  1. End of the day he will be here next season. But you’ve been around the block long enough to spot the flashing warning signs - yesterday was surely one of those?
  2. Fine. Every choice you make in life is then a guess. You use evidence and experience to help you formulate these guesses/choices. Mowbray has guessed wrong, repeatedly. And he’s the ‘football man’. Says a lot about his judgement and if we should expect things to improve.
  3. I was guessing that just buying young players would be problematic I was just guessing that most promoted League 1 teams drop off in the second half of the season. I was just guessing that letting go of one of our only recognised centre halves in the middle of an injury crisis would turn out badly. Modern day Nostradamus me.
  4. Yeah why couldn’t he. It obviously is the owners view that we should bring in young, English players for future profits. But he’s signed up to it. Im not sure why me (and plenty of others) getting things right and Mowbray getting it wrong has anything to do with ‘Fifa’, the only ‘ultimate team’ is in TM’s head.
  5. I imagine Rodwell is in the same boat as Reed, TM has probably heard from him or his ‘people’ that he won’t be here next season.
  6. No egg on my face. I said BB was an odd signing then and nothing so far has changed my view on that debacle. I said repeatedly that largely concentrating transfer policy on bringing in young, English players was a fools errand. You must also bring in experienced heads. I also said that many promoted sides have good starts and then run out of steam - perfect for January signings. So the season has turned out how I imagined - though this run is certainly worse than anything I envisaged.
  7. Just shows the lunacy in signing up Smallwood, Evans, Bennett et al on lucrative new deals. No chance they’d be snapped up by anyone else, so surely you see how the season in the higher league pans out? If they are up to it, you start to hand out the new deals around now. If not, thanks for your efforts, but we won’t be needing you next season, freeing up valuable space in the squad for upgrades. Now in the summer, we are going to have a squad full of contracted, well paid, league 1 footballers, seriously restricting our room for manoeuvre. Jobs for the boys mentality that will do is serious harm.
  8. This ‘hindsight’ thing again. It was said on ‘negative brfcs’ repeatedly that the summer spending had the wrong priorities. Again in January it was repeatedly pointed out that the squad, especially at the back, needed strengthening. The fact Mowbray took a different path was down to his own rank bad management, hindsight doesn’t come into it.
  9. The more telling thing I got from his tweets were how ‘loyal’ the owners are. Put that together with his relationship with Waggott and I doubt his position is under much threat.
  10. Rothwell doesn’t do enough defensively, apparently, to help the full back when played wide. Bennett certainly does, as his ‘engine’ for getting up and down the flank is probably his best (only?) quality. Rothwell likes to roam the pitch and play ‘between the lines’. So, who does he play as number 10 and who does he play wide?
  11. That Beetlejuice in the LT comments said Williams received a load of abuse when he came on? Did anyone else hear that?
  12. Pissed or hung over? Good job we only sign ‘proper humans’.
  13. I spotted on Facebook that some had freebies in the JW upper. Was the BBEND upper actually full?
  14. As tomphil says, takes a lot to move the Rovers support - unless you’re Coyle. I can still remember getting into rows about Kean on the Blackburn End, in his SECOND season. He had much more support for much longer than many like to remember.
  15. Have you heard anyone at Ewood or anyone you know in ‘real life’ that is an attendee saying he should be replaced? I haven’t. And not just that, he rarely seems to even get criticised directly, ‘it is player x’s fault’, ‘player y isn’t good enough’ etc. The total opposite of Coyle and later Bowyer eras.
  16. Some are like that, of course. But I can’t remember a manager that gets such unequivocal support by so many as this fella.
  17. Not saying it wasn’t time for him to go, it was. More comparing how TM avoids any criticism with the majority of Ewood.
  18. Bowyer was at the end of the road. However, he’d been left with a poor squad and spent nowt in the last 12 months. Yet, the fans wanted him gone. This fella has spent £10 million this season, has us in the same position as GB, but because we got out of a tinpot league he gets a free pass from the support.
  19. So Dack turned up and was sent home for not ‘being in the right frame of mind’, I believe.
  20. Thought I’d test the mood music around me today. Nobody had even contemplated his removal. Even when I pushed them by saying ‘well what if we get go say October and we are in the bottom 3?’ Even then there was only a begrudging acceptance that he should be even under threat. Bombproof with the majority of Ewood I would wager.
  21. He’s living right in the centre of Manchester now by the looks of it, Beetham Tower, I think. What could possibly go wrong?
  22. Also, does anyone know of any schools outside BwD borough they have been involved?
  23. Reaction to a Mowbray interview... brfcs - ‘more Kean-esque nonsense.’ ‘Bloke’s lost the plot’. LT comments - ‘Wise words as always from Tony’.
  24. Oh aye, crackers they turned a 1,000 folk down.
