  1. Those skin things under a short sleeved shirt instead of these things of beauty.
  2. I’ve noticed they’ve made Bristol City Cat A even though it’s down as a Cat B on the season list. I presume trying to manoeuvre folk towards the bundle.
  3. Worked some years at Rovers, Barbara Magee...
  4. I’m making a comparison to other competitions and what is deemed a success. We all use comparisons when discussing topics. Not sure how that means I’ve lost an argument Anyway I’ll defer to Dreams’ post, as I’ve been in enough barneys for one day.
  5. Yet free tickets and it’s miraculously full again... some protest
  6. Their gates had dropped 10,000 this season until they gave away free half STs. How spoilt, take away their Deserve Trophy.
  7. I’m talking about this past decade.
  8. Being silly there EiT. Palace wasn’t a ‘success’, but Don Mackay was a top manager for Blackburn Rovers with the environment he had to work in.
  9. Amazing how much folk just lap up Sky hyperbole. 50,000 Newcastle fans from a big city and a region with very few league clubs in it are loyal. The 12,000 or so Rovers fans that have stuck by the club this past decade are loyal (small town, surrounded by professional football clubs, as many just in east Lancs as the whole north east of England). The lower league fans that stick by their club instead of supporting glory clubs are loyal. No individual club or fan deserves anything.
  10. They are one of 3 league clubs in the whole north east of England, and the only PL club in the region. So of course they fill their ground. Not sure why that means they ‘deserve’ anything. Are they more committed than a Rovers fan? No, there’s just more of them as an accident of geography.
  11. It’ll only get worse. The idea is to make the group stage even longer to try and fend off a European Super League (as if it isn’t one already).
  12. Get Newcastle out as soon as possible. The media would be unbearable if that lot won a trophy. ’But their fans deserve success’
  13. So you can’t explain the fact you’ve been moaning about SG playing wide, even though he doesn’t play wide. Fair enough. As for the second paragraph, you 12 years old?
  14. Yeah thought so. You need to start watching the games and get an understanding, obviously.
  15. No I’ll learn from a guru like your good self Paul. So where has Gallagher been playing for most of this season? As I’m pretty sure you’ve been posting too at a loss to why TM kept shunting him out wide?
  16. We’ll be selling plenty, then?
  17. The 80s were a great decade. Not a pot to piss in, but consistently at the top end of the second division, some quality players and a cup win.
  18. Oh Mani. I’m obviously picking up on the fact they can’t be ‘wide men’, if they don’t play wide, can they! Though I’m sure Gallagher spends most of his time toiling down the flank, but I’m sure your Jonty signed coaching manual will have a different term for it. As for the Mr Elite football, please enlighten me?
  19. If our ‘wide men don’t play wide’, what are they then?
  20. That, my Dreamy friend is it in a nutshell.
  21. We hit an arbitrary target of TM and it’s case closed? I’m taking about the club, you know that thing that’s been here for 150 years and will be after TM departs. TM wants to progress the club, I do. Top 6 helps to do that. However, losing play offs doesn’t not equate to success. Getting to a cup final is great also, shows you are a good side, not a success if you lose it. I’m not sure you understand the point of professional sport BDS.
  22. Losing in the play-offs does not equate success. Talk to any Rovers fan 40+ and ask them about the Crystal Palace ‘89 play off final and they will still shudder; ‘one of the worst days ever as a Rovers fan’, ‘awful’. My dad can’t listen to ‘Glad All Over’, the Palace party song to this day. I don’t recall many saying... ‘ah well, at least it was a successful season’, it wasn’t, we lost.
  23. On the coach back from play off defeat. Gutted. Half the bus in tears. ’What a successful season, incredible’, I’ll see what the reaction is.
  24. Fulham have the biggest budget in the league so not the best example. Other clubs are doing well without that kind of outlay.
