Season Tickets 2019/2020Mattyblue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Well that's interesting Steve because according to the Fans Forum minutes from last September we sold 9,461. We then added more half STs and sold a total of 10, 096 (according to January Fans Forum) I presumed therefore that our target this season would be north of that, 11k or so. Seems like he has now come out with a smaller figure sold (8,750) and our target is less than last season's total, some ambition! 'SW stated that season tickets had been taken off sale after the Aston Villa game and that sales stood at 9,641. This was below the club’s stretch target of 10,500, although that target included half season ticket sales (typically around 300-400).' https://www.rovers.co.uk/contentassets/72f15c4f64fc46be88e3fa7646577133/ff-minutes-17.9.18.pdf 'Half day season tickets had now gone off sale. 399 had been sold, making a total of 10.096 season tickets.' https://www.rovers.co.uk/contentassets/d47edf0f19cd47dea3a73e898f8da69c/ff-minutes-7.1.19.pdf

Season Tickets 2019/2020Mattyblue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Looking forward to Mogga’s. Need to free up an hour... ’You walk up the steps, you see the floodlights, you smell the fried onions, you notice the green grass...’

Season Tickets 2019/2020Mattyblue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Wait till after the 1 July claim your seat deadline for ST holders, some decent ones could well pop up.

You can only maximise that limited income so far, certainly doesn’t lend itself to being a regular in the top 6 of the Championship. Good job we have a benefactor model, ay...
-
Exactly the point I was making, Waggott is in cloud cuckoo land if he expects crowds to increase when we plod along in the mid table of the second division.
-
I’m on about summer season ticket sales, they can receive a boost by some attractive close season signings. You are correct that when the season is actually underway, it is success on the pitch that boosts crowds.

You can just imagine the arse falling out of the Hearns

Season Tickets 2019/2020Mattyblue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard At least the club has now knocked those ridiculous self imposed noon KOs on the head.
-
As long as we are an also ran in the second division - which we largely have been since 2012, crowds will not substantially rise. I wish they would, but I doubt we’ll sell more than our standard 10,000 STs - now start showing some intent in the transfer market and that may change, ‘the club is looking more stable’, ain’t going to bring in the numbers, as reassuring as that may be the likes of us on here.

Champions League 2018-2019Mattyblue replied to speeeeeeedie's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I think with the dominance of elite clubs, glory hunting is now as bad as it’s ever been. Or perhaps it just seems worse to us as we look forward to our 8th year outside the top flight, and some parents just go for the easy option of letting their kid have a Liverpool/City shirt like the rest of their class. You start to lose young ‘uns from Rovers supporting families and it’s game over, as the rest of the area has seemingly succumbed already. Bleurgh.

Champions League 2018-2019Mattyblue replied to speeeeeeedie's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard It’s free on YouTube and BT’s website. I watched the Europa final on YouTube and it was decent quality.

Champions League 2018-2019Mattyblue replied to speeeeeeedie's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Man Utd and their ‘fans’, I find, just think they support a massive club that historically has won a lot. Fair enough, you are still a sad individual that should be supporting your local club, but OK. Liverpool fans have this earnest view that they are some kind of mythical, almost spiritual club that does ‘things differently’, of ‘Shanks’, ‘the Boot Room’, ‘the working class’, ‘the Liverpool way’, ‘Scouse, not English’ (Even the non Scouse ones), a ‘Latin Club’ (under Rafa) and on it goes. In reality their late 70s and 80s domination has just created two generations of plastics across the country that feeds these myths, that our pathetic media eggs on. Burnley aside, no club comes close for vitriol from me. As you can tell! COYS.

Mogga's India Trip 2019Mattyblue replied to Bigdoggsteel's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Little bit of pressure put on Mowbray I thought. No hiding behind ‘Well club x have parachute money’. ‘Sunderland get 30,000 gates’ and so on. Quite right too.

Mogga's India Trip 2019Mattyblue replied to Bigdoggsteel's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Thought it was interesting that Waggott admitted it will be a weaker league this time.

Champions League 2018-2019Mattyblue replied to speeeeeeedie's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard The fact they play their football in this country means nothing to me. But of course come on Tottenham, I can’t be doing with another 2005, the single use plastic will be unbearable.

Other Football League 2018/19Mattyblue replied to SBlue's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Salford have just signed Richie Towell who was first choice in the Championship with Rotherham last season. I imagine it will be a brief stay in League 2...
-
Is he? Not sure he’s any better than a good Championship player myself.
-
Mogga's India Trip 2019Mattyblue replied to Bigdoggsteel's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard It’s perfectly true. But you don’t read ‘Trevor Hemmings funded Preston North End’ or ‘Middlesbrough, who operate under a Steve Gibson benefactor model’ in their local paper. Weird recent innovation.

Mogga's India Trip 2019Mattyblue replied to Bigdoggsteel's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I’ve noticed Sharpe drops that line in nearly every article these days. Lapped up by Beetlejuice and crew below the line.

Season Tickets 2019/2020Mattyblue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard The Observer? No chance! They don’t want an earful from Holt at the next EFL meeting, do they!
