Season Tickets 2019/2020Mattyblue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard We’ll sell pretty much the same as usual with a little spike today (payday and £4 extra club cash!!!!) and another at claim your seat deadline day. No advertisement I can see apart from on the club’s official social media accounts. Any lapsed/non ST holders had any targeted advertising?

Season Tickets 2019/2020Mattyblue replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Doesn’t really mean anything without a comparison to this stage usually.

I’m not particularly arsed about the fixtures in themselves being ‘unglamorous’. What is strange though is that Mowbray himself said he doesn’t want to largely play lower league sides. Last season’s friendlies showed that. This time we are seemingly back to them.
-
I thought the company accounts stated that it was 7million as they had us spending £10 million overall on transfers?
-
It was a debate, no? A couple of people got a bit personal, but I thought the rest of us (Joe included) were just chewing the fat on BB, a big signing for the club. Whats the problem with that? Or if it’s in the wrong thread, just move it.
-
Well of course. Bloke near me slags off Dack every week! That’s a football crowd. But as a COLLECTIVE he’s had great support.
-
I’ll stop you there. He’s had fantastic support from the fans. Very patient. If folk in the pub or on a forum want to criticise the money spent, so what if he’s been getting support at the ground?

We all thought Lowe was shite from day 1, Shirley?
-
Jason Lowe played at various youth levels for England - indeed he captained the U20s...
-
Fair enough Joe. I can’t agree that he is ready and we will see in August that TM (the actual expert) doesn’t agree with you either.
-
Fútbol, Le Foot, Voetbal, ποδόσφαιροMattyblue replied to Tim Southampton Rover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard They are, much cheaper season tickets though.
-
You started it Joe by saying you wanted BB starting next season. The lad ain’t ready. The price tag shouldn’t come into it. If he was out of our academy we would be saying he needed a season out on loan to learn the game and toughen up.
-
BB will play when he is good enough to get past DG, not because we spent money on him... and he’s currently not even close . Ridiculous to say otherwise.
-
The fact BB cost 7 million means bugger all, many a manager has thrown money away. We spent £10 million on Nathan Blake and Ashley Ward.

Fútbol, Le Foot, Voetbal, ποδόσφαιροMattyblue replied to Tim Southampton Rover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Leicester are a decent side, as are Wolves and they would’ve been right up there in years gone by. However, the financial muscle of the top 6 now leaves them miles away.

Fútbol, Le Foot, Voetbal, ποδόσφαιροMattyblue replied to Tim Southampton Rover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard A good advert to show how they are a million miles away from the rest of English football, you mean?
-
Of course a striker has to be a priority. We were a Graham injury away from a big problem last season.
-
Said it all when Harvey’s only response to the crisis in club governance was ‘well the fans should be grateful to their owners’ Tinpot fixture organiser masquerading as a professional body.
-
The LT staff are leaving east Lancs entirely and moving into the Bolton News office, I believe.
-
No chance Carroll would come here, pay as you play, get out of it! He’s been on around 80k a week and there will without doubt PL clubs interested in giving him a proper deal.
-
And BB is anywhere near ready to fire us to the top 6?!?
-
We were very, very unlikely to go down. In fact, we were the first club in the division to be confirmed as stopping in this league - we couldn’t go up or down. Even so, you agree two budgets. Most clubs will be involved in something either promotion, play offs or relegation. Doesn’t mean planning just stops until the manager and Chief Exec fly half way across the world two weeks after the season has finished.
-
I don’t see why the meeting can’t take place in the last international break, end of March. Only about a half dozen games of the season left by then. By that time any progressive football club should be thinking of the following season, surely?
-
I’m not really paying much attention to this thread, the LT or anywhere else at this stage. The likes of Nixon and these random online places like ‘the 72’ churn out any old shite and folk are all over it. Either it will be someone like Downing and everyone recoils in horror or Maher and people think ‘oh I like the sound of him’. But in reality we probably aren’t interested in either and it is just agents doing their standard ‘rule of 3’ routine. I would say these random names give no insight either way into actual Rovers transfer policy.
-
Indeed it does, which is why a lot of clubs are in a right state if relegated.
