I didn’t say we weren’t doing well. I said 8th in the table isn’t incredible, which it isn’t.
-
Forget about semantics, I had enough of that with Mix-gate. Finishing top 6 in itself is not an achievement, it’s an arbitrary position in the table that opens the door to what we all actually want. Of course there are positives to be had, promotion, obviously, or even in defeat if we build on a top 6 finish through increased crowds, better players and so on, become a real force next season then great. However, many a club doesn’t, loses players and momentum and falls away, ‘Remember that time we finished 6th in 2020?’won’t mean much if it isn’t a springboard.

Derby County (A) - Sunday 8th March [3pm KO]

Bring back Danny Baker! -
You must have lower standards than me BDS. Getting in the top 6 would show us as an upwardly mobile club and that’s not to be sniffed at going forward - would help ST sales, sponsors, player incomings and outgoings and so on. But it’s a 1 in 4 shot, you lose and it’s an ‘incredible’ achievement? We go up and it would be incredible, akin to winning the lottery and something I thought I may never see again.

Going up would be incredible.

Thanks Father Chadwick.

Darrenrover, it’s the same offer we’ve had 4 times this season with diminishing returns each time. And now with half of them likely to be on TV, it will flop... again. Reduced prices for a couple of games in the run in is all we needed to do.

Every chance West Brom goes to a Monday night too...

Famous last words. Leeds now Friday night on Sky... https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/18279643.rovers-game-leeds-united-moved-sky-sports-coverage/

We will in all likelihood finish top 10/mid-table in the Championship. ‘Incredible’ wouldn’t be how I’d describe it.

Toisin will be 23 early next season. In the old days he’d be either looking to make a breakthrough in City’s team or moving on. But in this age of loan fees and loan managers, you can see him having another season (and another and another) somewhere... though possibly a PL loan next time.

People need to stop saying ‘well it’s a good deal and the part timers should just get behind the lads’. Value is in the eye of the beholder, and if no bugger buys these bundles, it obviously ain’t good value for our customer base.

Well we know why, the school is a paying sponsor... -
Yeah I suppose it gets them on the database as multi ticket buyers, so presumably easier to up sell to a ST in the summer?
-
Yeah I suppose even defenders got splurged on in the early years. But since relegation?
-
Thinking off the top of my head here. But a couple of hundred grand for Bell aside, have we bought a keeper or defender for decent money in Venky’s time?

If only there was another centre half captain hanging around the place...

£10 tickets do sell well. Put Oxford to one side, Wigan was our biggest ever home turn out in the Championship since 2012. And that was a night match on Sky. Bundles don’t work because the kind of fans that want to sign up to multi games tickets (I.e ST/half ST) already have. Yes the floating fan would be making savings as it’s a good deal aping ST prices, but they aren’t in the habit of buying multi match bundles, just a game when they fancy. Though this may sell better as the prices are psychologically more palatable at £69 then £100+ and (currently) no night matches. But it’s still £100 in the JW Upper. Let’s hope for a win on Sunday if there’s any hope for flogging a few! Should have just made it £15-£20 anywhere for West Brom on Easter Monday and a tenner for Reading and left it as that.

They did go to Asian schools as lad behind me works in one and was waving across to the kids in the JW lower. -
That’s what I said they should’ve done. Doing a Big 6 starting with a February night match available on the red button was a daft idea... and I imagine they sold a handful. But this won’t sell either, as bundles just don’t, but they carry on regardless.

Would you sign Christian Walton

Could well be in the Championship themselves next season, so a keeper with a few seasons in this league could come in handy... -

Bolton have downgraded their academy to Cat 3 and scrapped their U23 side. -
We’re 8th in the second division.

I’m sure TM does have plans and players he wants, after all he’s worked in plenty of normal clubs. However, the fact that here nothing ever moves until after that yearly meeting means we will always be playing catch up.

Are we having our best season? We still had a chance of the top 6 going into the last day under Bowyer in 2014. Lets see where this lot are in May.
