotters is small. Of course loads jump on the bandwagon, that’s football. In 1987 we had average crowds of under 10,000, we took 30,000 to Wembley for the Full Members Cup. Similar in ‘92 for the play off final. 30,000 to Cardiff in 2002, 25,000 to Old Trafford for the FA Cup semi in 2007.
-
Very few are staying away out of principle. We are talking about floating fans, some go semi-regularly, some go every now and then, to the ones that would go to a special occasion - fanbases are made up of many type of fan. That’s why clubs with crowds of 10,000 take 30/40,000 to Wembley.
-
Chaddy - I’m talking about a singing section, look at the make up of singing sections at Huddersfield/Reading/Bristol City/Palace predominantly young adults (yes I know you wouldn’t be part of it, you sit in your seat at 2pm, chat to your pals etc, but try and think of others for once)
-
Done wonders for them off the pitch, their crowds have pretty much doubled. They had many a crowd around the 18k-22k mark before he came. That ‘magnificently supported club’ that’s the only side In one of our biggest cities. (Something the media forgets)
-
... with a singing section with good prices for young adults That demographic need enticing back and for them Ewood currently just isn’t a place with any buzz.
-
We’ll sell a few hundred like usual and Waggott will then be back in the LT throwing his hands up saying ‘but we’ve tried everything’, when in fact he’s trying the same thing over and over, what’s that over used Einstein quote again?
-
Then if you know the table ‘this lack of plan B’ isn’t doing them much harm, is it? Or maybe Bielsa knows more than the tactical geniuses on the internet...

The Dingles have gone much quieter on crowds since they realised they were largely spouting bollocks pre PL. PNE lot are the obsessives these days -

The club are normally fairly truthful on such matters. They tweeted we’d sold around 2,000 for Charlton this time last week. -
Time to commit, Roger! Otherwise, I don’t wan’t to see you at Wembley

Ok, you’re not getting it. Stopping replying as my ‘don’t go full Frank Grimes’ alarm is going off.

WE know it’s great value. A season ticket is great value, it will save them hundreds of pounds over a season, so why then is there always a big queue at the ticket office at half 2 for match ticket purchasers and collectors? Are they all stupid? Or rich? No, it’s because they are a ‘floating’ fan, the clue is in the name. They float in to Ewood every now and then and if it costs them £25-£30 for the privilege, they’ll take that instead of tying themselves into a season ticket/Big 6 because they aren’t as committed as me and thee to be there every other week and on a load of midweek nights. Chaddy in not understanding other people’s lifestyles shocker.
