  1. Ive hardly posted in this thread because I can’t really be arsed getting worked up one way or the other at this stage. But it’s a summer transfer window thread so folk can post to their heart’s content or ignore it entirely if they aren’t bothered. What spoils the forum are posts like yours.
  2. BB in ‘benchwear’ mode already with his hopeful look towards Mogga
  3. For the existing 8,000 to 10,000 that have renewed regardless since relegation it doesn’t particularly matter when they go on sale or how they are marketed. We renew anyway out of loyalty/habit/duty whatever. But surely we should be looking further than just re-signing up the core every year? And I am not expecting PL sales, just a little imagination/drive to attract just an incremental rise. By the way that incremental rise isn’t legit if the club simply ignores their own published sales of 10,000+ for last season and pretends we sold 8,500, so they can spin even a decrease this summer as a success...
  4. Not true about the Forest fans being 'outraged' by the way, it was certainly a mixed view.
  5. TV schedules, simple as that.
  6. I thought he was excellent for most of 2018. Definite dip since, but didn't they all?
  7. If we can’t compete with the likes of Stoke and Middlesbrough then we may as well give up and become an Oldham or Rochdale.
  8. He’ll be in the England squad as soon as he seals that move to Man Utd. Typical big club bias.
  9. Like this every season. Season tickets, kits, budgets, never changes.
  10. Think we just need the bloody things released looking at this thread!
  11. Why do we keep going in circles around this. Of course we play in halves, but at one time the halves were always reversed at the back, ergo they were described as quarters.
  12. Once the season gets going you’d only have a match thread and maybe a podcast pinned. Plenty of room for a pinned thread celebrating the heritage of this fantastic football club, no?
  13. Rich Sharpe is regurgitating Waggott’s line for a second article that we only sold 8,750 season tickets last season. Even though on Twitter Sharpe said he would be asking him why he was saying we had sold 10,000+ a few months ago. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17694740.finances-show-importance-of-season-ticket-sales-to-rovers/
  14. You’ve proven nothing, but OK. In fact by bringing Allardyce into it, you’ve given TWO examples of over-achieving teams over this lot, so nice one!
  15. You are now talking about Mowbray as a manager. He came second with the biggest budget by the way and then finished 15th after spending over £10million quid. But that being said I think he’s done well - but he’s no Mark Hughes - one of our all time great managers. Thought your ill thought out point was this was unequivocally the ‘hardest working team we’ve had for 25 years’? We’ve ‘pretty much proven’ you are talking tripe.
  16. Bellamy played 20 odd matches. You seem to be comparing the teams. Of course that team had far better players than this lot. I am comparing getting a team containing Kuqi, Todd, Savage, Mokoena, Dickov et al to top 6 in the PL to a team with average Championship players finishing in an average position in the Championship.
  17. First game of the season shortly before he left. Even the players that stand out were past it - Amorouso, Yorke (Soon to leave), Short. Ferguson was dreadful and shortly left. The quality of Duff, Dunn, Jansen, Cole, Berg long gone. Hughes had us top 6 in the Premier League the season after.
  18. Personally think Hughes had inherited a team on the way down in October 2004. Souness has totally lost it by the stage. The quality of the 2001 - 2003 period had quickly disintegrated.
  19. Was Nelsen a top 6 player on ability alone? We had Bellamy one season and he missed a third of that. We had the likes of Savage and Andy Todd in there. Our other strikers were Dickov and Kuqi. Of course we had good players, the crap we’ve had this past decade makes us lament such players even more. But that team was far more than the sum of its parts. Is this team?
  20. Every post on here is an opinion, but I believe yours is tripe, as I said. I know who Id want to be in the trenches with and it would be that Hughes side any day of the week. Top pros with an edge. Mogga’s lot don’t come close. Yes Hughes’ team had better players, but we were in the PL - were they a Collection of players that were 6th best in England on paper? No chance, it was the graft that got them there. Is this team achieving more than it should through hard work? I wouldn’t say so, it is a bottom half quality team in the bottom half.
  21. The Hughes team lacked quality in the context of the top 6 of the Premier League, but that’s where they ended up. Through sheer guts and hard work. Dont talk tripe Paul.
  22. Mulgrew starts. First time he’s been on the pitch since going off at half time against Stoke at the start of April.
  23. I often am on Attendance threads...
  24. Why have my and OldEwoodBlue’s posts been deleted? There was nothing remotely antagonistic in them?
